The Coffee House is right in the heart of Stonetown so allows you to walk everywhere - have fun getting lost. The town feels scary but is actually very safe. The rooms while simple are charming and feel as though you are back in the days of Sultans and Arabic influence. The Coffee Shop does make great coffee and the... More

I spent a working week at the Z.Coffee Hotel and found it to be the perfect boutique hotel in Stone Town, with excellent service, a clean room, wifi and great staff ably led by Salomé. And I got used to the bathroom outside of the room.

I love the Zanzibar Coffee House! It's an unpretentious, character-filled historic building with friendly staff, beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and a great little restaurant offering the best spiced coffee and veggie wraps on the island! It is also quiet and close (walking distance) to the seaside and main attractions. It will always be my first choice of places to... More

Our room, Arabica, was so cute and nicely decorated. From the time we arrived to the time we left was super fun, would go again and highly recommend it! Great breakfast with a really cool view of the rooftops of Stone Town.

We had a short restful stay in this nice hotel. Very nice welcome with a juice. All rooms are pittoresque. Separated bathroom are spot cleaned, and not shared no worries for those who were wondering. We had 4 different type of rooms. The only slight regret was to have gone for the macchiato en suite, which has a very small... More

Since 2010 we come back to the Zanzibar Coffee House and in our view it is still the best stay you can get in Stonetown. Breakfast on the topfloor overlooking the town is fabulous. The rooms are decorated in a very fine arabic style, very cosy and very special. The team provides excellent service.

A very friendly and welcoming place. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was amazing. Clean and well decorated rooms. Excellent coffee and food. What do you want more? Note: No direct accesss by taxi (narrow streets).

From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we were met with warm, friendly and excellent service from Salome and her team. Beautiful old Arabian style building turned into a place of comfort, with great food and even better coffee. Will stay there again, you should too.

A lovely little hotel in a traditional Zanzibar house. The rooms are beautifully decorated in Zanzibari style, yet they come with all the modern conveniences, including an in room safe for your valuables. There is turn down service and a welcome drink in the cute cafe. Service, though, is really their strong point, though. I was welcomed graciously by Philipina,... More

An old building with plenty of charm in the heart of the old city of Stonetown. The roof-top room where you can hang out is a dream - wonderful air and light, great breakfast and the wifi is really good up on the roof-top. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My only caution would be to check that you... More
