Le Palmiste Resort & Spa is celebrated for its clean, spacious rooms with balconies and daily fresh linens, nestled in a quiet, tropical location near the beach. Many guests are impressed with the hotel's cleanliness, particularly the spotless pools and attentive housekeeping. The range of amenities, including clean pools and diverse food options, also receives positive mentions. This hotel is great, we have visited Mauritius before but have never stayed here but we were not disappointed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the balconies or patios are of a good size. The hotels 3 pools are well kept, the main pool was noisy at weekends when the hotel seemed to be busier, but the 2 smaller pools were quieter. Food here is excellent, they try to cater for all tastes but like all hotels have a budget to keep to, that said there was a good choice which was both tasty and well presented. All food on all inclusive option was buffet style with some themes repeated each week but the content did vary and reflected local food as well as catering for more conservative European tastes. The all inclusive drink range was good and all drinks were served by helpful and friendly staff. The staff at this hotel were lovely, helpful, efficient and eager to please, our maid Aarti was brilliant, leaving us towel sculptures that were beautiful. Reception staff were very helpful and eager to please. The Spa was also very good, Jaya gave us a wonderful Indian head massage. The standards of decor were good and the grounds both pretty and well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, it lived up to expectations.

My hubby and I stayed at the Le Palmist for 2 weeks in June, and what a great 2 weeks it was. We were met outside reception by a very nice young lady who offered us seats took some details then went into reception, then Ajay the manager/owner came out to greet us and we received a very welcome cold drink of iced tea. We had a lovely chat to him about the hotel and our journey he is a very welcoming and personable chap, with regard to our room when booking we had requested a ground floor on booking due to mobility issues however we got a room where there were a few steps up it was such a lovely room we accepted it and were glad we did because our view was great and the air con was amazing. The room was big and in fact it had a separate room with a single bed in, we also had a sofa 2 bedside cabinets and a dressing table in the the main bedroom, there was a very good sized bathroom too overall a great room with a balcony with table and chairs that we made good use of. We had our rooms cleaned everyday, towels changed when we left them on the floor and sheets changed a few times during our stay all in all we were very happy with the care taken to make our stay comfortable and the maid was a lovely lady always smiling and friendly.
To be honest we didn't really use the pools we were out and about a lot though on a couple of occasions we did spend a couple of hours relaxing/reading by the one near to our room {which was the first one near reception}.
The food was very good lots of variety and the restaurant staff were very attentive too, there were so many choices some days we were so spoilt for choice however there was not not one day of our holiday where we didn't enjoy our food.
The bar staff were great especially Ravi who was on the ball every night making sure we had drinks and we had some lovely conversations with him, he showed us photographs of his 3 daughters { who were beautiful to be honest} he was very proud of them and rightly so.
Ravi is definitely an asset to the hotel so personable as was Yash too they made our stay a relaxing experience.
This hotel is a short walk to the beach and bus stops, we went on buses quite a few times during our stay and they are cheap very cheap so do use them to go visit some beautiful places we did and would again.
I'm trying to think of any cons with this hotel because I'm aware that there are usually some cons and the only thing we can think of is this, we were all inclusive for the 2 weeks we were there and there are 2 bars the one near the restaurant {that we used nightly after dinner} and there was a pool bar however if we used the pool bar we had to pay [we didn't use it we used the other if we were there during the day} we couldn't understand the logic of that to be honest because the hotel is in substantial grounds and if we wanted a drink during the day we had to walk to the restaurant bar {The drink didn't have to be alcohol it could be a bottle of water, coffee or even a soft drink} it just seemed a strange thing that we had to walk past a pool bar to get a drink in the other having said that it wouldn't stop us going again I definitely would recommend this hotel if you want to go to Mauritius but don't want to pay the very high prices of the beach front hotels.

Me and my husband stayed here for 10 nights for our honeymoon, we had a lovely time here.
We cannot praise the staff enough for what they've done during our stay.

We love the location of this hotel, supermarket is very nearby, we had all inclusive stay, but if you don't there are many choices of restaurant for you to choose. Beach is accessible in walking distance, there are posy office nearby if you want to send any postcards, souvenir shops, and little shops who sell coconuts drinks, pineapple, etc.
You can also go to Pamplemousse, Port Louis, and Grand Baie by bus, very cheap, and you can access bus stops in the walking distance. And ATM too.

