We have just spent three days at at Three Trees. Cheryl, Simon, Willhem and Ryna were delightful and so helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and the food is fantastic. We rode their horses, which was exciting without being over the top. The game walk is brilliant - rhino, giraffe, zebra all in a great location. The highlight was the...

Three Trees is a place one wants to come back to!! The wooden lodge oozes history and coziness and is set in the most beautiful African landscape dotted with aloes and acacia trees. The rooms are big and set apart chalets, with a very spacious shower and separate bath and a terrace with views to remember.... The lounge and dining...

We stayed at Three Trees for 2 nights in the fantastic "Churchill" room and we really enjoyed and loved it. The game walk with Simon which brought us very close to 3 Rhinos, the quietness and relaxed atmosphere, the friendly staff, the very good food and wines, and the proximity to the northern Drakensberg. Thanks to the whole team for...

What an amazing place. Simon and Cheryl and their staff do everything to make you welcome. The food is excellent and accommodation blissful. From the veranda of our cabin we could see Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra and a lot more. Ron, the Boer War battlefield guy, was very knowledgeable and made the visits to Spioenkop, and Calenzo fascinating. Great visits to...

Overseas friends had rated this as a highlight of their stay in SA so it was time to see if it really was that good. In fact it exceeded expectations. Loved the unique cottages in keeping with the Boer War period with a stoep that looked out over a well stocked game reserve with Spionskop towering above. Lots to do,...

I stopped for 2 nights at Three Trees at Spioenkop while on route from Jo'burg to Durban. Despite the fact that the last 10 km are over unpaved roads, the lodge is easily accessible. And then you are in a little paradise, with the owners and personnel making you feel at home from the very first minute. The cabins are...

I have stayed at Three Trees many times now, and we will keep coming back. It ihas a unique and totally authentic mixture of comfort and wilderness. It mixes history (Boer War) and wildlife. It is the epitome of the New South Africa, as embodied in Simon, Cheryl, their kids, their staff and their commitment. And the dogs!
