Detailed Reviews
We absolutely loved our stay at Sakoa. The hotel is small so you receive such a warm and personal service, the staff always remember your orders and are friendly and polite, from reception to restaurant to housekeeping to security staff.
We paid for half board and didn't regret it - 4 courses were offered on a fixed menu each evening; an 'amuse bouche', a starter, a main and a dessert, with a choice of 2 main courses, usually one fish and one meat. And it was excellent food, really tasty, local, different dishes each night. I have a dairy allergy and the team were really good with recognising how to adapt dishes for me and asked me each evening what I would like for dessert!
The room was exceptionally clean and a great size with a mini fridge, kettle and local ground coffee (topped up daily) and coffee percolator included. The hotel offers a turn-down service so it felt like there was a lot of attention to detail and a really thoughtful and thorough service. The room we had was advertised as a 'garden view' but we could see the sea from our balcony too so that was a nice surprise. The road was a little noisy if sat on the balcony, but not disruptive, and you weren't aware of it from inside the room, the balcony had table and chairs and a couple of armchairs plus candles for the evening and we thorough enjoyed sitting in this space reading and watching the local birds in the garden.
The hotel has a private beach with parasols and sunbeds and a dedicated swimming area (the lagoon is quite busy with boats) they also provide beach towels for your use. Watching the sunsets on the beach each evening really was special. There are a few beach vendors who approach you but it never felt too hassled or unsafe at all.
It is very well placed to visit local attractions and the hotel will help you organise taxis if you don't hire a car.
I also had a massage in the wellness spa which was absolutely incredible!
We would absolutely recommend staying at Sakoa, a really peaceful, beautiful hotel with wonderful staff who helped to make our fortnight stay very special.

We spent quite some time investigating which hotel to choose on Mauritius. The effort paid off. This is a wonderful hotel situated right on the best part of the Troux au Biches beach. The hotel's sunbeds are always available, and you can have a clean beach towel every day. They offer quite a few free water activities. We went snorkelling with a glass bottom boat free of charge. The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is wi-fi in the rooms, in the reception and in the dining area. The rooms are very nice, big and clean. The porch is huge, it even has a dining area. I highly recommend this hotel!

We were looking for a simple disconnection and we found a little paradise... last minute we were looking for a place to chill and relax with the children and by seeing the hotel around we decided to call the Trimetys reservation and I was so amazed about the efficiency and rapid response from a certain Deepa, she was so professional, I can feel a passion through the phone...
While arriving at the hotel the sanitary protocols were present and the sense of arrival is just breathtaking... suite 16 what a little joy, well situated, spacious, kids and parents were just amazed. from the reception to the security guard on the beach all team members was so polite and willing to help. big thanks to the F&B team well lead by the F&B Manager ( with a great professional path, we enjoy traveling with all his experience)what to say about the food simple, well presented and so tasty just a gorgeous culinary journey well marshaled by the young chef de cuisine. I would also like to thank the room service waitress that served our breakfast on our terrace.
last but not least a big hat off to Mr. Olivier Cerdor the Resident Manager for leading such a jewel and such a fantastic team.
Will surely become an ambassador of your hotel and group.
Sincerely
Percy

If you wish to stay somewhere intimate, relaxing with a beautiful beach then look no further.
Loved my stay at Sokoa, set on a stunning beach, the rooms are large and well decorated, with fabulous views of the Indian Ocean. We stayed on a dinner, breakfast basis, food is sublime with a varied menu each evening, breakfast was excellent, staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful.
Really lovely extras included, complimentary tea & crepes in the afternoon, along with a 20 min massage included for each day of your stay.

Recently made a booking at Sakoa Boutik Hotel and everything was perfect from the moment of making the booking and until we checked out. Our reservation request was quickly handled and confirmed, special requests in room were efficiently arranged. Warm welcome upon arrival by the front desk and we were quickly shown to our room which is very cosy and well equipped with the various amenities. Will stay again and has already started to recommend the hotel to my friends and family.

