We very much enjoyed our stay at Kyambura Game Lodge. The views, including from our balcony, were just beautiful. We love staying in cabins with tented walls and modern bathrooms (the best of both worlds). The service was earnest. We found that service people throughout Uganda (and Rwanda) try very hard to please and those at Kyambura were no exception.... More

Apologies for a long review but if you are thinking of booking this place you should be aware of some crucial aspects: Situated on the escarpment above the Savannah just south of Queen Elizabeth National Park this lodge has 8 pretty cabins built from traditional materials and utilising hand crafted natural products. The cabins offer views west across the Savannah... More

This place was empty when we arrived, no guests - no staff. After calling for help, a guy showed up and presented the place. Place is new, Architecture is tasteful. View to of the valley is nice. However, place is poorly maintained, the first room we saw was not prepared, the second room one was dirty, even bird droppings. Clearly,... More

Stunning location on the edge of the Rift Valley, very kind and attentive serving staff, nice pool. So far for the good news. Our room (nr. 8) was terrible : not clean, all textiles stained, literally full of insects. The manager blamed it “to nature”, did not propose to change rooms nor to fumigate the room. WIFI didn’t function, electricity... More

Superb views, and offering a variety of animals roaming around the area. Very acceptable food, BUT, ask for the wine-list or you may find yourself paying £40 for an unspecified bottle ! All in all, a decent location.

Visited in May. At least at that time they took only cash or wire transfer. I paid by wire transfer. After I was in-country they notified me that they hadn't received my payment. I was unable to communicate enough from Uganda with my bank to obtain the proof of payment so we had to pay cash on arrival. That was... More

First off, let me say that the manager and the staff at this lodge were incredibly nice. It is set on an escarpment and you can see a small watering hole in the distance that often has an elephant or two at it. There is a nice pool and the bar and dining area are very nice, with views of... More

This is definitely a bit out of the way of QEP, so although you overlook it, to get there in the morning it's a 45 minute drive. Yes it is near a village so it is not super quiet but we didn't hear the call to prayer at night as some travelers mentioned. It is I'm sure a good jumping... More

I stayed here while on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and had a blissful time. The staff and owner were warm and helpful, and were always on call when I needed their assistance. The private bandas are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, using natural materials. The food was very good and the dining area/bar/fireplace is gorgeous. I stayed during... More

Our cabin had an unobstructed view of the national park and woke up every morning to groups of elephants and waterbucks and lots of baboons. That is part of the amazing experience of being right there so close to traveling animals. We woke to the beautiful sound of the call to prayer and birds all around. Our cabin was nice... More
