Love eating our food in the restaurant whilst gazing out across the ocean, all staff are so helpful and thoughtful, food is gorgeous and lovely to get an a la carte feel in the evening even when all-inclusive. Would love to come again and happy to recommend it.

We just came back from Silver Beach hotel in Trou d’eau douce in Mauritius (25 Nov-8th Dec 21) and it was a fantastic experience I would like to share. First things first a) the weather was great even this early in the season with constant 28-31° temperatures b) Silver Beach hotel is situated directly on a wonderful, clean and relatively secluded beach worthy of any in Mauritius and c) this was one of the best VALUE for MONEY hotels I have visited and we travel a lot all over the world!!. The hotel itself has a series of seaview rooms on a principal building and several garden view bungalows that are just as nice in a very well kept garden.A gorgeous restaurant and well filled bar, a lovely clean swimming pool and very well looked after lawn in front of the sea with a plentiful and well maintained supply of beach chairs both on the beach and on the hotel grounds. It's not pretentious but lacks absolutely nothing of a good 4* stay.  IN fact the food is delicious and plentiful. The drinks and cocktails included in the all-inclusive are good quality and all are served by wonderful and professional staff who do it for the pleasure and the service! Tip them if you wish (they deserve it) but if it's not in your habits you will not be treated differently -which is much more than I can say for so many, many other hotels. This is a calm, laid back place so if you want constant loud music, overbearing animation teams or minute by minute planned programmes Silver Beach hotel is not for you.  If on the other hand you are looking for wonderfully prepared local and international cuisine, great cocktails, clean and comfortable rooms, honest service, cleanliness, total security (fantastic 8-10 people security team 24/7) and friendly people then this is the place to be. It's very simple if you are looking for a “home away from home” place with all the trims of a “paradise island”, this is it. It is very well placed as a center of excursions and the reception and Crystel, our lovely and helpful FIT in-house operator representative, are the people to guide you. Special mentions:  first and foremost, thank you Fareed (reservations manager) for making our arrival so easy and taking care of all our accommodation needs! Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff under Dan (F&B manager) for making our stay there memorable with inventiveness and a smile. Some people are always on leave and you can't mention everybody but Jordan, Kellie, Tivesh,Giris and above all Ziad (Elvis !!) helped us have a wonderful time! The restaurant serves the most imaginative dishes possible to cater for all needs - well, all non ridiculous needs. There is a buffet at breakfast and lunch with a fixed rotating menu worthy of a good Parisian restaurant with entree, soup, choice of main courses mainly chicken and fresh fish dishes followed by dessert. Chips, hamburgers and pizza are NOT on the menu because honestly the hotel doesn't really cater for very difficult eaters and young kids. Raj the kitchen chef, Melanie, the amazing desserts chef (who whipped up a special “happy birthday” dessert for me in 10 min when he found out !!) and all the other staff made this stay something of a culinary experience. Finally, a most particular aspect worth mentioning. The “beach boys” -more like very serious  beach guys, constantly cleaning, maintaining and assisting- and especially Salim were amazing sources of help with our leisure activities, service and information Suggestions: Rarely have I visited a 3* hotel with so little to change especially as the ON-HANDS owners are making constant repairs and ameliorations (massage service added this year and the sports center is actually being restored and re-equipped). Personally I would like to see a small changing cabin next to the beach hut and some more VARIETY e.g. seafood, in the menus (a common request especially if you stay over 9/10 days). Tips: Public transport on the island is safe, colourful, practical and inexpensive. Even though its irregular and there is no bus stop in sight, the N° 55 bus runs almost hourly from outside the hotel (just wait on the road and flag it down) to Flacq (the regional center) where they have a very large market Sunday & Wednesday and is a bustling, vibrant shopping, medical and administrative center every day. Really worth the visit with great things to buy!

We were married here in 1998 & The Silver Beach Hotel will stay forever in our hearts. The Hotel was clean, welcoming & had amazing accommodation. The Mauritian culture embraces tolerance and this comes across with the people being really warm, gentle & friendly. We'd love to visit again so hopefully soon.