The title of our review says it all. We booked three nights here but left after our first night Feral cats were sleeping and fighting in our honeymoon suite room while we, too, we’re trying to sleep. We saw one climbing along the rafters when we turned the light on. A. Is allergic to cats and woke up very puffy. The reason that I gave a 3 rating rather than 1 was the response from management. They refunded our next two nights right away, apparently caught and relocated the cats the next day, and were very sorry for our experience. The other problem here is that they are cheap. The “welcome drink” could not be alcoholic. Our rate included breakfast but if you ordered cappuccino it was extra. Breakfast was pretty meager as well. Some of the rooms are right next to a busy road. So at best I would rate this hotel a 4 had we had no problems, and probably a 2 for value for money. The beach is the best part of the hotel, but other hotels on the island have similar beaches.

The main area is nice, although the pool is very small. You can't swim in there, it is just good for a refreshing dip. The staff gives the feeling to be annoyed whenever you have a question. We first had a room directly on the street, it was impossible to sleep, it also was dark, full of ants and had a broken toilet, the bed was worn out. Upon request we could change the room without further discussion, the second room was worlds better, with more lovingly and modern furniture.
The food in the morning is actually not too bad with eggs of choice, pancakes, fruit...but it feels rather shabby because the presentation of the food is really poor, which I think should really be improved for what you pay. Only little choice of bread available.
The private beach is really nice, the beach-chairs should be replaced as a lot of them are broken or worn out.
The overall experience was good, although we expected more for the money paid.

Dear Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay at Sakoa Boutik Hotel. We truly appreciate your valuable comments, and we're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We're glad you found the main area nice and enjoyed the refreshing dip in the pool. However, we apologize if it was not suitable for swimming; your feedback is duly noted. It's disheartening to hear that you felt our staff was less than accommodating, and we will address this issue to ensure that all our guests feel welcomed and assisted. We apologize for the inconveniences you faced in your initial room. We're pleased that we could swiftly accommodate your request for a room change, and it's great to hear that the second room was a significant improvement with modern and lovingly furnished interiors. Your comments regarding the breakfast presentation, bread selection, and the condition of beach chairs are noted, and we will certainly work on enhancing these aspects to provide a more enjoyable dining and beach experience. We appreciate your overall positive feedback, but we regret that the value for money did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is crucial to our continuous improvement, and we hope to have the opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future. Warm regards, Sakoa Boutik Hotel team

We stayed at Sakoa Boutik for 6 nights and it was absolutely great! The rooms are very clean and large and you have everything you need. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. No matter what we asked, we were always treated very well. The food is extremely delicious and also fairly priced (we had half board, so we only paid for lunch). While eating, you always have a breathtaking view of the beach and the sea. The beach area in general is beautiful, clean and one of the best in the whole area. We would book again at any time and may do so again soon ;)!

The location of the property could not be better. The property is located directly on the beach with lounge chairs on the beach directly in front of the property. The room was fully equipped (filter coffee is a really nice touch!) and comfortable. Access to water sports arranged by the hotel was a real benefit. Though some might find the set dinner menu (on the half board package) limited, the food was exceptional, some of the best we had in Mauritius. My only suggestions would be to supply fresh milk in the room, and some additional training of reception staff. Information with regards to our reservation and choice off the a la crate menu, in case we didn’t want to select the set menu, was not always accurate, which created some frustration in an otherwise perfect stay.

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom92 contributions84 helpful votesHi is there any entertainment on an evening either in le Sakoa or nearby. Are there any bars and restaurants in walking distance or short taxi ride. Thank you
There are some nice restaurants/bars within walking distance.
As for entertainment there is just very subtle music (guitar, sitar ....) in the Le Sakoa restaurant at the weekend. We ate outside the hotel except for two occasions without music. The hotel itself is perfect for relaxation and peace (however Coastal Rd. audible early morning in garden view room No.4) - entertainment elsewhere.
One restaurant, that was still shut end Sept., had karaoke advertised.
Have a great time!Regards, Barbara
