What an amazing stay at the Shangri-La Le Touessrok . We had 2 hibiscus junior suites overlooking the beach and ocean. Housekeeping - Nisha , Mohun, Tony & Dev-Kumar need a special mention. They showed such thoughtfulness in each daily visit. Food &Drink. -Bazaar for breakfast with the views and warm welcome from Niccole is a must. Pepita on the omelette station and Chef Desiree on the juice station were always happy to accommodate your request. Chef Ahmed really went over and above in his care and attention to ensure our meals were really satisfying. Thank you Bool and Remilla made breakfast so enjoyable for us. Bool has been there over 30 plus years and would greet us with warmth and a smile and share stories if we chatted to him. We booked Safran, where manager Ravi and Chef Devand made it so exceptional that we booked again. We tried the Buffet at Bazaar on the Mediterranean evening which surprised us with the quality and variety, so we went again on the Pan-Asia Night which we really enjoyed. Kushi was also very good. Activities- Gym staff - Dominique and Kishan really cared that their guests got the most out of their stay. A really big thank you. The staff at the boat house deserve a special mention. In addition to the great water sports, they played football with my boys every day and were great fun. Tennis courts -My sons and husband played regularly. Just missed the Padel which will commence soon. Beach - There are multiple beaches you can access with excellent cabanas and plenty of sun loungers. They have a call button on your sun lounger which allows you to request beverages and food. Island Hopping- There are free shuttle boats from the hotel jetty to Ile au mangenie and Ile aux cerf - make sure you visit they’re stunning. We also chose a private boat tour with Neptune which was excellent. We visited the Waterfall, snorkled and also saw the playful dolphins. Concluded with a bbq on Ile aux cerf which was great. Entertainment- Live music each night at The Sega Bar -Creoloke were a highlight. Staff - The staff are the hotels biggest asset .The warmth and service are above and beyond any of the similar hotels we’ve stayed at. Thank you to each and everyone of you. Apologies if you are not mentioned by name. Thanks again its a really fabulous resort with such an amazing team. We will be back. Mrs Batra and family.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our first visit to Mauritius and it was long awaited as we had had to cancel the year before when my husband got Covid. So we had spent a long time researching and looking forward to our (delayed!) honeymoon! Shangri-La did not disappoint! Room - we opted for one of the Frangipani rooms and it was definitely worth it. Not only were the rooms out of this world, but you got the option of having your breakfast in republik overlooking the beach every morning as well as daily happy hour getting ready for sunset. Not to mention access to a butler and a complimentary mini bar restocked daily. I wouldn’t take notice of anyone on previous reviews who have suggested these rooms are anything but amazing. Food - we stayed for a week and there was more than enough variety of different places to eat. The only thing I would say is make sure you book some of the places before you go. We were on half board package and we wanted to eat twice at Kushi as it was so nice. But obviously we didn’t know that til we got there. So by the time we came to rebook it was fully booked. So my advice is book yourself in for Safran and Kushi at least once if not twice before you get there. You can always move or cancel then if needed. Beach BBQ night Saturday is amazing - it was like a never ending amount of food! Plus they seem to have special visiting chefs too so we did that one night and it was great. Service was slow at the Republik alacarte but if you sit back and relax then it really doesn’t matter. Buffet at bazaar was lovely on Mauritian evening. Not so much on the spice evening. So maybe ask for the timetable and plan your meals at Kushi and Safran around your preferred buffet. Managers cocktail evening weds night - not sure if that’s just for frangipani guests but it was nice touch. The private island beach bar was amazing - definitely recommend the pizza there. Also the bento boxes that you can order for lunch are great too! There’s a little call button on your Sun lounger so you can ring if you need anything. They give you a cool box with free water which is a fantastic touch. Not to mention free sorbet and fruit through the day. Activities & spa - we had a massage which was divine. Definitely recommend booking in for that. There was an activities programme with something every day - yoga or aqua fit or boxing. Half way through our stay they swapped the 8am classes to be at 4pm which is a bit annoying as these sorts of activities are better done in a morning but it’s great they had a programme. We didn’t try the watersports as my husband had injured his back but they looked great and we definitely wish we had been able to. Tennis courts were good to have access to too. Free boat to ile au mangenie was fantastic. We loved going across. Ile aux cerf was more crowded but great you can also get there. You don’t need to do the boat trips just get the free shuttle boat from hotel jetty. Live music each night but nothing else much on a night. But we much preferred the sundown cocktail hour as our entertainment before dinner - Toto and big Lil were amazing and made me cry happy tears with their beautiful music! We didn’t even venture out of the hotel for the whole week which is very unlike us! But the hotel had everything we needed. Staff - the staff clearly want to go out of their way to help you and provide a good service. Nasser was fantastic- he liaised with my husband to arrange a surprise private breakfast on the beach and Nasser went over and above to make this a great experience for us. He has been there over 20 years and told us all of the changes he’s seen. He took loads of photos and videos for us. And he was so kind and caring in his approach to make it a surprise. Sailesh decorated our room as it was our honeymoon. Although he wasn’t our butler he took care to make it lovely and checked the next day to see if we liked it! Our own butler was no where to be seen really so I’m not sure if we were unlucky as I’ve seen other reviews saying they go out of their way to arrange surprises etc. They set you up with WhatsApp to arrange anything you need so that was super helpful. There is an app too and you can order things to your room like exercise mats and different pillows at the touch of a button. One day we had accidentally left our safe unlocked and the staff immediately report it and lock it for you so I felt they were very safety conscious. Beach - the beach being right in front of the pool was great. Plenty of loungers. But worth being aware because this is a coral island that the sand is quite sharp. Plus the sea is really a lagoon so it’s not very deep at all making swimming a bit difficult. I definitely advise taking water shoes with you as it makes it a much more enjoyable experience. I think this is a Mauritius-wide occurrence not specific to this hotel. General - we went in October which is the start of their spring. It was cloudy a couple of hours on some of the days and a little bit of rain. But the rain passes quickly. It is east coast so it can be a little windy. If I were to go again I might try November. We think this is the best hotel we have had the pleasure of staying in and our only wish is that we could have stayed longer. Tips - Frangipani room. Take water shoes. Book restaurants before you arrive. Visit the mangenie island. Enjoy!

