Migombani Camp is a modern campsite located high in the Rift Valley, with Lake Manyara at your doorstep. The campsite offers lush green gardens to pitch your own tent or hire one. Enjoy a cool drink from our bar and restaurant. And be blown away by the spectacular views from our infinity pool!
We stayed at the cottage (not camping in a tent) and it was a very comfortable stay. The cottage was huge. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were well-equipped, tastefully decorated, and quiet. The porch outside provided a nice view of Lake Manyara. It was a short walk to the main camp area, which was beautifully kept. The pool area, dining room, and the lovely baobab tree were all very inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. I wanted some hot water for the cottage and they gave me a whole pot that stayed warm the entire night. We highly recommend staying here, especially the cottage.

I spent my time at Migombani in Dec 2019, Christmas time. The camp is lively with so many interesting things to see. Friendly staff, gave very helpful information and advice, notably the manager, she played a key role when I lost my phone and got it back. I loved the pool area a lot and the lawns, the quiet nights, tents were immaculate and the place is very clean which makes you feel relaxed in the true wilderness of Africa. Very many thanks to all others who made my stay at Migombani an unforgettable moment. Will always long to return to Migombani

This was a part of my 5 day itinerary with Tanzania GET Safaris and my first experience at “glamping”
We arrived late afternoon just in time to relax a bit before dinner. As we were the sole guests that night, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, feeling extra special that we had the place to ourselves; on the flip hoping that soon the place would see many more visitors (brining income to the area 👍🏽).
The on site restaurant has a lounge area off to the side with a table and pillows. It was the perfect spot for me to chill with my adult beverage before heading to bed.
My tent was directly in front of the showers so it was convenient. Another thing I really liked was that they provided a lamp placed directly outside of my tent (for extra lighting).
Highlights: the pool (tho the next morning before breakfast there was slight drizzle and when I dipped my toes in the water felt a bit chilly (no complaints). I still enjoyed sitting on one of the many lawn chairs.
Another plus were the Maasai men who serve as “security” They were welcoming & engaged me in conversation, making me feel so very welcome.
One very special added bit of attention was that after dinner, I was given a small piece of dark chocolate cake as a complimentary dessert. What the staff didn’t know was how I had been craving for chocolate over the past few days. Since I didn’t eat it all, I asked if they would save it in the fridge for me.
The following morning, a wait staff member brought it out so I had it with my coffee. Such a sweet & thoughtful touch.
Would absolutely consider a return visit for longer stay.
Asante sana to the staff at Migombani.

We were advised about this campsite by some friends and it proved to be exceptionally beautiful. The green lawn with almost no thorns (only around a few trees) is awesome for playing frisbee and other social sports as well as for camping. The pool is beautifully situated overlooking the park and lake and provides a welcome disturbance from the hot days. A baobab tree that must be at least 500 years old and is furnished with a (stick) ladder for climbing also provides a fun experience, especially for children and teens. Very Masaai staff is very friendly and they helped us to retrieve our frisbee which unfortunaley landed in some trees twice. I will always remember this as the most beautiful campsite certainly in Tanzania, maybe even Africa.

Our one-night stay at Migombani was comfortable, quiet, and absolutely peaceful after a long drive from the crater. The infinity pool was a sight for sore eyes and we all had fun dipping our feet in and enjoying the view. The bathrooms/toilets were communal (the only annoyance) but they were clean and well looked after. Our beds in the tent were comfortable and cozy. Wished we'd had stayed another night.

Nice campsite, clean toilet, nice showers, nice bar with good Wi-Fi. There are tents at the campsite, they look good and toilets are close by. We slept in smaller tents, which can be rented down the road, which are also fine but less luxurious.

The campsite is beautiful, clean and very good equipped. The view at the frontside is amazing. From our roof tent we had lake view.
The staff is really nice. We ordered food, but didn’t know in advance, that they need 1,5 hours to prepare it. So simply order early enough. 😉 The shower has warm water, which was a nice variety to the campsites before. 😂
Here are a lot of small flies, which really embarassed us. But it‘s of course not the fault of camp staff/owners.
The way from the main street up to the camp is adventurous. 😂

Migombani camp situated on a shelf on the Rift Valley escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara is a real gem! This is not rough bush camping, but comfortable luxury camping. The site is neat with green well manicured grass, clean toilets and baths with solar heated water. The kitchen area is big enough for several households to use at the same time. If you want to up the experience a little more you can rent one of the permanent tents for a reasonable price and order your meal in the bar/restaurant. The swimming pool overlooking the valley is a beautiful spot! Staff is friendly and hospitable You can’t ask for more from a campsite in Africa! We decided to add one more night than planned, just to relax in this beautiful environment.

We love the campsite with great views over lake Manyara. Children can enjoy the pool and play on the greens around. The camping spots are beautiful with very clean sanitary facilities and the kitchen is spacious and cleaned well. The restaurant serves great food of different cuisines.

Even though the facilities are nice and clean, the bar is rediculously overpriced. I'm giving one star for the following experience: 6 twenty year old girls were just having drinks at eight PM and got kicked out (had to leave with their tent) because they were "causing trouble". They were not. They were just laughing and enjoying themselves. Apparently their crew was too mouthy against the staff and so they had to leave, but the girls had nothing to do with it. I talked with the owner but he would not listen to reason. Shame of this experience, and shame to kick young girls out on the street which were not causing trouble.

Thank you for your comments. First of all, we have to say that we very much regret the fact that it had to turn out this way, both for the 6 young ladies and the 6 supervisors of the safari company, consisting of 2 directors and 4 staff members. We have also been young and completely understand that young people want to party and enjoy themselves, preferably until the middle of the night, as they said were planning to. We like to see our guests enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, while having a beer or a glass of wine. When the evening has fallen it is wonderful to hear that people are chatting pleasantly near the camp fire and that every now and then a burst of laughter breaks the silence of the night. We don't mind if you use the facilities of the bar or rather consume your own food and drinks in the vicinity of the outdoor kitchen or your tents. At Migombani Camp it is one of our priorities and qualities to be a serene and peaceful place, and we would like to keep it that way. We have therefore indicated in our Camp Rules - found on our website, being sent to all safari companies that request our rates and included on the registration form for guests - that any behavior that could undermine the tranquility of the camp or upset other guests will not be accepted. We have warned both the ladies and staff members of the safari company several times, but unfortunately without any understanding. It is a pity that especially the safari company did not show more responsibility. Again, we very much regret that we had to ask the safari company and their guests to leave, as this is our very last resort but we did not have any other option. If you want to enjoy natural beauty and tranquility or have some family fun, then Migombani Camp is the perfect place. But if you want to go out, enjoy loud music and party then you are probably better off at one of the other camps in Mto wa Mbu.
