Detailed Reviews
Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp (3*) Standard Room Lake Manyara Situated in a picturesque location amidst rolling grassland with views across the floodplains of the Rift Valley, this property offers a mix of tented and lodge style rooms. The thatched main building contains a simple lounge along with a dining room designed in a traditional African style and there is a small pool surrounded by pretty gardens. The 16 cottage rooms are set in two storey thatched buildings scattered around the grounds with a balcony or terrace while the 10 canvas tents each have a veranda (all fan cooled). This property is unfenced so animals may be seen around the camp and you may be escorted to your room at night. Standard Cottage. The main lodge is well laid out and the food was good. The service overall was excellent and the staff very helpful. Our room had good views of the lake allowing us to get our first taste of the wild. Its a good lodge however make sure you get a good lodge/room. Overall its a good start to your safari. and near the the first area

We had a tent near the lake and it was very pleasant. Well, it wasn't a real lent, but a semi tent in a permanent structure. The beds were great, loads of hot water, malaria nets etc.
We only had one night hee, but the food was excellent, as were the staff who are so friendly and cheerful.
Can't find anything to criticise

Stayed here for two nights. We had Faru room facing the lake with wonderful views of the lake and the sunsets. The swimming pool facing the sunset was also a great experience after the safaris. The food was a la carte as there were just a few clients staying during covid time. It was excellent quality and presentation. The staff was very courteous and willing to help. Overall we had an excellent stay here.

Please BEWARE: Despite positive reviews in the past, this now seems to be a very troubled business. We booked 2 luxury tents at Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp for June 1-3 2022 and to our complete shock we were abruptly turned away upon check in. They refused to accept our Expedia reservation there and said they no longer worked with Expedia or accepted Expedia reservations. We called the owner on his cell phone and he said the name of the place had changed to Manyara Lakeview Oasis and that they were no longer recognizing Expedia reservations for Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp - despite the fact that we made the reservation on May 12 2022 and the Expedia listing is still active as I write this.
The even larger problem is that we had already paid in full through Expedia for the stay and we were stuck in the middle of an isolated wilderness area after dark with no where to go and 4 kids with us. In more than 30 years of traveling internationally I have never experienced this type of complete scam and recklessness in connection with an accommodation.

We had a tentroom with private balcony.
The rooms were outdated and damaged, especially the bathroom.
All amenities were present but lacked comfort.
The pool and sunbeds are also outdated and not so comfortable to lie in.
The food on the other hand was really good and the staff are very very friendly and helpful. Our driver was much to late to pick us up for a night safari and the staff of the hotel immediately drove us there themselves.

We stayed one night and were disappointed. We were with family and our children were put in a Cabin opposite ours. Very convenient for common business and family vacation spirit. We reported it as soon as we arrived but no one heeded our request let alone Tanzania Specialist to whom we sent a message immediately. The cabins are not closed on the outside fortunately there is a mosquito net on the bed. The toilet in the bathroom separated from the bedroom by a curtain... no privacy. Dinner is imposed and the box was not great.

Fantastic stay.
We stayed for one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
The bar and restaurant area is lovely, nicely decorated and lots of space. Good cocktails and views.
The food was delicious and true African dishes! We even had entertainment with a troupe of African dancers and acrobats which was great!
The rooms are separate bungalows, with fantastic views from the terrace. The camp is not fenced and so you have to be escorted to and from your room during darkness. Whilst we were there an elephant was seen just yards from the pathway! It was amazing to be in the heart of nature!
Fabulous staff too!

The tent was dilapidated (broken zippers for the windows so we had to sleep with an “open” window) and the tent closed with a padlock (no door with key). We left them a comment to this effect.
No shampoo (not cool at all) and a trickle of water dripping from the shower: big disappointment.
The pool water was cloudy and there was a bad smell around the pool. the dinner was good but the lunch boxes were not very filling and not very refined Vs the dinner (a vegetable wrap, no meat).
The welcome and the staff are very good.
