The place is quite clean, the personnel there tries to keep it so, that's why you need sleepers, to get inside the bedrooms. You can get there only with guides who carry there with the mules all the things you need, from food they cook for you there to the mattresses you sleep on. In the evening, the light goes off gradually. There is a bathroom with showers at the ground floor and another one with toilets only on the floor. The light in the eating hall is quite poor and only available when it gets really dark inside. The place offers the strictly necessary.

This hut was ok. Staff was very friendly. Dinner was normal. It may quite windy place. I like sitting outside with tea. It is good hut, but you can not compare it with alpen rifugios. First night in 3200 can be quite uncomfortable for someone.

The Refuge is a welcome sight after the hike from Imlil, which, although stunning. is quite a gain in altitude. The dining areas are very well heated and the food is plentiful. It is not luxurious, nor did I expect it to be. The sleeping quarters are in dormitory style, with beds in very close proximity. With ten members in our group, all male, and with an early rise, for the summit of Toubkal, sleep was essential. A chorus of snoring broke out which was shared by at least three members, but some sleep was had and the summit was achieved the next day. Which to be honest is an exceptional hike. Events transpired on the next nights sleep, which shall live long in the memory, of all members of the group. A gentleman, slightly more mature than the rest of the group, but still rugged and lean, drifted off to sleep with the aid of classical music. It is alleged that snoring took place at this time, which could be heard from the toilet, a good 20 metres away. After a little discussion, and much soul searching - prodding, shouting and finally an attack with a not so soft pillow to the cranial region, proved successful. In retrospect, this alleged event added to the group adventure and perhaps proved character building. To make the summit Mt Toubkal in winter, with howling winds and a temperature of -15 C, battling the elements and ones own self doubts, is a wonderful achievement. It was a privilege to share this with such a diverse group of gentlemen. P.S Pack some earplugs.

Amazing location and very friendly guides and staff! We stayed for one night - arrived in the afternoon, and then summited the next morning for sunrise. The guides at the refuge help to make sure each group will go at their own speed and get going when they want. Beds are VERY close together (touching with access at the foot) so definitely make sure you bring earplugs and an eye mask especially if you aren’t going to be one of the early risers. Would definitely recommend just BYOT (bring your own toiletpaper).

Clean, comfortable, great food and the mountains around are wonderful. We stayed for two nights, to climb on the Toubkal, the Timesguida and the Ras. I really recommend the latter two, which are less climbed but provides very scenic views.

I camped in the grounds on the Refuge , which gave us access to the facilities. Given its location the toilets and showers where passable. However the grounds where camping took place where disgusting. Plastic bottles and litter everywhere. Animal bones and veg peeling trampled into the mud. About 200m from the refuge there seems to be an unofficial tip with piles of broken bottles and rusty tins piled high. With all the mules that bring up supplies, could they not us them to carry out the waste of the return trip. Get the staff and maybe a few volunteers to clean up this mess.

This is the worst place I ever been at, and just plain worn out and dirty. Food: Could choose from pasta with tomatosauce or chicken. I chose chicken, but was served spaghetti with a little piece of chicken on top. Breakfast was some dry bread, and impossible to get energy to climb any mountain from. It was a joke, nothing less! See photo. Living room: Cold, not much change to dry your clothes, bad seats that the poor guides should later sleep at. Bath/Shower: Places in the basement, and cold as ice. No hot water, no soap and no toiletpaper. Fungus on the walls. See photo. Sleeping rooms: About 40-50 people in the same room in long lines side by side, with fungus on the walls, bad air, cold. People running in and out all night. Service: Really bad, and no friendly vibe at all. No wifi, so no change to contact family, only if you are lucky someone local gets a signal on their phone outside or in the window, and you might be lucky to get help on a bad wifi from them. This place knows that people have no really other choice when first up there, so they treat both guests and guides like s***. If they did a prober job, had a clean varm place, people might wanted to stay for some more days to climb more, but all you can think about is to get away from this dump, and never come back. Everything else at Toubkal and in Imlil, but this place, and as I have heard, also the other refuge, is nice. So really a shame!

Refuge Toubkal is dry, warm and serving good food. We stayed there on our return from the summit. The plan was to climb Toubkal the following day but the weather forecast was poor. We went straight up from imlil. A long way! Amazing area and incredible peolpe. We were very well looked after the whole week. I recommend The Toubkal Lodge in Aroumd, the village just above imlil. This lodge is linked to the Neltner. Lovely freindly house, great food, warm and clean. Lovely family. Highly recommend. Showers are cold at the Neltner refuge, but you are at 10000ft! Cant expect luxury. It's somewhere to get your head down for a few hours sleep! Thanks again for looking after us so well.

Build of stone, not heated, however, it was warm inside thank to fire place in the big room. You can ask for extra blanket as well. Bathroom is in the basement, there is one shower with hot water , 2 showers with cold water and toilets - do not expect luxury. We slept 14 person in one room. You can buy candy, soda and drinking water if needed.
