Shangri-la Le Touessrok in Mauritius garners acclaim for its picturesque location with white sandy beaches and tranquil lagoon, frequently mentioned in reviews. Guests are enamored with the spotless cleanliness of both rooms and public areas. The hotel's service is often lauded as friendly and professional, though there have been some calls for improved promptness.
While the spacious rooms with stunning views are a hit, a few visitors suggest updates are needed. The extensive amenities, including the adults-only pool and private island access, are a highlight, despite mixed feelings on the value due to pricey dining options.

There are not enough superlatives to describe this special place . The location on a blue lagoon sheltered by a reef and with 4 km of golden manicured beaches and its own private island sets it apart . Plenty of sun loungers well spaced and tended by the beach team supplying towels, a cool box full of water and fruit kebabs . The choice of beaches means that you can have breeze or shelter as you wish . Rooms all have ocean views and even the standard rooms are of a high spec with a huge bed , sitting area . And en-suite with bath and shower . The terrace or balcony overlooks the ocean and stunning views . There’s a choice of restaurants and a dine around 1/2 board arrangement covers them all however there are some supplements to pay outside of the Bazar buffet . The buffet is exceptional , and can cater for all dietary needs ,continually refreshed with a high quality standard maintained throughout the evening . The choice is enormous with meat and fish . Chicken , fresh grilled steak plus Fresh oysters to swimmer crab and huge prawns barbecued fresh . The influence of the French Head Chef is very evident with great attention to detail . There’s live music at night in the Sega bar too. Lots of activities are provided by the sports team . E bike cycle tour and canoe tour of the mangroves are great fun . Speed boat trips too . One comment that may need looking at is the catamarans on the beach . There are 2 hobie 15s which are 2 man boats although in light conditions are sail able single handed .The lagoon has some underwater hazards which could cause problems for sailors unaware . I m an experienced cat sailor and wouldn’t feel safe sailing unaccompanied here . I asked for one of the beach team to accompany me but was told no I would have to pay for a lesson unless I sailed alone !it would be better if the beach team guys would accompany experienced sailors for both safety and entertainment reasons negating the need to find another cat sailor amongst all the guests

Had an absolutely wonderful pre-Christmas time at Shangri-La.
Room - We were upgraded to a Frangipani Suite on arrival as we have a certain Circle member level - which was just wonderful. Double for us and twin for the boys in a big room with seating balcony, free mini bar, bath, shower and much more. The butler service to the Frangipani Suites was a great addition - calling on them when required for booking meals, room requests, anything.
Food - Buffet breakfast is sublime. Egg stations, smoothies made to order, every cuisine you could want, smoked marlin, tuna, desserts, crepes, you name it! - Restaurant - Kushi, sushi restaurant was fantastic - very high quality, and inventive dishes. Not so cheap but a magical treat for us all. - Ilot Mangenie private island does THE MOST STUNNING truffle cheese pizza. You must order it! - Pool service food and drink is stunning and big portions. There are buttons on every chair/seating area on the beach and pools to call for service! Dangerous!
Wildlife and nature - Bats by the adult pool were awesome to watch. Super big and amazing - Weaver birds by the adult pool and elsewhere - Best beach out of three 5* resorts we stayed at - shrew and really noisy amazing toads in the evening - saw endangered blue geckos too
Downsides - The sound from parties across the bay at another resort carried across to the Frangipani suites. Fine with the door closed but not brilliant
Activities - Snorkeling not very good close to the island - nothing much to see - E-bike tour - definitely recommend, and do it private with the guide - Catamaran was SUPERB. We did a private hire for the four of us for a whole day. A crew four the whole day and a stunning barbecue and lots of food and drinks (alcohol included) and brilliant snorkeling. Saw dolphins and baby dolphins this day and a turtle following alongside our boat
Highly recommend this place. If you can afford it just go for it. It’s stunning x

We spent three wonderful nights here at the resort; everything was just wonderful. The staff was very professional, polite and friendly, especially Rouben, Kush, Ponnen and Martime at Coco’s Restaurant where we had breakfast daily and who served us very well. Our suite, very nice and always kept clean, was right in front of the sea was fantastic; you lay in bed and looked straight at the water, the beach, palm trees and heard the roaring sounds of the waves! Very idyllic! We swam daily in the ‘adults only’ pool, great, and afterwards just located by the pool. You can also eat very well in the restaurants here. However, it's pretty much this time of year! Thank God for air conditioning!!!😅 This was certainly not our last visit there! The resort is highly recommended!👍🏾