My boyfriend and I travelled on the 19-29th Feb 2020. He booked an ocean view room, on the top floor, floor 4, (*note, there are no lifts at this small hotel) stairs only) facing out toward the beautiful ocean and overlooking the gardens/pool/beach. The room were a good size, very clean, bathroom a good size with a shower etc. The room has tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, hairdryer, balcony with x2 chairs and a table, lots of wardrobe and shelving space, and a safe in the wardrobe. The bed were a little firm for me, however, it really wasn't an issue. The staff are amazing, warm, friendly, and nothing is too much trouble at all. All the restaurant staff / bar staff were fabulous, and the Manager she were a delight! always happy with a smile on her face. As were Raz ! The food for a 3 star hotel, I thought were amazing. I have travelled the world and am still doing so, plus work as cabin crew so I have experienced so many hotels. For a small independent hotel, the food was varied, from wonderful buffet breakfast, to dinner - curries, meat, fish, salads, fruits, with sometimes a little bit of the "norm" some pasta etc but I loved the food. Buffet is on offer then they do a fixed 3/4 course dinner once or twice a week (I can't remember) this was equally as lovely. Because its a smaller hotel, you get to know people, which is nice. It were my boyfriends Birthday whilst we were away, and they made such an effort at dinner, decorated the table, and made a lovely cake with firework candles etc it was lovely. The pool is a decent size in the garden, not that anyone really used it, and why would you, when this hotel sits on a lovely white sandy beach! We had no issue getting sun beds, which are on the beach and on the garden, they provide towels. The staff will come to the beach to see if you would like drinks. We personally tip, bearing in mind this is a poor country. The staff deserved the tips for sure.! The beach is lovely white sand beach, however, you need swim shoes, as going into the ocean, the sand is mixed with finely crushed coral/shell, so it will hurt your feet heading in/out, but it's not an issue, the ocean is stunning blues/turquoise, and lovely to swim in. We walked the length of the beach, it was gorgeous, and we headed left along the beach and followed it round which led around the coastline. BOAT TRIPS: okay, pay attention folks! The hotel staff and everyone will tell you this, but I will mention it as well, DO NOT BUY ANY BOAT TRIPS FROM THE RASTA BEACH DUDE, OR FROM ANYONE ELSE whom works from the local harbour, who will approach you if Ravi is out on a boat trip. only USE RAVI from Silver Beach Hotel. His boat trip was the BEST ! His lovely cousin took us out from the hotel beach, we saw so much it was wonderful. We went with two friends we made at the hotel, so it were just the four of us. Ravis cousin is so knowledgeable as he is a local fisherman there. We went to the old disused lighthouse, and got lucky as we spotted dolphins en route, which isn't guaranteed! It was just an added bonus, a family of four dolphins, so we stopped to look at them for a while. Then we went along side this island with green vegetation, and he showed us giant tortoises on the island! I had never seen these before, so it was fantastic!!!! We then snorkelled and saw some lovely fish and corals. Then we went on to Il aux Cerf beach, the little waterfall nearby, and he took us where there were fish to snorkel. He dropped us at Il Aux Cerf beach and we had no time pressure at all. So we had a drink at the beach bar and chilled as we had done a previous trip with another company and it was awful!! Ravis cousin en route down to the waterfall, pointed out there were monkeys in the mangrove trees, I spotted them and were so excited to see them in the wild, he asked us to bring bananas now I know why! He quietly let the boat up to the edge of the trees, told me to hold my arm out and the monkey reached down and took the banana from my hand ! was amazing. We had drinks on board Rum !!! yum! and soft drinks. And Ravis price was spot on for the area. I can't remember the boat company who came to the beach and sold us our first boat trip, but they wore blue t-shirts, they tried to take extra cash from us by using hard sales tactics trying to confuse you over prices, add on costs etc its a well known sales tactic, so you end up so confused you don't know what you're paying for! That trip was terrible, once they get your money they don't care at all. The boat drivers don't interact, or smile, there's a lot of you on each boat, they rush you around, especially at Il Aux Cerf beach, and the lunch on a beach was rubbish, and we had paid for lobster and they said they had none! So, my advice is don't use anyone else apart from RAVI, whom is vetted and works for the hotel. But please do not let this put you off, as there are no hawkers on the beach as this resort is a quiet tranquil non touristy side of the island (East coast side). I guess boat trips are the main competition in such a small community. If you're looking for a busy town/resort with night life in a town, this is not for you. The hotel has entertainment, however, it is over an hour transfer from the airport. The local village has a few restaurants and a ATM and the boat harbour. We truly had the best time, and would definitely return to the Silver Beach Hotel. For value for money this was spot on for a 3 star, in fact, I would say it was way better than a 3 star!! 3 stars because the hotel has no other amenities I'd say, like a spa salon etc A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay utterly delightful. And Ravi, and your cousin, thank you for the BEST boat trip. Joanna & Mick

Ok so hotel is a little tired looking however it is spotless and the staff are super friendly.Due to my husband's bad knee we paid a supplement for a ground floor sea facing room which was fab.Hotel very small which suited us .Housekeeping not only cleaned room but the glass doors as well every day.Loved the food as it varied daily and 4 nights a week it was silver service instead of buffet.I loved that although staff weren't always coping with the service that well ll.No night life to speak of but not a problem for us.One of staff that stood out for us was Zee.Attentive without being overbearing and his attention to detail is spot on.We also found reception staff friendly and helpful.Only niggle was a new staff member at end of our trip was actually rude and needs to brush up on his guest relation skills!Didn't catch his name but he informed us he'd been working on cruise ships and had worked at this hotel some 7 years previously.A little mention for Malina in restaurant for her professional service and friendly ness.Beach is lovely however I'd advise water shoes s as a lot of coral that will cut your feet when you go in sea.Booked an amazing boat trip with Ravi in beach.Beware Rasta Man! Loungers on beach pretty antiquated. They don't recline and are heavy to move. All in all we loved it here and would definitely return.
