I have just enjoyed 2 ½ weeks at the Shangri-La Le Touessrok. Location. The location is out of this world. On a beautiful long beach. My tour guide (Summer-Times Tours) told me, that the hotel is situated on the longest “hotel beach” of all the hotels in the country. Preparing my arrival – Front office staff support I bet both parties felt challenged. I planned my visit in connection with the re-opening og Mauritius, on the back of the Covid lock down. Regardless of the need to ask too many questions, to be safe and prepared for an arrival to another country, the Front Office staff replied patiently and correctly regarding all national admin requirements for foreigners arriving to Mauritius. Fitness facilities. If you are looking for great fitness facilities, which are not stock in a basement or dark corner, this very well-equipped Fitness Centre is overlooking a pool area and has large windows allowing for natural light to flow in. Often debated amongst female guests as a “safe fitness centre”. You do not feel alone, you are not stock in a basement room. Very important. The Fitness Management offers fitness classes throughout the day from early morning. All classes run by professional trained staff. Let me say, on a personal note; Dominique, who was my 07.00 hours trainer made me feel 10 years younger, even though he did one day tell me to stop. “Relaxing is also important” – he is right, still his professionalism makes me smile. SPA The SPA is a nice tranquil area with great staff, who pays attention and soon “reads” their guests’ needs, requirements and wishes. Professional all the way through. Dietary requirements The Chef of “The Republic” restaurant has made sure; I will return next year. I require a daily protein smoothie as part of my battle against an inflammatory condition. I brought my collagen and protein to the restaurant, a smoothie was prepared for me at NO hesitation, served with a wonderful smile – every time! (I wish I could do with the great menu offered, I cannot, and no one made me feel awkward once they had information on my requirements. On the contrary, everyone tried to make me comfortable, regardless of me feeling very humble. I look at the nutritional value of my food before I look to the “fine dining” aspect. I can glance at a plate of food and instantly calculate if it meets my daily needs in terms of protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals. I cannot do “fine dining” for weeks on end. Hence the arrival of very impressive vegetarian dished combining plant protein and fibres had a significant impact on my wellbeing. It also made me confident, a longer stay in 2022 will work well. (I have booked already). I am incredibly grateful and humbled by all the efforts made by The Culinary Director and The Chef at “The Republic.” I can fill a page with words of gratitude. General At hotels, there is often one or two staff, who does not make the mark. NOT here! I am humbled and impressed with all the efforts made by the staff. All your staff goes beyond the call of duty to make each guest feel, we are the only one that matters, the special one, and that is quite the skill. It takes efforts and energy, which all your staff gladly invest in their interaction with guests. I am booked – all this trouble (me) is coming back, I can hardly wait.

We loved our holiday. The service was the best we’ve ever experienced in the world. The staff were extremely friendly especially chef Ahmed and Mr Jauhan ameen. They were so hospitable and treated us like royalty. They are the reason why we are desperate to return to this hotel. This is our 4th time at shangri la- Le tousserok and we are eagerly awaiting the time when we can return again soon. ‎​‎​

I traveled with my husband, my toddler and my 3 month old, so service was the top of my list. And this hotel and the staff have lived up to my expectations. I will start with the food, we have strict dietary restrictions, being vegetarian and not eating onion and garlic and the chefs were nothing short of exceptional with the food they prepared for us. Chef Ahmed and his team from Le Bazaar (Chef Ravi, Chef Sabrina, Chef Karishma and the team) would inquire with us everyday for hot brekfast that can be served and preps can be made for lunch and dinner based on our preference for the day. This included dosa, paneer bhurji, asian noodle soup, falafel (absolutely delicious) for breakfast. Chef Ahmed went the extra mile to ensure our 2.5 year old son was getting food that he enjoyed. Especially when we had booked dinner for the Japanese cuisine, Chef Ahmed personally brought over some rice, yogurt and fries for my son, needless to say he was all smiles. All four restaurants accommodated us and ensured the food was tailored to our needs but also delicious. Including desserts. The room service - we had wonderful room maids that ensured our rooms were well cleaned up twice a day, especially appreciated it on the days we didn't have energy to tidy up after our toddler, Anisha, Sailesh, Yogesh Reshma, thank you. The staff at arrivals, Deepak and team made it a special experience for my son everyday. There were Koi fish in the pond, and everyday it was a treat for my son to feed the fish. I have listed just a couple of things here that goes to show the wonderful service we were provided and certainly a toddler and kiddies friendly hotel :) Thank you to all the staff, the ones whose names i didn't get and those that shared their light hearted moments with us, we would certainly love to come back :)

