My first safari experience - it did not disappoint! The Selous game reserve surpassed my expectations! We saw everything we wanted - we had a great Guide in Christopher - who has a wealth of knowledge and incredible eyesight! Siwandu was amazing - the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The food was good and plentiful and our accommodation was perfect! It was a truly authentic experience and one I will hopefully repeat!

During a fly in safari we combined Jongomero, Ruaha with Siwandu Selous and had the trip of a lifetime. Siwandu has its own airstrip where we were picked up and after only 10 minutes we arrived at the beautiful camp. The awesome staff welcomed us with towels and a drink and showed us to our tent. Tent number 3 lies close to the lake with an amazing view. When we arrived we had a group of impalas in front of the tent. During our stay we enjoyed an unforgettable boat safari combined with a fresh lunch inside the boat. On the next morning we were taken on the biggest adventure: a walking safari through the bush. Together with two guides we discovered the beautiful flora and fauna of Selous from a completely new angle, an angle that a safari vehicle cannot provide. The excitement and adrenaline rush was a unique experience topped off with a bush breakfast by the lake in views of hippos and crocs. Our luxury tent had an amazing outdoor shower, from which we could even see some animals in the distance. Similar like Jongomero the staff at Siwandu was outstanding and made us feel at home in every second of our stay! We captured this amazing trip on our website with a video, feel free to watch it.

What a magical place. I had read some very good reviews on Siwandu but I was still positively impressed. The tented rooms are as comfortable as they look in the brochures. They are situated very close to the lake and you are likely to be visited by a number of animals - giraffe and hippos for us. This does raise the issue of safety but you will be escorted to your tent in the hours of darkness and if there is any danger - typical of the thought that goes into running this camp. Management and staff can’t do enough to help you. You will be allocated your own guide, bush butler and person to look after your room / tent. Ours were incredibly helpful, friendly and informative. Frank and Maximilian. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. Be prepared for one of the many surprises they organise for you. The food. Quite Outstanding! Brilliant and authentic game drives in a huge reserve - with our brilliant guide, Frank. Unreservedly recommended.

We chose the Selous and Siwandu to avoid the mass migration of tourists that spoils so many safari experiences and it exceeded all expectations. The facilities in the camp are most comfortable, the food was exceptional and more than plentiful, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff outstanding with various "surprise" events laid on for guests....very pleasant ones I should add! We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed game drives during which we ticked off all the wild animals we hoped to see including a pack of wild dogs, two of whom made short work of an impala with sound effects that will linger in the memory. Our driver Mohamed was a delightful and highly experienced guide, the vehicles are all proper long wheel Land Rovers with an open tiered passenger deck and comfortable seating, capable of negotiating any terrain. We have no hesitation in recommending Siwandu for a real quality safari experience.

Siwandu is a small luxurious safari property. 13 glamping tents are separated in two camps. The tents are far enough from one another that you rarely feel the presence of other guests. But you don’t go there to enjoy your tent or the camp - the wildlife are the star of the show. The guides know their stuff and are enthusiastic to indulge any special request- in my case it was to see eland antelopes. For two days of game drives I managed to see the highly endangered wild dogs, hyena, lion in the middle of feeding, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and countless pretty birds.
