Splendid views of the mountains, cool people around (Allan) our host welcomed us warmly and we loved the place even more , quite place to a gateway holiday I really recommend the place.thank you lake chahafi for you’re hospitality👌🏿
A group of 7 guides, we had a great excursion for both birding and nature at Lake chahafi resort. The staff is so welcoming and hospital as we were welcomed by black tea due to the coldness at the Lake. It was raining and the staff welcomed us with umbrellas from the vehicle up to all the trail we took. The nice views of mount Muhabura while you take a boat ride on lake chahafi gifted with many birds (for bird lovers). I highly appreciate and recommend this resort.
I can’t begin to overstate how great the experience at Lake Chahafi was! We were there to see the gorillas in Mgahinga (which was awesome btw) and we ended up staying for two nights. We arrived at 6pm the first night from a long drive from Kampala and we were treated with fresh juice and tea. They carried our luggage to our rooms and got our orders for dinner. The resort is definitely located “off the beaten path” and for a few kilometers the road is bumpy and you start to wonder if there really is a resort at the end of it. But once you arrive the location is serine and definitely worthwhile. The rooms are great and the beds are even more comfortable and nicely made then the nicest hotels in Kampala (Speke and Serena)! Dinner is peaceful near the fire and while you are eating they have turn down service where they fix your bed, spray the room for bugs and place a comfortable warmer in the bed. Before you head off for bed they ask you if you want a wake up call in the morning with your choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Breakfast was also great and they packed us a lunch for our treck with the gorillas. Upon getting back from the gorilla track they have refreshments waiting. They even cleaned our hiking boots while we had dinner. Showers always had warm water and the toilet and electricity worked without any issues. The service, peaceful scenery, food and accommodations were extraordinary! Before staying at Chahafi I stayed at the highest TripAdvisor rated Kampala hotels(Speke and Serena) and I can undoubtably say that my experience at Chahafi far exceeded my experience at Speke or Serena. The food to me was even better than the other hotels. It’s quite impressive how they are able to bring such quality service to such a remote area. Looking at the two poor reviews about this place frustrates me because you have westerns complaining about $8 or $20 camping fees. These type of inconsiderate idiots love traveling to low income countries and demand rock bottom prices while expecting the best accommodations. I honestly don’t know how they live with themselves because these types of practices only seek to exploit an already exploited and under resource population. Anyways I am going to get off my soapbox about how inconsiderate western travelers can be.. I absolutely loved my experience here and will certainly return later this year when I hike the volcano. Thank you for having me and giving me such an incredible experience!! …
Wow we cannot say enough about how beautiful this place is ! The nature embraces you in its beauty, the volcano is just right beyond your view as you eat breakfast, the lake is just breathtaking. And the staff is tremendously awesome. they were so kind and helpful and made us feel at home we would highly recommend
We stayed over for one night in preparation for our gorilla trek the next morning.Great comfortable accommodation, delicious food and excellent service from the staff. The view of the volcano is beautiful. Highly recommended.
