Stayed 2 nights. Decent hotel although felt slightly more like an upmarket hostel. Nice communal roof terrace with wifi which has good views over the city. Room was basic but very nice and clean wth nice furnishings. Good air con. Excellent location right in the centre of stone town so really easy to walk everywhere without any problems - just...

Thank you for your feed back. All our rooms are individually decorated. You stayed in one of our rooms with air condition which can also be booked just with fan. We want to offer rooms for different kinds of budgets but all for a rather low budget compared to Stone Town and Zanzibar average rates. At our reception our guest...

Kiponda was the perfect place to explore Stone Town. Close to the Forodhani Night Market and right in the middle of "real life" (without beeing to busy and loud) it was just the right choice for pur plans. Heike and her crew did everything to make our stay just fantastic.

Thank for taking the time to rate our place. We provide all guest with maps of Stone Town even though all major sights are just around the corner. There are so many corners that it is easy to get lost. But Stone Town is not too big so eventually with some patience and our map you will always find your...

The location is perfect for getting around stone town, not in the middle of the tourist hustle and bustle. Very helpful and friendly staff ,helped me organize a couple of day trips. Breakfasts simple but very good, with ground coffee in a french press, big change from instant in most Tanzanian B&Bs. Rooms are clean and comfortable in a building...

Thank you for taking the time to review us to make it easier for other travellers to see whether we are the right place for them to stay. Actually the building the hotel is located in is an old Swahili house dating from around 1835. The thick walls are a bit a problem for phone and wifi but keep the...

Spent two nights here in early November. The location is within easy walking distance of anything in stone town. Better breakfast than other, much more expensive, resorts I visited on the island. Rooms are good for price. All clean. Friendly staff. Happiness

Kiponda B&B is in a great location for a Stone Town stay. The building itself has a nice character and is well-kept. The rooms and common areas were very clean. The rooftop terrace was an especially nice area to relax. The complimentary breakfast was good, but check out nearby street vendors to pick up fresh bread. Staff was friendly and...

Thank you for taking the time to write about us. It is much appreciated. Our hotel is located in an 18th century typical Swahili house and we pride ourselves in offering Swahili hospitality. At our breakfast we offer a kind of rye toast also freshly made in the neighborhood. The local street vendors sell a kind of white bread which...

The Kiponda is situated in an ideal part of Stone Town, being a stones throw away from the markets, shops, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions in the town, but also in a location quiet enough to enjoy a good nights sleep. The rooftop at Kiponda is a great place to sit and get on with some work if you need...

Hello Tom, Thank you for your review. We really appreciate it and its an incentive for us to put even more effort in making our guest feel comfortable here. It is good to hear that you found it relaxing on our rooftop terrace but could still make yourself do some work there (I assume you used the free wifi to...

The location is perfect and near to everything in Stone Town. The building and the rooms have a great rustic, old-world feel, and the people are fantastic! Everyone is incredibly nice and the breakfasts are always something to look forward to. I stayed here on three separate occasions and was very happy every time. If I return to Stone Town...

Hi Jerome, We kind of guessed you like it at Kiponda since you kept coming back in between trips to the different coasts of Zanzibar. But of course you could have had other reasons for coming back and it is good to hear that you were happy here. We almost feel a bit ashamed to take the praise since your...
