Having booked a trek to summit Mt Toubkal, I booked to stay one night at the lodge prior to the trek. Communication with the owner was easy and quick and I was met when first arriving in Imlil. It is a bit of a walk up the hill to the lodge (but nothing compared to Toubkal), and I quickly settled in. I was shown a beautiful room and had access to a terrace overlooking the valley. Absolutely stunning! I was then treated to an amazing home cooked dinner which was one of the best I had while in Morocco. The owner and his family were extremely welcoming and rightly proud of their beautiful accommodation. I highly recommend this location for solo or in a group.
Firstly this is not just a place to stay. This is an authentic and incredible experience for staying literally amongst mountains and experiencing life of the locals. Lachen and his warming family truly make this incredible. On the first night i learnt to cook a tagine and got to dress in their traditional clothes. I had no plans the next day and Lachen arranged a guide to take me to the mountains with a lunch provided. Breakfast and dinner is served with generous proportions. Ofcourse the view is simply sensational. I could not recommend this enough!
A truly amazing and unique experience! Everything was perfect! We were a group of 4 people, who were brought by a very friendly driver into the Atlas Mountains, where the guide and us started the hike. He explained everything so understanding and interesting! When we reached one of the Berber villages, we were able to have a tea with a local family and an amazing view. Afterward we continued the walk in an outstanding landscape and finished everything with a brilliant lunch at the guides house, which his wife made. We sat there, ate ( a lot), had a tea ceremony and just enjoyed the time together! I can just recommend this tour to everyone, who wants to be part of something really unique! Thank you again so much, Lahcen🙏🏻
Our stay with Lahcen’s family was the most wonderful experience we could wish for. We’ve had the opportunity to cook an authentic tajine, learn how to make the flat bread and especially how to prepare proper Moroccan tea! Even our teenage son was happy to dress up in Berber clothes and took part in the cooking. Lahcen is very helpful and ready to make your stay in Imlil a very special experience. I definitely recommend to stay here if you wish to explore the Atlas Mountains and the life in Berber villages! Lovely rooms, terrace and delicious breakfast, Best place! We will be back. Thank you:)
Lahcen replied swiftly to any emails before our arrival. We were travelling with our two children aged 10 and 7 and Lahcen made us all very welcome. The food was super tasty too! I asked Lahcen to arrange us a trip trekking (with a mule for if the kids were tired) and we all feel this adventure was the highlight our our trip in Morocco. Thank you so much!
