Travelers' Choice
Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a luxurious nine-room boutique hotel located right in the heart of Stone Town (a Unesco World Heritage site). It is independently owned and is an ideal home to explore and experience all the beauties of this magical town and Island. Zanzibar's rich history is integrated throughout the hotel with Arabian, Indian and English designs, in combination with all modern comfort (AC, free WiFi, flatscreen TVs, etc). Each room/suite has its own unique decor with locally originated antique pieces of furniture, magical beds, colourful silks, etc. Room rates for every purse definitely make this a place to stay. As you walk through the front door, you notice the soft aqua-blue interior colours along with the antique furniture. You are immediately put into a state of calm and relaxation.

Nestled in the heart of Old Stone Town, Zanzibar Palace Hotel garners accolades for its superb location near the beach and cultural hotspots. The attentive service, including a welcoming owner and staff who personalize every aspect of the stay, receives consistent praise. While some amenities like in-room iron and fridge are missed, the cultural authenticity and spacious, clean rooms more than compensate. Guests adore the traditional decor that embodies Zanzibar's rich heritage. Moreover, the hotel offers great value, making it a popular choice for travelers seeking a unique and comfortable experience.

Sorry to hear your stay wasn't perfect. Our boutique hotel is more for those looking to chill and explore the historical Sone Town vibes. Not super kid-friendly, but we hope you still enjoyed the peace and local charm at our spot in the heart of town!

Heading to Zanzibar was a unexpected getaway for a couple of days. To our delight, we stayed at the most lovely establishment - Zanzibar Palace Hotel. It was unique, extremely well kept and mysterious with the most delightful staff. Daniela made sure our stay was beyond amazing and we look forward to returning one day! Susan & Emma

From the start we were cared for, so that made this a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very polite and thoughtful. Our room was really individual and very comfortable. The whole hotel was a great experience - and good for our leg muscles (but you expect stairs in Stonetown!). I enjoyed watching street life from our balcony and listening to all the sounds of the city. I booked a massage too and it was excellent. Our thanks to the whole team for a great stay and wonderful memories.

If you visit the wonderful old Swahili town of Stone Town on Zanzibar, I would highly recommend that you stay at this beautiful, old (yet modernernised) accommodation, based in a beautiful Swahili house, with incredibly wonderful staff, a fine breakfast, and centrally located in order to visit everything in Stone Town. I honestly cannot say enough about how wonderful the service and the hotel staff were. They are certainly to be commended. Everything will be taken care of during your stay, and you could not choose a better accommodation.

The Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a lovely, local place to stay in Stone Town. Each room is unique with traditional furnishings. The owner Daniela was very welcoming and accommodating. She was most helpful in arranging private tours during my stay. Also Daniela made arrangements for airport pick-up and delivery ( for a very small charge) which was most helpful. The food service was wonderful. Breakfast was included, but one could eat lunch and dinner at the private restaurant. I highly recommend staying here.

Really beautiful, unique little oasis in the middle of the old town. Daniela and her team were so helpful and friendly; breakfast and dinner were also excellent. It was a pleasure to stay here and I would recommend it without hesitation. You can be in the middle of everything within a minute - and when it gets too much you are back at the hotel very quickly.

Danielle, the owner of the business is the perfect host and was eager to help with every detail of our stay in Stone Town if needed. The staff were wonderful too and very friendly and professional. We loved the hotel, it is authentic, original and steeped in the rich history of the islands capital. There is so much to explore in the town and beyond, I would recommend a good long stay here!

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay here for one night. The suite we had was wonderful. We appreciated the hotel porter assisting us in purchasing ferry tickets and carrying our luggage to the ferry station. The staff was so nice. And we especially liked the seafood platter and delicious salads that were delivered to our room for dinner!
