This resort is a real mixed bag and I would love to visit again in non Covid times when I hope I’d be able to give it 5 stars. To start with, the location is stunning. The kind of scenery you usually only find on abandoned corners of the earth. The pool, grounds and beaches are all gorgeous. These aren’t the vast beaches you have loungers on, they are beaches you can watch angel fish swim right up to the shore and go swimming in the crystal water. There are plenty of places for lying out and swimming elsewhere if that’s what you fancy. The accommodation here is great. We had a gorgeous villa with stunning ocean and sunset views. There is also a fabulous jacuzzi bath with its own view out over the ocean. The rooms could do with a little updating with slightly more modern amenities, but they are big and have great air conditioning, lots of storage, comfy beds, private decks and views. The cleaning wasn’t great and floors remained dusty, as did anything left in place for more than 24h. This is particularly disappointing during Covid. The main negative of this hotel for us was the service, primarily in the bars and restaurants. I don’t know if it’s a Covid staffing issue or not but it just wasn’t good enough and nowhere near 5 star. The restaurants and bars have amazing views and the cocktails are great. The staff are friendly but not focused and as such one evening we waited more than 90 minutes for our food to arrive. Credit where it’s due, they took it off our bill, but that was our experience across the board. Breakfast is particularly haphazard, I assume because it used to be a buffet. The delays to order then get your food are long and there is no proactive service - no one asks if you need anything. In fact, I would have raised all of these issues at check out except no one bothered to ask about our stay. The lower deck is an exception. The small bar had two designated staff and had quick and friendly service with stunning cocktails and an unbeatable view and atmosphere. The food itself is fine but not 5 star. For a vegetarian like me the options are really quite limited and after a week I’d had everything at least twice (we weren’t allowed to leave the resort for the first five days). It’s reasonably priced for a resort, as is the alcohol. This resort is all about the location and potential which are easily five star. But the service means it’s more like a good three or average four. Another example was having our bags taken at check in and told they’d be brought to the room (great) to then have to make two separate phone calls and wait almost two hours to have them actually brought to the room. A final example was on the day of check out we went to the arrivals pavilion to get our bags to see that they were left out, entirely unattended, along with the bags of several other departing guests. If you are all about privacy and just want a lovely villa and some peace then this should be top of your list. But if you find it hard to relax when service is bad, there’s better on the island for less money.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I decided to spend the weekend at Hilton Northolme Resort & spa. The hotel is kept to the standard, the rooms and the hotel surroundings are sanitized every day. The dinner and breakfast is delicious and the room service is excellent, always on time. The staff is very helpful and very welcoming.

Sadly Hilton as a brand lacks consistency which is a shame. We spent 5 nights in a sunset villa. Our welcome was not so great as we were dropped off at the reception lounge and no one was there, we waited and waited until finally my husband picked up the landline and called for someone to check us in. A guy names Amr came in and said ‘give me your passports’, I think the shock in my eyes prompted him to think for a minute that he should step back and greet us first! We came from Hilton La Briz and we used the Hilton ferry with transfer so I do not understand how they did not expect our arrival. Checked in and entered our room to the sound of the Power puff girls on full blast on the TV which was weird and jarring. The room smelt damp but this was later fixed. One thing which was super annoying was if the upstairs guest used the bathroom facilities we could hear the pipes loudly very close to the wall next to the bed. Our bad luck that they needed the facilities at 3 and 5am! On our last night at around 1am I heard someone playing with what sounded like a basketball, not sure if the night watchmen got bored but it woke me up and I’m sure others too. The food is incredible at this property, real fine dining and a very passionate French chef with high standards for this menu and food quality. The Chef, Amanda the FnB manager and restaurant and bar staff are a real asset. The gin bar with viewing deck is beautiful, it’s just a pity not more guest acknowledge it. This might be an introduction issue at front desk. The pool is small and definitely not enough sunbeds with the only two umbrellas broken and guests constantly having to ask for towels. They are renovating so hopefully all of this is taken into consideration. The ‘beach area’ needs to be cleaned up with the rocks moved so guests have a foot path - small stuff make a big difference! The small bay has plenty of fish to see if snorkeling is your thing. The location of the hotel is good, the views are spectacular and the food is incredible. A few local reception staff (Amr included) need retraining as their attitude was obvious and felt. I must mention a Russian lady did step in and tried her best to make sure guests were happy but one person should not shoulder the responsibility of a team and you are only as strong as your weakest link in hospitality. My husband mentioned the property is adults only but I assume this has changed and we saw a few kids. Pluses is that covid tests are administered on property and they are building shower facilities for those who have late flights. Overall we had a good holiday but this property needs working on to compete on the same service level as the other Hilton’s in its league.

We spent our "transit stay" here whilst travelling from a category 1 country on the Seychelles Covid-19 travel requirements at the time. It was a fantastic place to spend our transit stay where we couldn't leave the hotel. Highlights were: our villa on the ocean edge with private balcony & stunning view, the best snorkeling we found on our whole trip across 3 islands in the Seychelles on the hotel beach, kayaks for free use, extensive cocktail menu and stunning setting for the hotel. It truly is a beautiful place. The only thing we wished had been better was the service - it was very, very slow. At first we thought perhaps we just needed to adjust to the new slower pace vs. home, but we didn't find the same at any of the other 3 hotels we stayed at in the Seychelles. All food & drink took a long time to arrive, e.g. every breakfast took over an hour. On some nights it was clear that the kitchen & waiters could not keep up with the number of diners, and our meal took over 1 hour from ordering to arrive. We also tried to reserve a table in one of the prime balcony spots for our last evening, which somehow didn't work for us when other guests were able to manage it. We wonder if it's the type of place where you need to tip for this kind of reservation, which is disappointing.

We stayed for 14days at the hotel and I will say it’s the BEST HOTEL I’ve ever been..! Ranking it not just by the room, hotel amenities, food, drinks, but most of all the STAFFS.. They are all amazing and helpful with everything..! From doing our quarantine for 5days, to our COVID tests twice, to our wedding, to our honeymoon trip, to our unexpected extension due to travel ban, and making our hotel room feel like home.. They have an amazing food and drinks.. Also a lot of activities while we’re under quarantine, they have nice jacuzzi at our room with great view from the balcony, an infinity pool, 2 beaches for snorkeling and kayaking..! Not to mention their beautiful garden around the area.. SIMPLY THE BEST..!
