This is the sort of place we'll come back to again and again. We chose Kaoxa because it's right next to Mapungubwe - a place of extraordinary beauty and fascinating history. Koaxa's setting is just as beautiful, with outstanding views across the kopjies to Botswana and Zimbabwe. The cottages are simple but have electricity and fans. The swimming pool is... More

This camp is far from the usual tourist areas, but since we had some matters to take care of in the more-or-less nearby town of Musina, it was a nice place to enjoy the quiet of the bush. We stayed in a safari tent, which was comfortable and clean. The communal kitchen had everything you needed for preparing whatever food... More

It's difficult to rate this beautiful place effectively, because it might not suit everybody's taste, but for me it was absolutely perfect. I have visited several times and the peace just seeps into my soul. It would not be classed as luxurious, but certainly comfortable and clean and extremely well managed by passionate, kind and hospitable staff who obviously love... More

The setting of the property is lovely. There are great bushman rock drawings near by. The bungalows are okay. The staff forgot to provide extra blankets even though the temperature at night was very cold.

We only stayed for 1 night, as we were basically transiting from Kruger to Botswana. However, another time, I'd stay longer. It is a beautiful place to be - the views are just stunning. The rooms are beautiful, made to make the most of their natural surroundings. We travelled as a family (2 adults, 3 children) and the kids loved... More

We stayed in Kaoxa Bush camp for 3 nights and it was an awesome bush experience. We were surrounded by a dramatic landscape with a view on the Botswana savanna plain. We were the only guests and it was amazing. Virginia was so kind and friendly. her husband took us on a short hike in the bush to see the... More

We were to Kaoxa one of our first weekends in South Africa and were overwhelmed. The facilitys were great - everything you needed. And it was so in to the nature. We drove in our own car to spot games and saw a lot espesially in the morning. To see the rock art we had the very helpful intendent to... More

I love this bush camp. A real no frills, creature comfort experience at the heart of the Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape. Exquisite views and magnificent wildlife are real highlights along with some of the finest San Rock Art sites in South Africa. The staff are unobtrusive yet incredibly friendly and efficient. Highly recommended self catering bush camp.

As a family of 7, we took advantage of the 3 night stay special rate which made it affordable. Could have spent another 3 days. Ideally situated so close to Mapangupbwe and Pontdrift to do day trips. Up close with nature in a very comfortable setting which has it all. Chalets spaced out for privacy, view incredible, kitchen better equipped... More

Clean, friendly, luxurious, comfy, hot water, cold fridges: CHECK. Spectacular setting, quiet, great vegetation, plentiful birds (and game - was I lucky?): CHECK. NOT over-the-top, thank goodness, CHECK. Private space, lovely walks and drives, CHECK. My Kinda Place! Well worth a longer visit.
