Tropical Attitude is an adult-only 3-star sup boutique-hotel on the east coast. The hotel, situated right on the lagoon in Trou d’Eau Douce, a genuine fishermen’s village, offers direct and free shuttle access to paradisiacal Ile aux Cerfs. Stepping in, the open spaces and bar-lounge area, the Creole architecture, immediately convey the atmosphere of a relaxed and peaceful holiday home by the beach. The decoration throughout the hotel, including that of the 58 seafront rooms with their elegant bathrooms, is uncluttered and refined, in total harmony with the surrounding nature. The look is trendy: white and mineral colours with shades of dawn, reminders of the beautiful sunrises of the east coast. Now, 11 new villas with their private pool and garden Time here, seems to have come to a standstill, only interrupted by outings in the lagoon, siestas under coconut trees and local Otentik Experiences. The personalized service and kindness of its Family Members contribute widely to that gentle and relaxed way of life so typical of the tropics.

The Tropical Attitude hotel earns praise for its welcoming atmosphere, complete with eco-friendly initiatives, although some guests have noted issues with noise. Visitors often speak highly of the hotel's amenities, especially the diverse activities and exceptional dining options, despite the inconvenience of signing for all-inclusive services. Accommodations are lauded for their cleanliness and ocean views, yet a few travelers suggest they're somewhat basic. The staff's outstanding service is frequently highlighted, as is the stunning location ideal for beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts. Overall, the hotel is celebrated for providing excellent value.

We would thoroughly recommend Tropical Attitude to anyone requiring a location for relaxation and excellent service. As a three star hotel facilities were less than its sister hotel (4 star Zilwa) as was the range but not quality of food, however there was nothing more you could wish for and more than you could reasonably expect. The chefs more than are willing to cook anything to suit your diet or make you happy. Our upper level room had the most fabulous view and although quite basic entirely clean and adequate for a holiday where you would want to spend most of your time along the beautiful seafront. Being an adult only hotel certainly came with advantages and Tropical seems to attract likeminded holidaymakers many of whom have been returning to the property time and again. We took part in some of the activities offered by the hotel and a trip organised by the front desk all of which were most enjoyable. Being a relatively small property we were usually remembered and greeted personally by name.Staff at the hotel were dedicated to ensuring our enjoyment and comfort during our entire stay. We would recommend the Catamaran trip at extra but reasonable price and also visiting the local town Flacq on one of the market days by bus for 30 MRs each way.You may need to wait a while for the bus and it doesn’t matter which way it is going as it doubles back. Simply walking a short way along the coast to the left of the hotel brings you to a headland followed by a long stretch of fabulous beach.
It would be unfair to name any particular member of staff but thank you to the whole team for making it a memorable holiday for us.

Winston Churchill once said, “attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”. This couldn’t ring more true for the Tropical Attitude hotel & staff. Located in Trou d’Eau Douce, Tropical Attitude offers a clean, contemporary, adult-only hotel. With free shuttle access to paradisiacal Ile aux Cerfs, it offers good value and a good base to explore the stunning landscapes. I’d recommend the margarita cocktails, the sunset walks up to the public beach, the Mauritian massage, the free boat trips, the Kot Nou restaurant and all of the great open spaces. Bravo Tropical Attitude x

A beautiful hotel nested at the bay of Trou d'Eau Douce, the rooms are beautifully decorated with a mix of contemporary and french design. Every room is sea facing with a small balcony. The sunrise view is breathtaking.
Coming to food, they serve a lovely platter of continental cuisine, along with Indian inspired mauritian dishes. Special mention and thanks for Chef Vikash who took care to understand our preferences and taste, and customize dishes whenever possible.
The hotel also boasts of complimentary snorkelling and island transfer facilities. The island transfers are a very convenient offering, however the boat house operator is too stringent towards snorkelling, and didnt seem very helpful towards facilitating that.
However one can easily get their own equipment and enjoy snorkelling here as the marina here is great for the same.
Overall it was a wonderful experience.

