I just had an amazing stay at this wonderful place - three nights wasn't long enough. The tents are spacious, clean and very comfortable, the showers are amazing, and the food is outstanding. It's obvious that Dionesia and Yanni are passionate about what they do. They went out of their way to make sure that every guest had their needs... More

Stayed here with a group of kids from the school I work at in England. We booked for one night to go on safari the following day. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Right from the start nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted by Maddie and Yanni who own and run Tandala, They explained everything... More

Your hosts, Maddie and Yanni, are the sort of people who really enjoy making guests feel at home. This is a small camp, and guests have the option of being alone or mingling with others. Maddie and Yanni have built a drinking trough less than 100m from the viewing bar, so in the dry season there is a constant stream... More

The hyenas are noisy. So are the crickets. The odd puff adder will only upset a leave or two as it passes under your tent on stilts. The mighty elephants may pass close by on their way to the watering hole by the lodge and you will not hear a sound. This is wilderness! Tandala Tented Camp is a paradise... More

I lived not to far from Ruaha, and this is where all the expats in the area and well to do Tanzanians go for their safaris in Ruaha. After being out in the park all day you can sit down with a book and watch animals come into the watering hole, or talk story with John (or Yani) the owner.... More

We stayed one night at Tandala and highly recommend it in all respects. The owner, Jani, welcomed us warmly despite arriving at Tandala unannounced due to floods cutting off access to Ruaha. Initially we only called in for lunch, but we decided to stay the night because the camp was stunning. It's a beautiful place to stay, deep in the... More

With rising river levels, we only managed to stay one night. ... But this is glamping rather than camping. The tents are fantastic, up on stilts and perfectly safe, with amazing bathrooms, plenty of hot water, electricity all night and free wifi in the lodge. John made us feel very welcome. The highlight was a visit to a Masai village... More
