We had a wonderful 2-night stay there at the lodge. It beat any expectations that I had prior to going. We were welcomed by the staff with smiles and juice. The check-in was easy, and we were shown our way to our room by the local Maasai. We stayed in #24. If you can, ask for that! It has a beautiful view of Lake Manyara and is just gorgeous. The bed was large and comfy. The bathroom was large and plenty of room for 2 people to get ready at the same time. They also spray down your room at night and prepare your room for bed. Dinner was scrumptious. They offer you a menu of the day with a 3-course meal, soup, main entrée and sides and dessert. The Butternut Squash soup was impeccable. There was plenty of food and everyone was kind and treated you like family. We also had box lunches from them. There was sooooo much food and it was all good!! We had beef, a vegetable empanada (it may not be called that but that’s what it reminded me of), fruit, yogurt, cookies, bread, a boiled egg and juice. There was plenty of food!! I highly recommend staying there along with using their services for box lunches!! This is a place where they treat you like “familia”, family!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

My wife, twelve year old son and I stayed here one night in mid-March. The tent itself was spacious and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was very good and so was the entertainment provided by the acrobats. But above all else, the service was spectacular, and we left the next morning feeling like we had visited long lost family friends. We certainly hope to visit again!

One of the best places we stayed at during our 3 week touring Tanzania. Brilliant, spacious tent with a lovely view, fantastic views and service from the bar terrace ( also best place to see the sunrise) and Joel and his staff made us feel so welcome in the dining room. We were self-driving and the road was not very good after all the recent unseasonal rain but manageable. 400m in from the main road, there is a small orphans’ school with a sign outside Happy Home Centre run by a lovely lady Angela Chabai. Well worth a stop over. We gave them some unwanted lunch boxes and had such a lovely interaction with the orphans that we ended up raising some funds for them

In my 23 day Africa trip, this was my least favorite lodge. The view from the tented room should have been enough for it was spectacular, but it wasn't. After spending the day at Lake Manyara, the long drive down a heavily rutted road was tough. We arrived at the lodge and were guided to our room by Maasi. It was nicely appointed with a beautiful deck and a stunning view. I decided to go the the bar for a drink, some wifi and to enjoy the view. Finally finding my way there, there was no one in attendance behind the bar. One other couple was enjoying a glass of wine. I waited for a while. I asked the couple about a bartender- they spoke enough English to tell me he had left and that there was no wifi here. I waited a while longer- no bartender. I left and went to the restaurant. They told me that wifi was better at reception. I went to reception where there is a counter, an unpleasant looking love seat, and several staff phones plugged in and sitting on the sofa.I tried to connect to wifi but the signal was too weak. I waited at the restaurant for my friend to join me. While I waited I got my cocktail and listened to the tree frogs. There were so loud, I don't know how the people seat next to them could hold a conversation. The manager and wait staff seemed very concerned that I was seated alone. I explained I was enjoying my cocktail while I waited for my friend to join me. They must have thought I was lonely because they would not stop trying to engage me in conversation. My friend arrived and we had another buffet dinner (#11). Again the staff came to the table multiple times. Finally we asked if they would wait to come to the table until we signaled them. At last we could enjoy a quiet meal, when we heard a scream and loud music. A floor show in that tiny banda. We finished our meal quickly and left. We settled into our comfortable room for the night. A short time later, disco music for the near by village began playing late into the night. I wouldn't return here no matter how great the view.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Kirurumu Manyara Lodge. The staff was incredible friendly, the rooms were large and comfortable, the food was delicious, and the views of Lake Manyara and the valley are stunning. This place is situated in a jungle setting on top of a ravine that overlooks the lake. We enjoyed sipping wine while watching the sunset over the lake and valley. Overall the Kirurumu made us feel very special and welcome. It is in close proximity to Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park so is a good stopping point for visiting that area. I would highly recommend this lodge, and would definitely stay their again. Good stuff!

The Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is located at a beautiful site with a fantastic view of Lake Manyara. The restaurant is an open air setup, apart from the lake view, there are also many birds and squirrels frequently visiting us while we are having our lunch.
We had a very large room which was very clean, but the zips in our tent were not functioning well, we couldn’t zip the tent’s canvas walls. Consequently, we had a very cold night. The other big problem is our shower, the water flow is very low and the hot water wasn’t really hot. As we only stayed there for one night, we didn’t make a fuss about it.
The lodge’s food is quite nice and staff are wonderful, they are very friendly and kind.

Accommodation was spacious, comfortable and clean. Dinner was very good, staff in the bar, dining area were very good, friendly and helpful. The only drawback was that it advertises as accepting credit cards, but in fact their machine wasn't even charged so obviously we got the standard reply everyone was getting : service is not working. The receptionist was not very helpful and eventually the Manager came and sorted the problem out for us. So, many thanks. Best thing would be to say they don't accept credit cards. Seems other visitors have had the same problem...

We stayed 1 night as we made our way from Arusha to the Serengeti. The views from our tent and the bar were incredible!! A fantastic place to relax and put the legs up after a long journey or safari. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived, a group of traditional Masai carried our bags in and we were met at the bar by a friendly, happy lady(wish I remember her name-she was fantastic!!). Food was great and the room was big and comfy! Really hope this place gets busy during peak season as it is great!!

Hotel, food, staff are pleasant. Very long walk to rooms with no way to contact front desk. Arranging anything is 1/4 mile walk each way. $9 per shot of vodka and a 7% up charge for using Visa card (their machine didn’t work) was very excessive.

This is a good budget lodge for the average traveler. Adequate accommodations. Limited Wi-Fi in just the bar area makes for an inconvenience in communicating. Food was good, served mostly buffet style. The staff were all very nice.
