We checked in on 4th September 2021. Best Western plus I believe is a chain of hotels. The Directors worldwide kindly check on this facility!its being badly managed down here in zanzibar!we have been to best Western plus in hongkong all wa best!in stonetown you will not see the signboard as it is covered by tall growing bougavillie flowers. The live fence is growing to a forest. The place has wooden gate which was ment to be a nice one but at this time it is brocken and badly repaired or held on cruckedly both the front and rare gates.Inside bedrooms we could not walk barefoot.. was full of soil!dust was all over!there is supposed to be nice balcony but is full of dust .not swept not attended in any way..The staff are good! There was mold on the cielling above our room door..the smell of the mold could be felt in the whole corridor. The breakfast was good!please someone reque this beautiful hotel!

It's one of the worst hotels you can attend. Small rooms, bad room service and the food can't be worst. The hotel stink. Every day the same dishes, and the taste,🤢, yet not enough for all Simply don't put it even as last option

I have enjoyed this hotel several times now two years apart. The hotel is very close to the ferry terminal so if you are traveling this way it is very convenient. What I like best about this hotel is a very comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom with hot water and powerful air conditioner all at a reasonable price. These things are very helpful in Zanzibar which tends to be a very hot and sticky place. The hotel has lost some energy during the Covid crisis. The restaurant is not functioning though it still operates as a bar (something not easy to find in Zanzibar) the elevator does not always read the right floor and the breakfast had fewer options. Still I liked this spot as a Western style hotel in an exotic place if that is what you are looking for.

Hi i stayed at the best western plus in zanzibar upon arriving i was checked in to a room on the ground floor had no view at all and my request was that all my rooms were to be next to each other but the hotel has not done that, secondly the breakfast was really awful we were just given omelets there was no sugar for the tea or coffee as well as no cereal basically all there was, was eggs. and thirdly upon check out i was charged extra 1 dollar a per person a night addition to what i initially paid which came out to quite a lot since i was a family of 6 staying for 4 nights, i would not recommend this hotel to anybody. please stay away.

I originally booked to stay at the Golden Tulip, which is across the street from the best western. However, there was some sort of power outage at the tulip so they put me in a room at the best western. I was bummed at first since I booked the golden tulip for the outdoor pool and good reviews; however they let still be able to use the pool even though I was placed in a different hotel. The best western ended up being a great hotel. The staff is super friendly. They coordinated tours for me. Even last minute at a good price. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was on the rooftop which was really nice. I watched the sunset a few times. The hotel is also a short 2 min walk from the ferry port and you can see and hear when the ferries arrive. The beds were super comfortable, the shower had really good pressure and got hot! I also had a small balcony with a view to the golden tulip. Only complaint is there is a mosque nearby so when its prayer time, its disturbing, especially at 5 am! Other than that, I have no complaints. The hotel is very clean and rooms are spacious and comfy. The food at the restaurant is also really good. But all of the food in zanzibar is amazing. Didn't have one bad meal while there. I ventured around the island during a week stay in zanzibar and this was by far my favorite hotel! So glad that I was placed here. I will definitely return here.
