We stayed 4 nights here and were very impressed. Beautiful hotel, full of character with antique decorations, old coffee machines, furniture etc. Best coffee in town and great food. The rooftop breakfast area, with lounge was a highlight - in the real heat of the day escaping up here meant cool breeze in very comfortable lounge area. Can definitely recommend.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. Our welcome was super with a complimentary coffee of our choice and the staff very friendly. Our room was exceptional. Stunningly decorated, very spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet on the roof terrace a real treat. The location perfect for touring the town but get your cab driver to walk you...

I booked the single room with a private bathroom in the hallway. I was really happy with my stay overall though there are a few things I think other travelers may want to take note of should they consider a booking. First, the stuff that was great! Check-in was easy. After being dropped off by the driver the hotel sent...

We arrived after dark, through a still fish market, men lounging on doorsteps discussing events of the day, sounds of soccer games and dinner echoing in the winding streets. Two knocks of the brass ring on the massive wooden doors and we were in for a warm greeting. The location is simply amazing and so was the service. Breakfast on...

Hotel offers great breakfast on the rooftop. Room was okay. It is not luxury but everything you need for a comfortable stay. It can be noisy at night because it is in the middle of stonetown but we slept very well.

Wonderfull old hotel with nice rooms above the coffee bar. Not very many modern but high atmosphere. Especially the roof terrace is great offering a fridge with drinks/write down yourself. Sunset on the roof. Rooms are great with aircon. Location is perfect with everything on walking distance. Only cash payments accepted.

Very nice decorated and clean hotel with comfortable rooms and beds and with tasty coffee, snacks and sweets. Its location is very convenient for shopping and walks in the heart of Stone Town. The hotel stuff was also friendly. I would gladly recommend it!

We had lunch here. Used gps to find the place. It was clean and the food was okay, but a bit expensive - to be expected. Coffee very good. Staff could be more inviting and friendly. Still worth the visit.

Too expensive for the service provided. Pleasant staff. Food was ok, yet could be improved. Overpriced XMas meal. Pretty place in a good place in Stone Town yet too expensive. Over-rated tripadvisor qualification I believe.

Dear Guest We appreciated your stay very much but are a bit surprised about your comments, given that we had the impression you enjoyed your time at the coffee house. Pricing is indeed a challenge and maybe a bit on the upper side but we are faced with exorbitant government taxes and raising cost, which makes it difficult to do...