We have just returned from a 10night stay at the tropical attitude hotel.
Upon arrival we had our bags collected and stored until our room was ready which reception sorted for us earlier than expected.
The room was clean and had all the essentials, it was kept clean everyday and we had some great animals made out of towels on the bed each day, drinks in the mini bar are restocked everyday and are free although the food items are not free. On our 1st day there was a problem with the water in the area so we struggled for a shower until the next day, no fault of the hotel but we wasn't informed of this issue upon arrival.
The location of the hotel is perfect, right next to a small beach area with views looking at the ocean. We was a little concerned about the weather reports we read before we started our holiday as it just said rain all the time, it was an average of 30°c every day and a few scattered 2min showers the occasional day which was a relief.
The alcohol drink selection for us was a little poor, purely down to the quality of the spirits etc but we managed to find something we both liked and stuck to that for the duration.
We did a lot of research before booking the tropical attitude hotel as we wanted a relaxed atmosphere with lovely food. The 1st night we booked a table at the kot nou restaurant in the grounds of the hotel, the menu selection sounded ok so we picked things that sounded tasty on the menu, we only had the one meal there after the 1st night purely as it was quite disappointing for us.
The main restaurant is clean but there didn't seem to be any order at all, people getting food and having nowhere to sit & really slow drink service I found it quicker to go to the bar myself, the food was very bland for us and quite repetitive. There was a buffet selection on every other night and A la carte menu on the other nights, I am really not a fussy eater usually but I struggled to find a good plate of food for our duration apart from breakfast which was always good, we mainly filled up with the bread and butter in the end, it seemed quite mass catered food with strange combinations and not much flavour. This really really put a big downer on our stay as the reviews raved about the quality of food, we later found out most of the food reviews were written by one of the kitchen staff "vikesh" he was going around various tables asking for there mobiles and writing the reviews himself! There is no wonder the restaurant and himself are mentioned so much in the reviews as it's all written in house by the staff.
Overall our stay was relaxed and peaceful, the entertainment was OK on a few nights but the food really let it down for us. With it being quite far from any good restaurants you are quite limited to what you can eat, i was offered something else not on the menu to my personal choice, I opted for a beef curry with rice it was OK but really nothing to get excited about.

My wife and I have just returned from our honeymoon trip at Tropical Attitude and cannot express how perfect a trip it has been!
Mauritius as an island is easily the most beautiful place we have ever visited, from the sheer amount of beautiful greenery to the white sands and clear waters it is a perfect location for anyone wanting a slice of paradise. The backdrop is also incredibly romantic making it perfect as a honeymoon location!

Tropical Attitude is an outstanding hotel in every way, the food, drinks, cleanliness, atmosphere and welcoming staff are all superb. The selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails means there is something for everyone and the food is extremely tasty and always served with a smile. A Particular mention has to go to the freshly made omlettes every morning which are so delicious!
The hotel rooms as well as public areas are all kept so clean and have a really beautiful asthetic and relaxed atmosphere making it perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing break but also a place to socialise over a drink.
Something we were unaware of before arrival but absolutely loved was the hotels policy on single use plastic - there is none! Unlike other hotels who say they're trying, Tropical Attitude achieve this and its amazing to see!
Also, the spa is incredible. My wife and I both had a 30 minute back massage which was incredibly relaxing and the spa area is so beautiful!

Some special mentions need to go to Deepa and the housekeeping team who always made our room stunningly clean as well as leaving us a new towel animal creation each morning which we loved!
Krishnav who welcomed us at the street food truck and also served our food in the restaurant, he was so friendly, smiley and very attentive - an all round lovely person!
Sunil who would always make us laugh whether he was serving our food, drink or just passing us by the pool!

The whole team of staff at the Tropical Attitude provide the best service and whilst we have mentioned a few specifically every single person was incredibly kind and warm and helpful!

This hotel is perfect and way beyond its 3* rating! Thank you Tropical Attitude for the most amazing honeymoon stay!

Beautiful location and staff who can’t do enough for you, what more can you ask for? The size of the hotel also makes it feel intimate and friendly with many nationalities enjoying the hotel’s facilities together. It was always very windy but this didn’t spoil our stay.

Rooms a bit rustic and didn’t like the shower floor as it was small rough tiling and I don’t think it’s very hygienic. No good lighting for shaving/make up etc but that’s common fault in hotels. Otherwise nice size room, good WiFi with lovely view over the ocean.

Gardens/grounds kept well with abundance of tropical flowers. Swimming pool adequate with enough sun beds etc. just a shame it’s a bit dangerous accessing the sea and swimming here because of the current. We did use the facilities at the sister hotel, Friday Attitude, which is about 20 minute walk round the bay to the left of the hotel where the swimming/beach is much better. Free hotel courtesy boat to Ile Aux Cerfs more than makes up for this and guests can even take a picnic box provided by the hotel with them! Lovely day out.

Music/entertainment was provided 6 nights out of 7 and was pleasant to sit around the pool bar listening in the evening to. Had a massage which was very good and very relaxing.

2 Restaurants were excellent with staff very hard-working and friendly. If you want something, just ask and they’ll do their best to provide it. We mentioned to the chef that we liked curry and he prepared a beef curry especially for us - Wonderful! The egg chef, who was also in charge of the lunchtime grill ( sorry forgot her name)is also lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. She advised us to go to Flacq to local market, which we did, and it is well worth a visit on either Sunday or Wednesday. We did sit outside next to the pool a couple of evenings to eat our meals, which was much more pleasant as it wasn’t so hot as sitting inside. Shame the tables weren’t set up every evening! We also enjoyed the afternoon tea with lovely cakes/biscuits/pancakes.

Karen on reception arranged for us to hire a car for the day, which is a good way to get out and see something of this beautiful island. She is another asset to the hotel, as are all the staff.

We used the departure lounge on our final day, which is an innovative addition to any hotel. Been to many hotels and never seen this before just be prepared to find it very busy and would have liked a bit more privacy but can’t complain!

