A nice reception from the staff at Kishwa House. Taxi can't get to front door but not a problem staff helped with bags. This is a small boutique hotel and you need to be ok with stairs as we were on the 2nd floor. Room is a good size and certainly has everything you need. Night service set up the... More

The hotel was beautiful but the service was pretty lacking. When we arrived there was no toilet paper, water or soap in our room. My husband was having an important visa document mailed to the front desk but the person working there was unable to understand when he repeatedly asked about it arriving. We were woken up very early on... More

The interior is nice and all required amenities are available.WiFi works sufficiently and the location is just perfect for visiting stone town. Staff is nice and tries its best to be supportive. However, training of staff does not seem to be a priority for the owners. Hardly any communication between staff which means your arrangements made in the evening will... More

Stayed for 2 nights and found the staff to be very attentive. The facilities were good, rooms very clean and spacious and it fact nothing really to criticize from the hotel viewpoint. The issue is the noise at night. I had read this on tripadvisor but am somewhat resilient and thought that it would be ok and simply is what... More

Dear Guest, Thankyou for taking time to write a review, the stone town of Zanzibar is a historic town of narrow streets and alleyways and this cannot be avoided it is what gives it its unique charm and character and sets our stone town apart from other historical cities, fortunately the construction next door is also soon to be at an... If I didn't stay in its sister hotel in Paje (Kisiwa on the Beach) I would say it's great but... there were a few thing missing. It can get loud if your rooms are facing the wrong side of the street. The staff is nice but the service is not even close to what we could observe in Paje. Rooms... More

This was the last stop in our recent holiday. The hotel is well positioned for the sights of Stone Town although it is best to make sure you remember some land marks as Stone Town is a Labyrinth of alleyways and you can easily be confused. My landmarks were the DHL parcel office opposite the hotel and the Dhow Palace... More

At the heart of Stone Town, I wouldn't recommend anything else. From the service to the facilities..This hotel is definitely the best option to have an ever lasting memory to Zanzibar. The ambiance dates you back hundreds of years ago..not to the old messed up ages..but the Old Royal ages.

I had high hopes for this hotel. Instead, we had a bad experience. Prior to arrival, everything was fine. The staff were responsive and we were looking forward to our visit. Loved the rooftop breakfast and the staff was very accommodating with a late checkout. We ended up walking to the ferry because traffic got very bad at 3:00 and it's close enough that we could walk.
