Imlil Authentic Toubkal Lodge is a traditional Berber house situated in the heart of the village Arghen, perched above Imlil. The Lodge has 4 rooms decorated in the style of the region ( 2 Ensuite rooms with private shower & toilet and other two has shared bathrooms) . We provide an ample breakfast on the balcony that looks south towards the Toubkal Massif. Hot showers and mint tea will restore you after your excursions and in the evenings. The Lodge is ideally located for hiking in the surrounding valleys and summiting mountain peaks including the famous Jebel Toubkal. We do not have sherpas here in Morocco, but muleteers with their mules will take care of your heavy rucksacks. The time I had in Imlil was my favorite part of my trip to morocco - thanks to Lahcen and his family, who were amazing hosts. Always had amazing meals, more than I could ever eat. The view from the terrace is outstanding. Lahcen managed to arrange the Toubkal trek for me spontaneously on the day before - that was an incredible experience. Thanks for everything! Choukran bezaf!

Amazing place to stay when you visit Imlil. The lodge has an incredible view of the mountains from the terrace. The rooms are cosy and have a very authentic atmosphere, there are some really nice chill out areas with carpets and pillows too. The breakfast is so nice, Lahcen had everything laid out for us in the morning on the terrace with a perfect view and everything was delicious. This is absolutely an authentic place to stay and the host is very friendly and accommodating, we couldn’t have asked for more. The room was clean, beds comfortable, hot water and shower was great. Price and value is unbeatable. Thank you very much Lahcen!

An amazing home stay! Lachen is a brilliant host and he was always quick to reply to my messages- nothing was too much trouble. He organised everything for us- taxi transfers, dinner when we arrived, guide and chef for our trek to Mount Toubkal, and our trekking equipment. Breakfast on the balcony is amazing- the best balcony in Imlil! Comfortable, clean bedrooms and a real family atmosphere. Hot dinner on arrival was also just what we needed! This is my second time staying at Lachen’s place, and hopefully will be back again! Will also be recommending him to any friends who plan to visit Imlil. Thank you again Lachen- the best home stay in Imlil! ☺️

No five-star hotel could match the warmth and hospitality of Lahcen and his wonderful family. Though I ate at many fine restaurants in Morocco, nothing came close to the succulent lamb and quince tagine we made together. I stayed overnight with them at the Authentic Toubkal Lodge and hiked during the day in the High Atlas with Lahcen. Lahcen was very organized and communication before and during the trip was a breeze. He speaks perfect English and many other languages. In the evening I took an amazing cooking class with Lahcen and his family. I was traveling solo, and the family could not have been more gracious and welcoming. It was truly magical to sit on the terrace overlooking the mountains at sunset and to make bread in the wood-fire clay oven with the grandmother. Whenever Lahcen left the room, his aunt, his mother and his grandmother (who spoke only Berber) and I would pantomime wildly to communicate, and laugh hysterically. They taught me how to make a lamb and quince tagine with olives and preserved lemon, which was heavenly. I’m so glad I stayed overnight with them. Thank you to Lahcen and family for welcoming me and giving me a window into the Berber culture that few travelers have the opportunity to experience. I will remember this for the rest of my life!

I have left a piece of my heart in Imlil. What an incredible place and I’m so glad we stayed with Lahcen and his family. Lahcen arranged a trek with mules for us since our kids didn’t really want to hike. We cooked a meal with Lahcen’s family which was so great, and we got to experience a real hammam after doing the tourist version. There was a little kitchen for us to cook our own simple meals which we were very grateful for. The terrace has the most amazing view. Imlil is the most amazing place where you step back to a simpler life, everyone is so welcoming. I had reservations about staying here with my wild kids but I’m so so glad we did ❤️

The guide lahcen Igdem very responsive when I tried to find out more about the trip before booking. The trip itself was amazing! The guide was very knowledgeable and loves a good joke as well :) My mom, who isn’t the fittest hiker, joined as well and the guide adapted the pace and was so supportive. Back in Imlil we found out that we had some problems with our rental car and the guide, with the help of some other people nearby, fixed the car for which we are so greatful! Best trip with a great guide! I cannot recommend it more!

Lahcen is the kindest and most knowledgable host, and caters to any type of traveler wishing to experience the Atlas mountains. I only wish I had dedicated more than a day-trip to visit his beautiful home in Imlil. Our hotel arranged this excursion and we couldn't be more happy with our experience. From the moment we arrived, Lahcen catered our journey to our skillset, and guided us on a 3 hour hike through small Berber villages near the peak of Toubkal. The terrain is a bit rocky in areas - so it is imperative that you wear appropriate footwear. Along the way, Lahcen shared history about the area, stories about the people, and details about the natural surroundings. We saw breathtaking views along the way of untouched mountain landscapes and acres of apple orchards and walnut trees. The hike culminated at Lahcen's home and guesthouse where we were treated to the BEST berber meal I've ever had. We were treated like royalty! Lahcen taught us how to make Moroccan tea, and his family prepared salad, Lamb tagine, and vegetable couscous - I'm still dreaming about this meal! His lodge overlooks the entire mountain valley, and we arrived during afternoon prayer, and the beauty of the sound of the multiple mosques across the different villages praying in unison brought tears to our eyes. I can only recommend you dedicate more than one day to experience the beauty and majesty of all that Imlil and it's surrounding areas has to offer with Lahcen as your guide. I would love to attempt summiting Toubkal with Lahcen in the future!
