This place has plain rooms with great beds with mosquito nets. I stayed here a couple of weeks in 2011 and it was a great place to have as a base-station for exploring stone town and the rest of Zanzibar. The breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace were you can enjoy the morning atmosphere of the wakening old town.... More

Not the best, not even better place but considering what I paid ($15) for this place I don't want to complain. I dont think you can find a cheaper place in Stone Town and for the money I paid it was clean, safe, and right in the Stone Town (near slave chambers). My first room was on the first floor... More

We stayed in Unguja for two weeks and travelled the whole island with Vespas. Since most of the good roads went through stone town when you wanted to go to the east coming from the north for example we stayed some nights in Stone Town. After the first night in Flamingo Guest House we always came back when we had... More

this was one of the nicest rooms we have been in so far. We're budget travelers and have seen many bad rooms. This one was very spacious, had lots of windows with options of closing completely, just mosquito nets or completely open. We had a sink and the beds were comfy and the sheets clean, and we got towels and... More

I stayed here a while back-pre Nov 2013 but it was lovely enough that I wanted to still give them a good shout out. I stayed here with a group of 7 and we all enjoyed ourselves. It is central enough that you can still get out and about and find your way back with no problem. The free breakfast... More

I was traveling solo and I walked from the ferry, which was a little difficult as the roads are more windy that any map explains. So ask the locals for directions, people were supper helpful and didn't even ask for a tip. After a couple of trips though you can remember your way with ease. The place is a small... More

I stayed at Flamingo for a few nights as a solo traveler, in a single room with shared bathroom. Usually I like to stay in dorms but Flamingo was the cheapest thing I could find in Stone Town, at $14/night. It was nothing amazing, it feels very budget, very no-frills. With that said, I have no major complaints. My room... More

Room had sink, mosquito nets and comfy beds, and each floor had two bathrooms with showers. Free breakfast was one of the best we had - lovely fresh bread, choice of eggs, fruit and tea/coffee. We organised the dolphin tour through them as it was one of the cheapest we could find ($30), which was a fantastic day that included... More

Very clean, hot water in the shower (not very often in East Africa), perfect place when you travel on budget. Simple breakfast, but on the roof of the building. Great spot to stay when you want to hire a car and travel around the island. We booked our rooms via phone, no problems when we arrived.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was surprised after the not-so-good reviews at how great it was! It is BUDGET accommodation, and that's what you get - but the rooms had good quality mosquito nets, a fan, a sink and mirror and a place to put your backpack/bag. The bed was reasonably comfortable, the room was quiet and the shared... More
