That Hotel is wonderful. We recieve a nice service. The room was amazing with beautiful old style wooden furniture. And just because of small problem in the room with AC and toilet we received a bottle of champagne. That is how the customer wants to be treated. The breakfast in the rooftop restaurant has a nice view to ocean. We...

We were sent to stay at this hotel although we had booked another hotel a few minutes away (see my review of Beyt Al Salaam if you're interested). The good parts: The location is good, the rooms good sizes and the interior is nice. The main issues though is cleanliness which a lot of reviewers have brought up. For us...

We stayed here for one night recently before continuing to the east of Zanzibar. The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful, suggesting places to visit etc.- nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation has quaint rooms, with air conditioning. The hotel is situated in the centre of Stone Town and you can easily walk round if you...

While we were visiting Tanzania, we flew over for one night in Zanzibar at Al Johari. The hotel is located in the middle of Stonetown. We went on a walking tour that started at the hotel and lasted three hours. We were able to easily walk to the night market for dinner. The room was nice. Zanzibar is majority muslim....

We spent two nights in the Al Johari. The hotel itself is in a good location but it can get a little noisy, as other reviewers have mentioned. The room we stayed in was a nice size with a comfortable bed, fridge, aircon and many windows. The bathroom was also great with hot water. The TV didn't work but we...

Al Johari Hotel is an old zanzibari house that has been beautifully transformed into a homely hotel. It boasts elegance, class and beautiful antique decor. I arrived into Zanzibar on the daily ferry. I was meant to check in at 5:00PM in the evening. By 7:00PM had not checked in. The hotel called me to find out if everything was...

we spent one night here before we flew back to AA. The staff was friendly, the room large and clean and equipped with an AC, which was quite necessary to suppress the surrounding noise. Breakfast was okay, but the view from the rooftop restaurant was not impressive. Besides the windows were quite dirty. The price was very reasonable and they...

We booked a room for two nights through Expedia on 14 August 2016 in Johari hotel in Zanzibar. We did not stay overnight and requested a full return of $160 dollars because the hotel provided was unfit for human habitation. I request Expedia's reply and a full return of the paid sum of $160 by 21 August 2016. I called...

I'll start with the positives ... The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean. The bathroom is immaculate and there is a fridge, TV and telephone in the room. The 4 poster bed was very very comfy and it had the potential to be a very good hotel. Unfortunately we stayed on a Friday and Saturday night...

We spend two nights at the Al Johari in Stone Town in Zanzibar in July of 2016. We booked with Hotels.com and found out when we got there they didn't know anything about our reservation and had no relationship with Hotels.com. After a tense hour that included a phone call from me at my expense to my credit card company...
