Lovely historic hotel in a great location in Stonetown, easy access to all the sights and markets. we really enjoyed our three nights here. The staff are so friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Fidelia was always happy and positive. We had a ground floor room which saved a lot of energy as the restaurant is on the roof level, up three flights of stairs, good for cardio! We would certainly stay here again on our next visit to Stonetown. Thanks Kisiwa , it’s been great!

We confirm everything that has already been said about the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the wonderful breakfast on the terrace, the beautiful decoration. We were actually in the dark ground floor room when the manager offered us on the third day to change to another room of the same category but with much more light. Just note that the policies are very strict, which we were not made aware of upon arrival. So we got into a discussion with the Manager when we wanted to book a masseuse to come to our room for massages. No visitors are allowed here and exceptions are not made. The Manager did everything possible to find an alternative for us and took his lesson away to improve communication of this policy to the guests to avoid such disappointment in the future. We still highly recommend this place!

When I arrived I was very unhappy with my room because it was at the ground level with not much day light. The room was also very noisy because of the people passing by the street straight by the windows. Tiba the Front Office Manager was always very polite and did everything to solve this issue. I felt that he cared about me and my dissatisfaction. After two days he made it possible that I could change the room. On the top, he organized a privat Stone Town tour for me for free, which I enjoyed very much. Things cannot always go round but it is important to care about and to find solutions. That is what Tiba did and this is why the Kisiwa house earns 5 bullets!

Excellent location, near great restaurants and beach. Friendliest staff, Fidelia, Hussein and Esther were most helpful and knowledgeable about local area and with securing needed personal items that were to be replaced while in Zanzibar. The owner of the little Curio shop in the same alley is also quite nice and friendly. Esther and Fidelia greatly assisted in securing bookings for the Emerson rooftop dinner, sunset at the beach house and lunch and music at spice gardens. Will stay again

We had a wonderful stay at Kisiwa house. Above all, the staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms are kept clean daily and are air conditioned, which is a huge plus in the hot weather. Breakfast on the rooftop is a great start to the day and is prepared well. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here if visiting Stonetown!
