Stayed at the Wagtail camp during a 2 week trip through Uganda. The camp as both canvas tents as well as single and double bed rooms. Since our small group of 5 were the only people at the resort, they let us all have a room by ourselves without charging us for the luxury of single accommodations. We all chose... More

The clean bedrooms and hot showers in the ensuite bathrooms were a welcome upgrade on our 2 week camping trip through Uganda. Fidelis, the owner, was friendly and the staff proudly wear the black and white wagtail uniforms and provide a happy and smiley service. It was a perfect place to prepare for gorilla treking and to relax around the... More

I stayed at this place in February 2015 with 5 friends and how we were welcomed, we felt like kings and queens! Very accommodating and helpful staff with the biggest smiles, we loved them! The rooms were nice, the shower and toilet very well done and though we came quite late with very little notice, the food did not take... More

Great location for jump off to do mountain gorilla tours. Beds were comfortable, but rooms are quite damp (likely due to the climate), the sheets were clean but pillows smelled strongly of sweat. Staff are really nice and accommodating, food was very tasty (massive portions!). Owner Fidelis is often present, he is very nice and welcoming (and talkative!); he is... More

We stayed in the Wagtail Eco Camp for three nights… I remember the day we arrived there, we told our tour guide we’d stay no longer than one night, because the room we were assigned was damp and the sheets were all wet because of humidity… but we ended up staying three nights, and only because of the friendliness and... Excellent for trekking the southern gorillas. Very friendly and helpful staff, the tent bandanas are great. Very good food! In the evening they light a large fire in the garden which you can sit and eat around. The village in which it is located is very nice.

I absolutely loved Wagtail, and its location is perfect for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. I was near the end of my 10 day Uganda Safari when I stayed at Wagtail, enjoying the location and staff for 2 nights. Of all the places I stayed the staff here were by far the friendliest and most helpful. There were smiling... More

Usually do not mind rustic accommodations, but overall did not enjoy Wagtail. Room/cottage was very damp and musty, making it really uncomfortable for sleeping. Seemed like at one point it might have been a nice place, but is wearing down. Only hotel we stayed at in Uganda & Rwanda without mosquito nets, we didn't have mosquitos but room was filled... More
