Tourist lodge near the Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. Pleasant bandas with en suite showers and flush loos. Food good and plentiful. Staff warm, friendly and attentive. Lovely pool with a superb view over the Rift Valley with the peaks of the Ruwenzoris in the distance. Well placed for the QE National Park.Nearby walks to crater lakes. We... More

I had read some of the previous reviews, but decided to book anyways. I then wrote to the manager who assured me I should not worry, everything would be taken care of. He was wrong. First we were put in a room that didn't have a view. The main reason to stay here was for the view and there were... More

The hotel is amazing with a great view and impeccable service. The good is quite good and nothing can be compared to the rooms with that balcony. This was my second time there, had great fun. Thanks to Julius and obey.

Honestly, you cannot charge 230 USD just for a good view. The terrace is great, the pool overlooking Queen Elizabeth National park is great, same counts for the balcony of our cottage - i have never had such a great view on a national park. But then, the driveway to the lodge in a terrible state, staff is nice but... More

This was a special stay for us over Christmas and although very expensive for us as one non-resident and one resident couple (they were willing to negotiate the rate a bit down from the usual non-resident rate but really should've been lower as it was the resident paying??), we didn't regret staying there. The room we stayed in was very... More

I'm guessing that back in the day, Kingfisher was pretty great. However, it's pools were either broken or dirty. The place is looking rather tired and "shabby." (As they say in Uganda) Views of the Rift Valley are amazing, but the room prices are way too high, especially for non residents. If a hotel is going to charge $230 (US... More

This lodge has a fantastic location with a sweeping view across the rift valley and QE Game Park. It is also well located for activities such as chimpanzee trekking (an unforgettable experience) and excursions into the game park (although with the road in a very poor condition it now takes about one and a half hours to get from Kingfisher... Service, food and accommodation were average, but the view is amazing! We only spent one night in a triple bedroom and it was good enough and comfortable. There's no internet or tv. Personal is friendly

The best features of Kingfisher Lodge are the stunning views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Panoramic view of grasslands and trees that stretch far into the distance. Some of the huts sit right on the edge of the cliff. Many huts (particularly H and I) have private balconies with a large seating area. Huts are large and spacious. Mosquito nets... More
