Detailed Reviews
We stayed here on the night between a 2-day safari. Due to covid they were at low occupancy and upgraded us for free from a camping accommodation to a room accommodation which was very appreciated!
When we arrived we were greeted at a registration tent that was a little dilapidated. We also given a dinner menu upon arrival and we were confused if we were eating there or not. Turns out we were just signing in
Our host introduced himself as "Mr. Perfect", because he wanted our stay to be perfect. He was nice and took good care of us. When we were greeted there were 4 other staff at the registration tent just kind of watching us, which felt a little weird
The rooms were pretty decent, including a shower. We were given the caveat that at any time the power could go out and we wouldn't be able to shower. Our room had a small 14-inch TV that we didn't try using. Also, there was no air-conditioning and was instead 2 ceiling fans. We didn't try the shower, so I can't speak to that
The dinner restaurant was great and the staff were excellent! The food was very good! I would have eaten there again
Two downsides fo the campus were that some of the campus was in disarray. Some of the camping tent sites were collapsed and left in dissary, which gave the vibe that they weren't especially organized. I feel like it would have been better if the tents were fixed or removed instead of left collapsed and just lying around. Also, there was a souviner shop on campus and the shop attendant was pretty persistent on trying to get us to come to the store. I don't like when people try to push me to purchase things from them. Especially at the place I am staying at where I don't feel like I can escape from them. I appreciate having a souvenir shop, but it should be up to me if I want to go in and the shop owner shouldn't come and approach me trying to coax me to go buy his wares
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and were thankful for Fanaka's accomodations

We stayed 1 night during a safari. We stayed in a tent provided by the tour company which also provided a guide and a private cook.
The camp site was generally fine, if a bit noisy. It is fenced off with guards for security. The camp has a pool, washrooms and a dining area. The staff seemed nice although most of the interaction was done by our guide.
As always when travelling, don't leave valuables in your tent if you are not there.

Fanaka is often used by the Safari tours as it lies on the way from Tarangire to Ngorongoro and offers town amenities. It's off the main road in a silent garden. You can also camp there.
The rooms are plain but beds are comfortable with mosquito net, ventilator and nice hot shower. The included dinner (buffet) and breakfast are plenty and delicious. There is also a pool (if you have time to use it) and a little hut where a local is selling his arts and crafts.

They were really messy, and I would never use them again.
I had very bad experience with Fanaka because of one guy ( the swimming pool guy ) and the management.
We check in from Arusha to Fanaka Camp at lunch time. We had our meals ready and we showed where we will sleep for 2 days.
Complain:
After the meal we went to the swimming pool for swimming. This is were the problem starts .
As I get my feet in the swimming pool the pool guy shout at me that I can’t swim just because we didn’t pay in front of other guests. I felt very negative about that as our leader was processing the payment for the 2 days at Fanaka camp.
I asked him what is the problem with that as we had meals and tents to sleep for us without paying anything as planed to pay before Checking out.
He’s was so rude with us and didn’t want any explanation than stoping us around the pool area.
With small mind you will think that it’s is Racism because other guest swim without paying anything.
I will not recommend this property for accommodation and swimming but the meal was great.
I going to post this to all reviews website even if they will delete my review but this information will help you to decide .

It was a one night stay for our group, between Tarangire and Ngorongoro safari days. My room was in a bungalow with our own patio, I liked it very much. And it was by the pool, which I used immediatelly. Furniture in the room was clean and basic, and the beds were very comfortable, with good mosquito nets (we didn't see a single one, though). Abundant warm water in the shower. The grounds of the lodge are very well maintained, with lots of flowers. We were given a very nice buffet dinner and, at the request of our group leader, a very early breakfast, at 5 am, so that we can make it to Ngorongoro before the crowds. Another feature to mention is St. Jude Catholic church close by and a lively village one can experience walking just outside the grounds of the lodge.

I spent 2 weeks 'living' at the Fanaka Lodge in early February. While there, the staff took excellent care of me, everything from remembering how I like my breakfast to making sure there was bottled water in my room. The were friendly and happy to help.

Placed near to the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and only a couple of hours from Arusha makes it an idea stopover.
With its little pool, friendly staff and clean rooms, it is very very comfortable,
The rooms and showers are a bit tired and dated, but spotlessly clean.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and as regular visitor it feels like home from home.

Would avoid staying here. It was booked for us as part of our safari and was awful.
Staff in the 'restaurant', if you could call it that, were extremely rude. Pool is dirty with turkeys drinking out of it.
Room was basic with an unpleasant smell. Shower was terrible. Food was buffet style and the area did not appear clean.
We were very glad we were here for just one night and would avoid this place.

We stayed at Fanaka for 3 nights during our Safari (so we do not know the amount paid). The rooms are quite small and very simple, decent breakfast as well as dinner, although repetitive in the proposals. Friendly staff. Very convenient for proximity to Manyara National Park

Tiny rooms with double bed against the window on one side (window not opening and access to the bed on one side only), with stained and pierced sheets without bedside tables and no comfort. Very little care in the maintenance of the structure. Much better the tent!
