We stayed a few nights, Manch Lodge is in the heart of Stonetown. It has a pleasant outside garden area. Breakfast is ok, the rooms are clean and comfortable with mosquito nets. Staff was helpful. Our room had no en-suite but the shared bathrooms were nearby and clean

We stayed one rainy night in Manch lodge. In a double room with bathroom. Friendly staff, though rather uninterested. The rooms are ok. The bathrooms didn't work properly. Good price. Breakfast is ok, nice garden, but because of 'coming rain' we couldn't sit there. If the weather would have been nice, it would have been better. All in all ok,... More

Manch Lodge is very nice place to stay in Stone Town. The room where we stayed was clean, spacious, with working fan and mosquito nets. The garden is a nice place where to relax and escape from the streets. wifi works in common areas. For breakfast there is juice, instant coffee/tea, fruit, pancake and omelet. Manch Lodge is located well,... More

In the hub of all Stone Town’s goings-on; walking distance to sunset drinks, markets, bars and clubs. Budget accom, good traveller cross-section, fantastic location, and a friendly team (Godfrey, Sofya and Juma are great). Private room (good size) with ensuite (hand-held shower over toilet) is about $USD30/night, but be sure to request one with an outside-facing window (internal rooms are... More

We stayed at Jambo House for a couple nights before coming here, but I have enjoyed Manch Lodge more. The staff is really really great. They had no problem showing us to our room before we could go to the ATM to get money out. They also helped us arrange a scooter for the day, which worked out great! I... More

Me and my friend stayed her over one night and I quite liked it. We stayed in a private 2 bed room with shared bathroom. It's clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The WiFi works pretty good. Only thing I wish was better is the shower. Almost no pressure. But over all its a nice spot 😊

I had been living in Tanzania for about a month when I visited Zanzibar with a group of about 18 other people. We had not made hotel accommodations for Stone Town and many places were closed or trying to charge us a lot. The place had everything we needed--nice cheap rooms, breakfast in the mornings, even wifi! The owners grandson... More

A well-run, European-style hostel, conveniently located in Stone Town. Clean rooms, a spacious and comfortable outdoor lounge (great for meeting other travelers) and friendly, helpful staff who can assist with booking tours and shared transportation to toerh parts of the island. Less than ten minutes' walk from anywhere in Stonetown. It's difficult to find the first time (as are most... More