Returned to this hotel after 14 years and a change of ownership and still absolutely love it! People are genuinely caring and attentive. We really enjoyed the catamaran trip which was new since our last visit. Fabulous food and entertainment made this a wonderful day out, especially as we saw dolphins!! Golf courses are fantastic. What makes this hotel unique is that it has its own island which you can visit by small boat. Luxurious sunbeds with thick mattresses, so relaxing. You even have a call bell in your cabana day bed for service - incredible. Complimentary towels and water in reusable bottles are a thoughtful touch. Bliss

This paradise-like hotel is in a class of it's own. The location must be one of the most stunning in the whole Island, with several private stunning beaches, the perfect sunrise views, clear water all around, a private island and just beautiful and modern architecture that meets the surrounding nature. All of the mentioned should be reason enough to book a stay, but then comes the incredible and high-end service-minded staff which goes above and beyond all of your expectations with every little detail. Like every hotel around the world, it all comes down to the people and the service. And the service here is simply amazing. Everyone from the front desk and the more than qualified Concierge (Merlin), to the waiters, housekeeping and staff at Ilot Mangenie (incl. the super kind sunglass-polish man) has been superior in every aspect. This places serves well for a place where you can relax completely and really indulge in all the hotels facilities. Highly recommendable!! For the minor issues we had during our stay (like flickering lights and menu change) the staff handled it in a very efficient and professional way.

