Stayed here my first night in Stonetown and liked it so much have another night booked. Good location up near the ferry terminal. Very friendly and helpful staff and nice clean rooms with well hung mosquito nets. Lovely roof terrace where breakfast is served and drinks are available, the breakfast is very nice and also includes eggs. Fish market was... More

What is Princess Salme? A quiet, comfortable place where the crew is friendly, kind and helpful, the rooms are spacey, quiet and very clean, unfortettable breakfasts served on the rooftop. We stayed from October 7th to 21th 2012 and our experience has been absolutely great. A special thank you to Angela, Gertrud and Neema. Loredana and Claudio, Turin (Italy)

Great price, convenient location (hidden, but findable), friendly staff, good breakfast, A/C, clean, laundry service, etc. Internet was dicey at best but that's Zanzibar. Don't be fooled by hotels with generators. No power = no Internet, even with a generator. Frequent power outages on the island.

Although the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very unfriendly, unhelpful and the owner tried to get more money out of us than quoted. He lives in Dar and runs the hotel over the phone. We were quoted $15 per person and they then told us we needed to pay $45 per couple when we arrived. When we... More

Great place, friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms with a nice traveller vibe. Free wi-fi, beer and soda fridge on the roof, and the staff will help you with any queries you have. Really good breakfast!

I stayed for 5 nights at the Princess Salme Inn a few weeks ago during the Eid al Fatr celebrations following Ramadan and happy with the staff and the hotel in general. They hava a nice partially-enclosed rooftop terrace with a view of the port, tea/coffee nicely free, and a cooler where you can get a water or beer and... More

I've been to Salme Inn three times during the autumn 2011 and January 2012 as I was living in Dar. Salme's rooms are small but clean. There's no AC but a fan and really good mosquito nets. The hotel itself is only a two minute walk from the ferry to Dar, five-ten minute walk from the busses leaving for the... More

We got a double room for two, and another one with four beds, and they are really small and with no toilet. I think the place is expensive for what you get. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is nice, and there is wifi, but no in the first floor, so if you want wifi, ask for a bedroom... More

We stayed 3 nights at Princess Salme Inn in a shared bathroom room and really enjoyed our time. The exterior of the building is a bit off putting and had us wondering if we'd made the right choice. However, as we entered and were greeted by the friendly staff we were right away at ease. The roof top terrace is... More