To start I would like to say thank you to Prakash and Ash for making our stay a memorable one. They were both extremely helpful and kind towards us. Also a big thank you to the one handed pasta chef in La Bazaar who probably made the best pasta I have ever tasted. That said, though most of the staff were friendly, they all seemed a bit out of place. I say this from the kindness of my heart, so that they might learn and grow from this review. The waters and waitresses often brought us the wrong drinks. If we ordered a cappuccino, we would sometimes get an American, sometimes a chococcino, at times cold milk, then hot milk in a jug, then hot milk in an extra mug??? That was not what one would expect from a 5 star resort. It was if if there was no consistency. Each time we ordered a Frappe, we would also get something different. Iced coffee one day and a coffee milkshake the next. It was disappointing. Also, the Restuarant food options were rather limited. We spent 5 days craving for something good to drink or eat, but we’re never really satisfied. Till the last day when our Pasta Chef made up for everything. We have been to another hotel in Mauritius before, which I would rather go back to next time. Le Touserok felt way too commercialised and lacked the intimate luxury feel that you would expect from a hotel in its Calibre. Still, we enjoyed the sheltered beaches on the one side of the Island as they were protected from the strong winds that one would face on the other side of the resort. The experience over all was okay, with a few staff members making it worth our stay there. I unfortunately was happy to be going home on our last day, and sadly won’t be looking to visit anytime soon again.

WoW, This place was amazing. It was my first time on the island, and I am glad I selected that hotel for our stay. It was my wife milestone birthday and we wanted to go somewhere special. The beach was nice, the food was nothing shorty than amazing. But the staff at the hotel were amazing. They made us feel really special. Ash and her friend (I wish I could remember her name) put together a surprise for us. And Ash even gave a present to my wife which was very nice of her. She even look into activities for us and organize the whole in such a short amount of time. At the Sega Bar, our friend Viraj did the same thing, from special birthday cocktail to cake and even ask the live band to sing happy birthday. That was awesome. Great thanks to them. I am DEFINITELY staying there next time I go back.

