Lovely grounds with spacious and comfortable tents. The pool is very scenic (if not the cleanest--seemed a bit murky). Clean and stylish toilets and showers with good water pressure and warm water and well-stocked bar with charging facilities (none in the room). Also free wi-fi is available (switched off overnight). The food was excellent. The waitress was very friendly but some of the other staff seems a bit unhappy.

Even though the facilities are nice and clean, the bar is rediculously overpriced. I'm giving one star for the following experience: 6 twenty year old girls were just having drinks at eight PM and got kicked out (had to leave with their tent) because they were "causing trouble". They were not. They were just laughing and enjoying themselves. Apparently their crew was too mouthy against the staff and so they had to leave, but the girls had nothing to do with it. I talked with the owner but he would not listen to reason. Shame of this experience, and shame to kick young girls out on the street which were not causing trouble.

Room Tip: Avoid getting the 2 dollar chips. It's advertised as a bag but you get a small plate... Silly.

Thank you for your comments. First of all, we have to say that we very much regret the fact that it had to turn out this way, both for the 6 young ladies and the 6 supervisors of the safari company, consisting of 2 directors and 4 staff members. We have also been young and completely understand that young people want to party and enjoy themselves, preferably until the middle of the night, as they said were planning to. We like to see our guests enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, while having a beer or a glass of wine. When the evening has fallen it is wonderful to hear that people are chatting pleasantly near the camp fire and that every now and then a burst of laughter breaks the silence of the night. We don't mind if you use the facilities of the bar or rather consume your own food and drinks in the vicinity of the outdoor kitchen or your tents. At Migombani Camp it is one of our priorities and qualities to be a serene and peaceful place, and we would like to keep it that way. We have therefore indicated in our Camp Rules - found on our website, being sent to all safari companies that request our rates and included on the registration form for guests - that any behavior that could undermine the tranquility of the camp or upset other guests will not be accepted. We have warned both the ladies and staff members of the safari company several times, but unfortunately without any understanding. It is a pity that especially the safari company did not show more responsibility. Again, we very much regret that we had to ask the safari company and their guests to leave, as this is our very last resort but we did not have any other option. If you want to enjoy natural beauty and tranquility or have some family fun, then Migombani Camp is the perfect place. But if you want to go out, enjoy loud music and party then you are probably better off at one of the other camps in Mto wa Mbu.

We spent two nights at the camp and it was a very positive experience. It was chosen by our safari organizer. We stayed in one of the tents. It is simple but clean and very comfortable. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Since our first visit almost two years ago, we have stayed at Migombani every time we passed it on our travels. It is a true gem of beauty and I cannot imagine a greater place to relax. This time we went to Migombani just for this purpose, to stay there, relax and renew our energy away from home.