Greeted on arrival by Harish Guest Experience Manager and Navni who explained everything in great detail. After our welcome drink, we were shown to our room. We were on the quieter side on the Coral Beach, and had amazing views. This was the windier side of the resort, however the breeze was welcome, however you can avail yourself to the other beach where the water sports are located and is not so breezy. The guys on the beach were very attentive and brought a cool box with water to you. We sampled all restaurants and the food is of a very high quality. Special thanks to Karen on the breakfast service in the Bazaar and the ladies on the egg station. Bryan in the Republik bar does the best Aperol Spritz. Vital attended to our special request for the mini bar and Veenash made sure our room had everything we needed. Prakash, beach, pool and events manager was very attentive and suggested the Catamaran boat trip which is solely for guests of the hotel. This was an excellent trip from start to finish, great food, drinks, entertainment and crew, highlighted by seeing dolphins. The guy, (sorry didn’t get his name) on the gate was a character and welcomed you warmly on your arrival and wished you well on your departure. All in all a great holiday.

Travelling from the UK we had not taken our 5 year old daughter on a lang haul flight before but Mauritius had always been on our list of destinations to visit and felt it would be the perfect place to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We have always been fans of the Shangri-la brand and have been fortunate enough to have staying in various Shangri-la resorts before. We unfortunately did not have the best travel experience due to issues with the flight, transfers and our daughter feeling unwell during the journey. However, from the moment we reached Shangri-la Le Touessrok Mauritius we were treated with the utmost hospitality and care. The entire team made us feel welcome and really went out of their way to look after us. Our daughter absolutely loved the kids club, she spoke about how much she enjoyed the activities and how lovely the lady's who looked after her where. I never thought I would feel conformable enough to leave our daughter unsupervised abroad without us being present. However my worries were soon removed after meeting the kids club team. Bridgitte Davasgaum from the kids club is an absolute asset to Shangri-la Le Touessrok Mauritius. She addressed any worries we had and assured us that our daughter's safety was of the utmost importance to them. The hotel were so kind in giving us a room upgrade and a late check out. The food that the hotel offers its guest is simply out of this world and is prepared with such love and care. To be honest there were so many members of the team that went out of their way to make our stay a special one. Ahmed the head chef from the Bazar was always so kind to us and made sure that our daughter always had something to eat she would enjoy. The head Chef from Safran also went out of his way and made my favourite Chicken Curry one night as a Suprise. Jessica one of the manager was also was so helpful and friendly as was manager Navin. One evening we had an issue where the people staying beneath our room were playing extremely loud music past midnight with their Terrance doors open. The next day I decided to ask to speak to the duty manager about the issue. I was greeted by Jean Robert Marie, he took note of my issue and assured me that this situation would not occur again, which it did not. He made the effort to speak with me through out our stay to ensure that there were no further incidents. We decided to do a tour of the North using the hotels lovely BMW which was so comfortable. Daniel was our driver, he was so helpful in getting the most out of the day. As our daughter loved the kids c we often had much time on our hands and were lucky enough to book massages at the spa during our stay. My wife has ran her own Beauty business for over 17 years so is an expert in massage. We both felt the massages we received were the best we had ever had in a hotel. Our stay at the Shangri-la Le Touessrok Mauritius was truly magical. We have never been one of those families that revisit a same hotel every year as the world is such a big place and there are so many places to visit. However after visiting Shangri-la Le Touessrok Mauritius we feel it is a place that we would love to visit for years to come. Putting it simply it is the best hotel we have ever visited and never have I returned from a holiday feeling so relaxed. There are so many hotels in London that could learn the true meaning of hospitality from the Shangri-la Le Touessrok Mauritius. Once again, a huge thank you to your entire team for making our stay a wonderful one.

A simply wonderful place. The rooms are lovely, the restaurants serve great food and the location is stunning; but it is the staff who make the hotel what it is: a place to relax and enjoy the very best of life. You must try the food on the beach (the bento box and the prawns are especially good), 5.00 o’clock golden hour and of course lunch on the hotel’s private island.
