I have stayed in a lot of places, big and small - B&Bs, guesthouses, hotels, hostels - and this is the best of the bunch. Beautifully constructed traditional building with stone and wood. All the rooms are different but all cosy and comfortable. All have an open log fire are lit in the winter for you while you are at...

A fantastic place to stay to do treks in the Atlas Mountains. Wonderful homely feel to the place with great communal lounge area for relaxing in front of the fire and eating wonderful home cooked food. Rooms comfortable as well and ours had its own fireplace (which Mohammed, the unique 'host' lights for you before bedtime). Great place to stay...

What a fantastic place! Feels like it's in the middle of the village surrounded by local folks, yet has luxurious interior with new, modern wood chalets. Beds are super comfortable and fireplace at night keeps the cabin very cosy hot. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Dinner was extraordinarily tasty. My only gripe is that at 70 pounds a night, it's...

We hiked up to this place for dinner after having smelled the wonderful smells when hiking through the day before. Dinner was fabulous, just fabulous. Rashid is a kitchen master- very fragrantly spiced chicken tajine. And an apple cake so fresh...!

We had a wonderful couple of days here - from arriving and having suitcase carried down to property via mule to the wonderful treks around the valley. All meals are provided by friendly lovely staff and sleeping in the mountains seems to be the best sleep ever. We had no electricity in our room (we knew this was the case...

The rooms are 100% authentic, with every item and detail coming from the local community. The service was personal and high quality. The meals served come straight from the garden on the property. You get a real taste of life in the Atlas Mountains. The hotel arranged treks with a local guide named Hassan, who was incredible. The hikes were...

This is a real gem of a place. Kitty showed us around and made us feel welcome in the absence of Jacqueline, and we really felt we were being welcomed into someone's home. This place is rural, following the donkey carrying our bags down unmade paths into a mountain village raised a few of my families eyebrows as to whether...

We loved this place for so many different reasons. Where else in the world can you find yourself in the heart of a Berber village amidst such stunning landscape with a true sense you'd gone back to a time when life was simpler. There might not be electricity throughout but at night, the candles, log fires and warmth from Mohamed, Rashida...

Douar Samra was recommended to us by our friends who gushed about it, but it turned out to be even better than our expectations. Absolutely memorable experience- the views, the people we met (the other guests and the staff) and the best food we had in Morocco, hands down! It was so good that we wanted to extend our stay;...