Thanks to all the staff again for a wonderful holiday!

Stayed for 2 weeks in October and thoroughly enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the hotel, made special with the friendly excellent staff who work so hard with a smile. Sun beds were never a problem, at 7am on our first morning there was not one towel on a bed ! The area around the pool never seemed too busy and was a welcome respite from the strong winds on the front. As others have said a ten minute walk up to Friday attitude is worthwhile, a nice sandy beach with various marine life, including trigger fish and barracuda.

Our room on the first floor was basic but very nice. Stocking the fridge yourself from the small shop worked very well. Air con was efficient and Housekeeping was excellent.

The bar area was nice with comfortable seating, getting served wasn’t normally a problem, peak periods (after dinner) could be a bit problematic at times as there was only 1 barman, another set of hands would sort this out. Selection and quality of the drinks were fine. This is not a late night party hotel and the last orders at 11 worked well for us.

Boat trips were great, we went to Ill aux serfs island on a couple of occasions and did the glass bottom boat trip (not so good). Highly recommend the catamaran day trip, booked through Karen at the hotel, cost Rs6300 for 2 of us.

We were a little apprehensive about the quality of the food having read most of the reviews. Breakfast, A la carte Lunch and dinner were fine, however we did have a few issues with the poor food quality in the Lunch and Buffet dinners but these were quickly addressed by the chef who would go out of his way to prepare food we enjoyed. If your not happy with what’s on offer tell the chef and he will sort it out.

We had 2 lovely meals out at the Green Island Beach restaurant a 10 minute walk or a short cab ride. We were advised to take a cab at night, called by reception and cost Rs500. The restaurant was busy so we called ahead to book (recommended). Great food and value.

We found the Mauritius restaurant ‘kot Nou’ to be very good, the menu doesn’t change but 1 visit a week is fine.

We loved the hotel and the staff who make this place so good. 5* hotel and staff. 3.5* buffet food.

Amazing experience and lovely hotel. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. I’ve never been somewhere where everyone is so friendly.

We stayed in one of the villas which was perfect- our very own escape. Room was kept spotless and the maid went above and beyond changing our towels and leaving ‘towel animals’ everyday.

Food was brilliant and we had some of the tastiest dishes. Not a lot of choice when there was a set menu, but everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Much better than some all inclusive buffets we’ve been to.
My other half is vegetarian and the head chef came over most days to see if the food was ok for him. They even bought us special meat-free snacks when we had pre-dinner cocktails at the bar.
Great selection of cocktails and mocktails.
The view from the restaurant is amazing.

You can book to eat at a separate restaurant: Kot Nou, which is certainly worth is. Loads of tapas dishes, each one tastes different and very very lovely.

The free boat trip is another must.

We hired a car and was very easy to park in the hotel.

Would highly recommend staying for a relaxing holiday.

My wife and I stayed for two weeks and this included Christmas and her 50th birthday which took place on Christmas Day. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms. Sheta, who was our cleaner/main, was exceptional. Leaving a different towel sculpture every day.

The food was good quality, and there was a decent selection. I can highly recommend a trip to the Kot Nou for the Mautitian Tapas, that was exceptional. There was a very laid back atmosphere in the hotel, the service was absolutely spot on. There was a wide range of cocktails on offer. The Christmas Eve gala night was a great spectacle.

The staff were exceptionally helpful at all times. Karen was always there to help and answer questions when needed. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to Ile aux Cerfs for a day on the beach. There isn't really a beach near the hotel, it is a quick ten minute walk away. The guest services also helped us to arrange car hire for a few days and we booked a dolphin encouter through the hotel rather than the tour operator as well. There is a regular bus service, which is an entertaining way to see the island as well. The committment to environmental issues is very good.

We had a couple of sessions at the spa. This is very resonably priced and a wide range of treatments are available.

One point of feedback would be the care and attention given to the communal swimming pool. There was regularly things floating in the pool and it seems that there was no attempt to get a net and clear these stray items from the pool. There was also what looked like a film on the top of the water. It was enough to deter more regular trips into the pool.

We are spending 14 days as part of the mandatory quarantine before being able to freely move around Mauritius at the Tropical Attitude Hotel. The welcome has been truly exceptional. The location on the east cost of the island is idyllic, albeit slightly windy during the winter months. The best part of the quarantine so far has been the generosity and warmth of the hotel staff - they are the highlight of our stay.

I would recommend this hotel for your quarantine and when Mauritius reopens fully, I have no doubt recommending the hotel, the friendly and accommodating staff and the idyllic and tranquil east coast!

The hotel offers free glass bottom boat and snorkelling trips ( weather permitting) they also run a shuttle boat twice a day to il aux cerfs! Worth bc a visit!! These are available free from the hotel and can be booked at the boat house the day before. You can also book a 5 island speedboat tour at boathouse but this is separate from the hotel and there is a fee. Well worth it for a day out! I saw no other water sports available at the hotel. Have a great time