Shangri-La Le Tusserok in Mauritius is a beautiful and welcoming resort offering a variety of accommodation options. We stayed in a beachfront room in the Coral area, which was clean, fairly spacious, and pleasantly comfortable despite its somewhat outdated decor. The beaches during our stay, however, were a mixed experience. On the Coral side, the sea was too rough for comfortable swimming, while at the larger beach the water was shallow, making it difficult to enjoy a good swim. In the evenings, the rising tide virtually ruled out any chance for bathing.
The resort’s restaurants were generally decent, with attentive service and friendly staff. A standout was the Indian restaurant, which offered excellent quality and is definitely a must-try during your stay. However, the Mauritian-themed buffet evenings, complete with local dance performances, were very disappointing—poorly executed and not offering good value for money. Our advice is to avoid these nights. On a positive note, the morning breakfast buffet is very varied, delicious, and a definite highlight (thanks to Chantal for her wonderful assistance).
The true gem of this property is the opportunity to visit Deer Island (ile de cerfs in French) via a complimentary boat shuttle. There, you’ll find sun loungers, bar, restaurant, and massage zones set against a wild, stunning turquoise beach, making for an unforgettable day of relaxation (special mention to Jauhan).
Overall, a valid experience.

This newly renovated Shangri-La in Mauritius was a dream. The whole complex is wonderfully built into the different bays, all smaller groups of buildings with different suites. We had chosen the 126m2 Frangipani Signature Ocean View, which was an excellent choice. The suite included a large bedroom with a very large and comfortable double bed and another generous seating. The terrace over the full width of the suite has a magnificent sea view and is very spacious, equipped with seating, table and two sun loungers. The large living room has a seating group with table and in the entrance area it has a kind of dining room with a table for min. 4 people. The suite is also equipped with a second toilet and a walk-in closet. Of particular note is the huge bathroom with very large shower, two sinks, a bathtub in the middle of the room and other excellent amenities. It should also be emphasized that Acqua's continuously replenished bathroom luxury products are Parma. The minibar is constantly generously stocked and everything is free (San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, beer, sweet drinks, sweet and salty snacks, etc.). In various bays it has very nice and large beaches with enough and large sunbeds. On the beaches you are served. Swimming is difficult in two sections of the beach because the water is very shallow. In this resort, the cooking is very good and the wine lists are also very good and fairly priced. The main restaurant is a buffet restaurant with various themes. We were happy to visit the three excellent a la carte restaurants Coco's (right on the beach), Saffron (Indian) and Kushi (Japanese), where we enjoyed wonderful dinners. The famous golf course belonging to the hotel on the island of Ile aux Cerfs is a dream and must be played - the short crossing by boat and the green fee is included. All staff are very welcoming and helpful, everything is well organized. We will definitely visit this hotel again!

Liked · The suite "Frangipani" is spacious and very comfortable ( optimal quality bedding), a well designed and perfectly equipped bath/toilet area with a central "Japanese" bathtub, towels changed twice/day, products L'Occitane..., a mini bar stocked with free drinks and delicacies, and delicate touches (small chocolate on the pillow in the evening, welcome champagne with pareo + beach bag + polo offered on arrival and the rum box on the day of departure..)The buffet breakfast (or dinner) offers a very varied choice of sweet and savory preparations of quality Two beautiful swimming pools, sports equipment (field, gym) and nautical, several restaurants... and a fairly relaxed general atmosphere Finally, "icing on the cake": a boat every 30 minutes to the islet Mangénie , dependence of the resort, with deckchairs, fresh water...: paradisiaque! The staff strive to make your stay pleasant, with special mention for SADA , its warm welcome and charming smile
Less liked · the dress code required for dinner a little outdated the "long trousers" and collared shirt for men

We've just had a wonderfully relaxing time at Shangri-La Le Touessrok. We have stayed here many times before, which means that the hotel staff know all of our preferences and had our room and amenities all set for our arrival. This might be a weird thing to talk about, but we had the most magical room attendants - they were absolutely invisible, but whenever we returned to our room during the daytime of after dinner at night, our room had been returned to perfect cleanliness.... just what you need from 5* service, thank you!
The hotel is still going going through a renovation with major changes to the restaurants and public areas all completed. Subtle improvements have been made in the bedrooms which we loved - especially the new drapes and blackout curtains. We understand there are more changes happening all the time and we hope to be back later in 2025 and look forward to exciting new experiences and another great stay!
Staff are always so attentive and while there are many familiar faces attending to us, we truly appreciate all the hard work of the gardeners, laundry services and other hidden support teams.

My first return visit to this property in over 30 years. I was worried that the developments down the years would have taken away the special character of the property and turned into yet another anonymous international hotel - I needn’t have worried, the recent refurbishment has really hit the mark!
The hotel has a great location to go alongside the world class facilities. The beach, pools and grounds are all top drawer and in my opinion amongst the very best on the island.
The rooms have a restrained luxury feel with every amenity you could wish for to ensure a relaxing stay on the gorgeous island. Although we had the “lowest” grade rooms they fitted the bill perfectly, very comfortable and quiet (no noise from the amenity areas at all). The range of foods available across all the restaurants will meet anyone’s requirements (our lunches at Coco’s were a particular highlight, dinner & breakfast at TSK included just about every food type you could ever wish for).
If you fancy a quiet spell on the beach then a trip to Illot Mangenie is out of this world, you don’t get many hotels with their own private island paradise.
We found the staff added hugely to the quality feel of the hotel, their friendliness and hospitality were exemplary. A particular thank you to the concierge and front of house team (especially Dipak, Dastageer & Jean-Marc you were stars!).

