Two weeks of absolute bliss. The Receptionists were lovely ladies, helpful, cheerful, informative and just wonderful to see their smiles when going in for an unbelievable breakfast! Ajay, of course, was just as amusing .... always smiling and great personality. Housekeeping staff were also excellent. Security personnel were friendly and helpful. In fact all the staff were brilliant. Beautiful setting and perfectly situated on the beach and very close to Popo Supermarket which has all you need. Good local restaurants and bus stop very close to get into Grand Baie. Highly recommend this amazing hotel and well worth the price. Greetings from Dries and Carol Barnard - South Africa
We spent quite some time investigating which hotel to choose on Mauritius. The effort paid off. This is a wonderful hotel situated right on the best part of the Troux au Biches beach. The hotel's sunbeds are always available, and you can have a clean beach towel every day. They offer quite a few free water activities. We went snorkelling with a glass bottom boat free of charge. The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is wi-fi in the rooms, in the reception and in the dining area. The rooms are very nice, big and clean. The porch is huge, it even has a dining area. I highly recommend this hotel!
We were strolling along the beach & decided to stop for a drink at The Sakoa which has a beautiful location. We approached the bar & the waiter was making teas/coffees. After a prolonged silence, with no greeting or acknowledgement, I asked do I take a menu, sit & wait to be served? He raised his head, gestured towards the menus on the bar and said, yes sit. Eventually we were served and the drinks delivered with a dour face. My wife thanked him but received no reply. Although staying close by & intending to return perhaps for dinner, having a poor & unfriendly experience, that will be a No Merci!
Disons plutot que cétait une escapade agreable en pleine semaine . Un break memorable du 26 au 28 Novembre 2019. Husband and I were happy to be away and enjoying the sun ,the beach, the good food. We had a sea view apart ,very near to the sea, the resto and the seabed(transat) ... clean and very cosy! the staff welcoming , easy going et aux petits soins .. the tourists especially those having long stay at the hotel were keen to make new local friends. Des moments tres agreables . A refaire.
Can't fault the location, surroundings and rooms which are finished to a very good standard. Trou aux Biches has a stunning beach and Le Sakoa is in one of the best spots to take advantage of this with some free activities thrown in. Unlike other reviews we found the service to be a bit hit and miss at times. For us to rate this as excellent there are a few things the hotel could do. The sunbeds could do with cushions ( which a lot of the other hotels had ) given most people tend to spend a lot of time on the beach - they are o.k for a few hours before numbness sets in. Would have expected a bit more on the Eco front - i.e water refill station and removal of single use plastic bathroom accessories would not go amiss. Restaurant is expensive compared to a lot of other good eating options within walking distance - may have explained why there were only a few guests there on quite a few nights during our stay. Overall still a good stay in a fantastic place and would recommend if staying in this area. With a just a few tweaks could be even better.…
