Lovely staff, really friendly and helpful. Great location with a lovely balcony for breakfast and drinks. Coffee is awesome. I would definitely stay again if back in Stone Town. Rooms are designed nicely.

We stayed for two nights at Zanzibar Coffee House and enjoyed it very much. Especially positive were - the very friendly staff - the great breakfast on the roof top terrace - the nice furnished and decorated rooms with an eye for details - excellent location in heart of Stone Town We have only minor negative points like the high... The coffee was incredible, the best cup we have had after months of being on the road. The building was beautiful in the classical Stone Town fashion of tall, asymmetrical staircases. The suite was lovely and we had no problems with heat or noise or whatever. The staff were a little distracted because they were concurrently running what appeared to... More

After spending 5 days on safari we spent one night here. Having such nice comfortable rooms and a nice warm shower felt amazing to us. We were picked up from the airport and welcomed by the night porter who also then organised our transfer for the next day and gave us directions to where we wanted to go for dinner.... More

We arrived at the beginning of the afternoon on a weekday. The heart of old Stone Town is impassable for cars, so our taxi driver parked a little bit outside. We had to walk approximately 5 minutes with our luggage, which you should be aware of. But for us this was no problem. We arrived at the beautiful Zanzibar Coffee... More

Well I know when you travel you are to do as the locals... And for the most part I will embrace this creed.... However I like good coffee..... And i don't know how to deal with it apart from accepting it and finding my next hit.... (those who know will under) most of the hotels/resorts in Stone Town will do... More

Excellent. Good attention, big room (Arabica suite), amazing breakfast, nice sights from the terrace, well located. Little gem in Stone Town. Note: Cars cannot get there (narrow street), ask the taxi driver to guide you there, specially at night.

We went to the Zanzibar coffee house for a cup and decided to have a slice of their enticing chocolate mousse cake as well. Both the plunger coffee and desert tasted excellent although the service was slow and lacking a smile. The good coffee brought us back a second time, and we decided to order lunch with it too. The... Its a lovely old building and full of antique furniture and such like. However beyond that, its OK, not super luxury. The owner and staff are welcoming. However we are more than capable of carrying our own bags up one flight of stairs. So if someone insists on carrying them for us, we will not tip. I don't then expect... More

We had a very pleasant stay at the Zanzibar Coffee House. Friendly staff, good location and comfortable and clean rooms. The breakfasts on the roof were very enjoyable, although the fact that the coffee house closed at 6:00 p.m. (so there was no food was available after that) was somewhat inconvenient.