My husband and I visited Shangri-La Le Touessrok for a week of perfect relaxation. This hotel and the staff delivered on every single level. We were granted a room upgrade on arrival, we stayed in a Frangipani suite which has wonderful sea views and literally steps from the beautiful white sandy beach.
The staff were exceptional, nothing was ever too much trouble. The whatsapp facility was incredibly helpful and efficient. The room had everything we needed and they even accommodated my request for a yoga mat so I practice each morning looking out to sea. We also made use of the spa and the gym which included a spin bike and made me very happy.
The restaurants were exceptional, every dish was sublime and they never felt busy. Our personal favourite was Safran but honestly enjoyed the all and more than enough choice to eat at the al a carte restaurants for the duration of our stay.
The only negative experience we had was II Giardino, chef's table dining experience which we did not enjoy and would not recommend. We made a reservation for 8.30pm we were served 6 courses in 1hr and 10mins which was crazy fast and barely digestible If we had known it would be so rushed to get us out why not tell us to arrive earlier. The chef also only managed to speak 3 sentances to us so really not a chef's table experience. That said this is the only negative and we would not let this detract from our amazing holiday.
The only tip I would add is to pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper, the birds are awake from day break but what a beautiful noise to wake up to.
The private island is a wonderful touch and it was lovely to have somewhere to venture too with so much ease if you fancy a change of scenary without even needing to leave the resort.
We could not recommend this hotel more highly if you are looking for a relaxing break and incredible food and such such warm, friendly and attentive staff.

Arrived at the Shangri-La Mauritius for my 40th Birthday and all I can say is WOW!
From start to finish we were treated like kings and queens
Our room (113) was located in the most perfect spot close to the main restaurants and also the jetty. We were the only ones on our beach most days as others went to the other beach which is bigger and less windy but the breeze for us was nice so we always stayed on our beach as we had a beach access room.
The jetty was a 5 min walk and is perfect for going to the private island, we had lunch here one day and again treated like kings and queens, greeted upon arrival with cool towels and even cleaned our sunglasses for us, nothing is too much for the staff here its their pleasure,
The food here is great, we were half board which we would recommend as there is no where close by to go out to eat, you also get to choose from 3 restaurants, the Horizon which is buffet style, Saffron which is Indian and there is also a Japanese restaurant you can use as part of half board. We ate in Horizon and Saffron and the food was amazing, the chicken tikka in Saffron was divine and also the risotto in the buffet restaurant was my favourite. Please note drinks are extra at dinner times.
I want to give a shout out to Sahail who was our most amazing beach attendant. Sahail was there for us all day bringing us our complimentary water in a cooler box as soon as we arrived on the beach he was there helping us with our towels, bringing us nice cold sorbets, fresh fruit sticks and mouth watering coconuts and always stopped to have a chat with us.
All of the staff we saw were so friendly and always said hello whether it be housekeeping, maintenance team, front desk etc Even the chefs would have a chat with you whilst getting food. So friendly.
We also want to say book your boat trips with Joe (Neptune Pirate Co Ltd) Ask for Joe on arrival who will give you the best prices and the most amazing service from start to finish, we went on a private tour with our guide Sham who was a gentleman, he engaged with us from start to finish telling us the history of the island and again didn’t rush us on the trip at all. We went to see the water fountain, fed the monkeys, saw dolphins, parasailed (would highly recommend) snorkelled in the Indian Ocean and was served a beautiful fruit platter lunch. Sham even took the time to take us to the ATM at the end of our trip, Neptune Pirate Co Ltd are the most friendly and professional team, no pressure at all at purchasing a package, Joe tailors it to what you want to do from 2 hours to an all day trip and its all private so you get the boar to your self, amazing prices as well.
I could go on and on about how amazing this hotel is, but its the staff that make it that amazing.
Thank you for your hospitality and we can not wait to see you all again.

We were there in December. There is a sheltered bay in front of the hotel and the water there isn't very deep and you can swim there. The hotel also has a free shuttle boat to Mangenie island about 10 minutes away. It is a private island for Shangri La guests and there is sea swimming for proficient swimmers and shallow areas too. Enjoy.
Different rooms have different views of the beach. Best to call them. You can get ones with pure beach front or ones with the ocean view. We took the ocean view. Beach front was 400 steps for us. Awesome place.