Food buffet were good, they don't have a lot of choices, but sometimes it's a good thing, food taste so good, and fresh. Staff in the restaurant are good and efficient, chef were very pleasant. Bar staff are good and friendly, cocktails good.

Rooms is cleaned everyday, smell fresh. Quite spacious, AC worked very well, bed and pillow very comfortable.

The reception staff are very helpful, amazing compliment to them, they suggested some excusions for us, which ended up as great choices, they very helpful when they had to cancel the excursion due to weather and managed to reschedule us for next one and ensuring it's all done very smoothly despite. The manager very friendly and helpful, We can see that he wanted to ensure we had the best time in Mauritius and we did!

Swimming pools are kept clean in the morning, with a friendly staff, they are nicely located so it will be accessible from you rooms.

They have few entertained, Sega dance were amazing, Kareoke too, to be honest we always had early bed due to busy days. But we can hear the entertainment going on.

Overall our stay were amazing, we love the hotel, we love Mauritius, great friendly professional staff. So thank you so much for making our honeymoon memorable. All the best

When we check in somebody came near the security gate to welcome us, he was not welcoming at all, not a smile and was so rude. The lady at the reception didn't even greeted us. The staff at the restaurant for the buffet also lack a smile. Welcome team is not welcoming at all and not polite. Quality hotel in general nevertheless a slightly warmer welcome would be appreciated.

Tv is all blurry and the reception was poor. No access to outdoor Jacuzzi as it was not in use.

There was no hot water in the room. We complained several times, after which somebody came, but could not fix it. We had no hot water during our stay.

For room cleaning services, I requested 4 times and they came to clean the room at 3.00 p.m and there was a baby in one room, she was sleeping at that time. Her parent didn't apprecieate it as it would disturb her. The wash bassin was blocked, water was leaking from toilet and went to the bathroom which was not hygienic. No action was taken to repair it. I spent the whole day making complains which spoiled my holiday.

Mr Ajay the Manager is very rude blaming manager and was somewhat insensitive to our problems. When we asked him for some service, he would make a joke as if to buff us. The level of service was poor unfortunately. There are still some basic fundamentals that would improve the overall quality of the hotel.

We came there to relax but unfortunately we were disappointed and stressed. I have visited this resort and had one of the worst experience. Not worth the 3 superior as the hotel claims to be. No Value for Money!

We went to Le Palmiste Hotel thrice in the past, and January 2020 was our fourth stay so I can clearly give a credible & honest opinion. This said, I have nothing to gain and I'm just stating the facts.

To start with, having 3 pools and 1 jacuzzi were very nice; everyone could enjoy it freely BUT the water in the mini jacuzzi was filthy and greasy. Even after addressing this issue with one of the staffs, nothing was done at their end, thus defeating the purpose of having a jacuzzi.

The next point relates to the rooms provided. We were attributed the rooms 225, 306 and 308 for our 2 nights stay and frankly speaking, they were disgusting (especially rooms 306 & 308). The sewage (i.e manhole) was opposite to the room 308, and there was a very bad and displeasing odor prevailing throughout the corridors/stairs. Moreover, the staircases were not clean; we could clearly find cockroaches/spilled water there. The first time that I went to this hotel, this issue was not present.

The next important issue was the food (personally, a key determinant of the standard of a hotel) and without a doubt, the food was horrible/bland/uncooked and repetitive. Despite showcasing a variety of foods, the quality and taste were really below expectations for a 3 star hotel. The first time that I went to this hotel (approx. 4-5 years ago), the food was really good.

For my first dinner, I had chicken tandoori, and I don’t know if the chef knows what a tandoori is, but it was clearly not one. And for my first lunch (the next day), the same chicken was served but in a different paste which was tasteless. We could clearly notice that the same chicken was served as it had the same previous insipid taste. Recycling food is good, but if it turns out to be a tasteless, then it’s a waste!

