Stayed here as part of a gorilla trekking safari. The rooms are large and have great views of the lake with a comfortable patio. Staff was warm and attentive. Hot water bottles added in the bed at night was a nice touch!
I stayed here as part of a bigger gorilla trekking trip but it has become one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed at. The views are impeccable, the staff are wonderful and my stay was amazing. Firstly, my room has the most incredible view of the lake. It was really nice to sit out and just relax after a long day of trekking. Secondly, the food was delicious and plentiful! We had 4-5 course meals for lunch and dinner and a wide array of choices for breakfast. Highly recommend this place!
The entire gorilla trek experience was magical and staying at this lodge just added to the feeling. The view is stunning! The sounds of many birds greeted us each morning. I can’t say enough about how attentive the staff was to our every need. They even cleaned our muddy boots when we returned from the gorilla trek. The food was good. One of the unexpected pleasures was the hot water bottles placed in our beds each evening. So cozy! I highly recommend this lodge. I wish we could have stayed for a full day after the trek.
Most, if not all, people who stay here come to see the gorillas, the starting point for which is about an hour away. So people want to get up early after a good night’s sleep, which will entail going to sleep early. Regrettably someone has decided that each chalet should have a bright light shining on the bedroom window and that this light should be controlled from the main building. So when you find too much light in your room, you have to get dressed and walk up all the steps to reception to ask them to please turn the light off. As it was raining we couldn’t be bothered, but suffered a delay in getting to sleep as a result. Next evening we requested that the light be turned off and we’re told it would be done in five minutes, to give us time to return to the chalet. They then forgot! Wouldn’t it be easier to put the light control in the chalet? Another gripe is that a male member of staff spoke loudly near our chalet shortly after we’d got to sleep, presumably taking a client to their room. Shouldn’t they be trained to speak quietly at night? He woke us both up the night before the gorilla trek. Having said this, the staff were lovely, friendly, helpful, the chef great fun and the ambience super. Views over the lake, constantly changing with the clouds and sun, we’re worthy of Switzerland or Como. Just get those lights fixed and you’ll be perfect!…
Super lodge, excellent rooms with splendid views. Food was alacarte with a good variety to choose from including packed lunches. Hot water bags already tucked in your bed. The staff even cleaned our trekking muddy shoes, thanks for that. Staff were super friendly. Cannot fault the lodge will definitely visit again given an opportunity. All the best to the management.
We have done a 4-day trip to hike Mount Sabinyo and our tour operator "Nature Trails East Africa" has booked this wonderful lodge for us. From our arrival until our departure, everything was perfect and we were really happy! The staff was really friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the rooms were very nice with a beautiful view of the lake. It was the perfect place to relax between the long drive from Kampala and our hike on Mount Sabinyo. We can highly recommend this place and would definitely come back another time.
We were contemplating if we should rate the lodge with three or four stars. The friendly staff and the beautiful setting deserve four. The lack of cleanliness and the food tend to three. Our dirty towel, that we had placed on the floor for replacement was simply put back on the rack, the sundeck by the lake is in a miserable state (and full of bird droppings). Food is ok, breakfast sort of ok, some tables very dimly lit, however. The rooms are beautiful, the bathroom might have been cleaner and drinking water was not replaced. A nice aspect to be mentioned is that you can wash your hands and get your boots clean right upon arrival.
Our stay at the Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge was booked to be a restful escape after 5 weeks of non-stop being on the road. We could not have chosen a better place. While guests came and went for various activities, we stayed 3 nights in one spot and enjoyed the property itself during the day. The room and its terrace overlooking the lake, the restaurant/bar area and the pier - it was like home from home. Very comfortable with some board games available and lots of lovely places to sit and read and have a drink. All of the team, but particularly Johnathan, Gilbert and Atifs' attention to detail and wonderful welcome, amazing food, and the service during our stay was, without exception, the best that we experienced during our time in Uganda. Nothing was too much trouble - from late breakfast requests, to helping with some local admin matters. A gem in Uganda.…
I have to start off by saying that the staff are just incredible. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We absolutely LOVED the chef (CHEF ENOS). He explained the menu to us prior to every meal and ensured that our dietary restrictions were met. The view from this place is also amazing. It oversees Lake Mulehi. The rooms have a rustic feeling and are very nice and clean.
We stayed here for 3 nights, while gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park. The staff here is exceptional. Their attentiveness and kindness feels genuine, as well as professional. The staff even cleaned our hiking boots after our treks. The rooms- individual cottages - are clean, comfortable and overlooking the beautiful lake. It is an exceptional setting with exceptional staff making everyone feel at home. I highly recommend this lodge.