We had such a great experience and lovely engagements with lovely Mauritius people. Very humble people and the service is magnificent. A very friendly welcome from Ash at the reception area is unforgettable and we will forever cherish the moment. She goes extra mile to deliver excellent service. We are definitely coming back to Mauritius to experience more of this beautiful country and to reconnect with our friends especially Ash at Shangri La Le Touessrok. We have just returned from the paradise island of Mauritius on 19th May after a 10 night stay at the amazing 5-star Shangri-la Le Tousseoux hotel and resort – we had the most amazing time there. We had booked to go to Mauritius to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in March 2022, but sadly I caught Covid-19 5 days before the departure flight and had to cancel. We were so disappointed, as we had been planning the trip for nearly 2 years. We quickly re-booked to go out on 6th May 2022 for a 10-night stay which also happen to coincide with my birthday on 13th May (….so double event celebrations if you like). On arrival at the reputable Shangri-la hotel at around 9.00am, after a long 11-hour flight from the UK plus 1 hour transfer from airport to the hotel - we were greeted with warm friendly smiles and were made instantly welcome. We were offered light, refreshing drinks by Tresma and were briefly shown around the resort to get our bearings by Shay, which was unexpected and lovely. Also, to our delight and pleasant surprise our room was made available for an early check-in. Therefore, a great start to our special luxury holiday! We were looking for total relaxation and a stress-free holiday – we were not disappointed! The Shangri-la staff at all levels pulled out all the stops and made us feel really special during our 10-night stay. Their whole interaction with me and my wife was effortless and second to none, and quickly made us feel at home, and honestly speaking - we were really spoilt. The Shangri-la resort has a great location on the east side of the island and has a stunning shoreline with pristine white sands on a private beach. We made the most of what the hotel had to offer in terms of various facilities and activities, including Spa Massage treatments, Yoga, golf at Lle Aux Certs, archery, Le bocce, Paddle boarding, etc. The hotel has 3 fabulous restaurants to suit any occasion and caters for any special dietary needs and requirements, as well as 2 bars located near the 2 pools and beach front, offering live music every evening which we thoroughly enjoyed after our 3 course specially prepared dinner. We stayed at both Hibiscus and Frangipani rooms with beach access (on a half board basis), whilst the accommodation looked a little tired, they were well presented, clean and very comfortable as you would expect from a top class 5-star hotel. My birthday was amazing, everyone I met offered their birthday wishes and organised a birthday afternoon tea as a surprise near the pool area, and finished the day with a special dinner, followed by a lovely chocolate cake and champagne in our bedroom. Our special and heartfelt thanks go to: - Hotel senior management team – General Manager (Gregory Coquet), Jean Robert, Shyam Seegoolam, Sunil Beerbul, Harrish, Jessan Kadun, Akshay and in particular a massive thank you to a wonderful young gentleman by the name of Prakash Mungar - who went the extra mile.... he contacted us on daily basis to ensure we received the very best experience Shangri-la had to offer and were looked after like "royalty". Overall, the management team, who not only set the right tone on customer service and care of its guests but were also keen to gain honest and genuine feedback of our experience whilst at the resort including our view of the hotel, the rooms, staff, facilities and restaurants, etc – which was somewhat a refreshing approach for us and we were more than happy to share. - Masters chefs at each Restaurant – to chef Omesh at the Republic, chef Dev at Safran, chef Ahmed at Le Bazar, chef Khalid at the private Island of Ilot Mangenie – all of whom created such wonderful and personalised culinary mouthwatering masterpieces to cater for our vegetarian needs and also to mark both our special wedding anniversary and birthday occasions. Thank you so much to you and your staff for such a memorable and wonderful dining experience which we will treasure for the rest of out lives – truly unforgettable - Chi, The Resort Spa – Lavina and Norina were wonderful, both giving us one of the best massages we have had for a long time, expertly applying the right pressure points to the shoulders and back, 60 minutes of bliss, the whole experience was revitalising, enjoyable and relaxing – It was so good that we ended up having 3 treatments each! - Our allocated butlers: Bheemul and Bhartee – your service and dedication to looking after us was received with gratitude and we appreciated the high standards of care given to us during our stay. All the staff (whether customer facing or not), far too many to mention here - they were attentive to our needs and showed love and respect at every contact. Every morning we were greeted with warm friendly smiles and greetings. Nothing was too much trouble, and, on many occasions, we felt that the level of service went beyond our expectations. Thank you for making us part of the Shangri-la family – we will remember and cherish your hospitality forever in our hearts. We look forward to returning to the resort in the very near future.

We started our 2 week holiday on Mauritius with 2 night stay at Shangri-la Le Tousserok. We were greeted warmly on arrival at around 12.30 p.m. and got the Covid tests out of the way. Unfortunately they were not able to provide a room earlier than 2.00 despite an advance email request and the booked rate entitling early check-in (where available). On the positive side we were invited that evening to a "management cocktail" party that provided a nice bridge between Happy Hour free drinks at the Republik bar and dinner. The room was lovely, and the complimentary minibar drinks/snacks provided to Frangipane wing rooms were appreciated but a minor gripe was that our room faced the wind exposed direction and at night the sound of the wind/waves and breakers on the reef interfered with sleep. The main attraction for me when booking was the private island with ferry service and this was definitely a highlight. At Ilot Mangenie you can sunbathe, lunch, and (as we did) walk across and over to Ile aux Cerfs. The spot where the two islands meet is very picturesque. Back at base the adult pool is beautiful but there are so few sunbeds we never managed to get to sit and admire the surroundings. Food was all excellent apart from some slightly disappointing prawns at Safran. In particular the a la carte breakfast on the beach was a highlight of the day. Staff were all very friendly - in fact one of the management team was somewhat over-friendly asking me if I was a jockey (due to my stature). I wasn't offended ! An added bonus was the opportunity to see and play with the three resident giant tortoises that live in the garden. All in all it was an excellent start to our holiday in Mauritius. Based on our personal preferences and the relative cost I think we got the balance right with 2 nights here (to start our trip with a top end experience), 6 nights Airbnb (Etoile de Mer) in Trou aux Biches (highly recommend) and 6 nights at The Residence, Belle Mare (loved this hotel/beach). Thanks to everyone (sorry forgotten names) at Shangri-la Le Tousserok for a memorable couple of days.