Same applied for dessert. We all love to have some dessert BUT eating the same thing over and over again for consecutive days demonstrates the poor quality of F&B. For instance, we had a chocolate mousse which was good, but for the next 2 days, the same dessert was served but with different topping and form. Same applied for the genoise.

The last issue concerns the breakfast served, specifically at the egg and pancake station. Only 1 cook was assigned to this station and all guests (including tourists) complained about the long queue.

As said earlier, I have nothing to gain from this review but I hope that the hotel takes the above points into considerations and improve accordingly.

Food was very poor, poor choice, and very cold buffet selection . The staff seemed very polite and helpful (if you were a male) until they charged my wife double for drinks, they charged me the correct price . Rectified, upon me confronting them. Pointless my wife doing anything as they chose to ignore her in the drinks queue anyway. They weren't happy and reception didn't seem too bothered, however reception apologised for this. Toaster was not working one day, staff were just rinsing the plates and cutlery in the area behind the food area, then putting out for use. This was the same with the glasses in the bar. Personally, I don't think this was very hygienic. Rooms were clean and tidy enough though. The red wine was great, it had to be, as the food wasn't.

We had an excellent stay at the Palmiste!
The airport - hotel transfer went very well with a driver who kindly answered our questions about the island (it was our first time in Mauritius).
At the hotel we were very well received by the staff and the manager.
The room was located outside the hotel but it was also good (quieter). It was large and we had a large terrace, cleaning was done every day as was the bed and it was equipped with air conditioning so great!
The meals were also very good, it was varied, there was something for everyone. We especially appreciated the breakfasts which were also varied and very good!
A big thank you to the staff who were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay!
They were able to explain to us what to do on the island.
On the other hand, we rented a vehicle with the hotel (1600 rupees per day) and we took a "swimming with dolphins" excursion with the hotel as well, while an agency is 2 minutes walk away from the hotel. Hotel on your right rented the car for 1000 rupees per day and the tours were cheaper through them too. But we understand, everyone makes their own way as best they can 😊
I recommend this hotel without hesitation! Thank you so much !

The food was delicious and the outdoor area was very nice. The people were friendly. The pools were great. The loungers too, only the cushions show how many people have already lain on them...

Unfortunately, various websites have offers for the hotel that are no longer available or are very limited. For example, volleyball or water sports as well as entertainment in the hotel.

The rooms are unfortunately very old and definitely need to be renovated - especially the bathrooms. The air conditioning was constantly dripping and we had a puddle in front of the door.

The hotel should also be better organized. Too much has to go through reception, such as changing towels, renting a car, renting a bike, exchanging money, etc. Or if you just wanted a table tennis ball, you sometimes had to wait so long that you didn't feel like it anymore... So there really should be more "contact points" for various requests, e.g. a special stand for towels, etc.

It was also a shame that you only got fresh towels every other day and even then there weren't always enough for everyone, so we once had to wait a whole morning for fresh beach towels.

The WiFi in the room was almost non-existent. Even in the "lobby" you had all the bars every now and then, but the Internet was suuuuuper slow... It's actually quite healthy not to have so much WiFi around you sometimes, but it was sometimes a bit difficult to plan trips or similar on the Internet on your own because the pages simply couldn't load.

Many of these circumstances are of course familiar from other southern holiday destinations and can be dealt with. We were simply disappointed that a lot of what was advertised online for this hotel wasn't actually available.

And above all, you don't pay as much for a hotel in other countries! We were aware that we had chosen one of the cheaper hotels, but it was still a lot more money than in other holiday countries where you get all-inclusive and better facilities and programs for the same price.

So our summary: the price-performance ratio is not right.

We were still able to enjoy the beautiful beach and the wonderful sea :) The weather was also wonderful! :)

Hotel Le Palmiste is a very good choice. It is located approx. 150 m from one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritis, approx. 150 m from a very well-stocked market (good prices and selection). There are taxis in front of the hotel, which are worth using (the price should be agreed before the course) to explore the island. Rooms cleaned daily - very clean throughout the hotel. The food is tasty and varied - every day a different type of cuisine for supper (e.g. Mediterranean, Creole, etc.). The staff at the reception, in the restaurant and throughout the hotel are very polite and helpful. I recommend and hope to visit this hotel in the future.
