Right from the get go, the team at Le Morne were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had emailed prior to arriving to ask for a preferred room location, spa treatments and booking a table at East, their Thai restaurant. I dealt with Priyanka who we then got to finally meet when we arrived. What an amazing young lady! Together with Marin, who is Lux’s special event organiser, think ‘Fairy Godmother’, these two made our holiday beyond enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble, we had some lovely treats and appreciated everything. The room was perfect, one of the most comfortable beds with superb linens and pillows….we adored the outside shower. I’m not sure I will ever get over not having this treat every day. The property and facilities are very good. Beautifully designed and there is clearly pride in the way the team care and make your stay as good as possible. We loved the intimate and classy feel of the bar and the Cafe Luxe coffee was stylish and welcoming, loved that you could come here for an after dinner coffee and maybe a liquor?? For us, the only negatives were the beach was a little gritty…quite sharp coral so bring your sea shoes and there is little in the way of entertainment past 9pm. The resort sort of goes to sleep shortly after then. Maybe consider a night or two with some music til 10pm for us ‘later to bed’ people? We had 2 weeks in Mauritius, half in Lux Le Morne and the 2nd part in Lux Belle Mare. It would be wrong to say which was ‘better’ as they both have exceptional qualities but, it would be fair to say the feeling at Le Morne is that they look after you as a very valued guest, they make your stay feel personal and maybe because it’s a smaller property, it feels more like ‘home’. All in all, a lovely place with exceptional staff. Once again a huge thanks to Priyanka & Marin in particular.

We've just returned from a very swift five night stay at Lux Le Morne, and our overall view is that it was wonderful. It's been a lovely few days. We're used to staying in some pretty high-end places (e.g. Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, the Oberoi in Bali, and Qasr al Sarab in the UAE), and eat out a lot in posh restaurants in places like London, so although there are some criticisms in this review, they do not detract from the overall experience - merely a few pointers about what could (possibly) be improved. First, the positives. The hotel's location is stunning. The beach is superb, and its location at the foot of Le Morne Brabant is gorgeous. The design of the hotel is wonderful (and I think has been much improved from the previous brown-dominated Balinese style which the older pictures suggest). The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is not too big, which helps the feeling that it is very personal. The transfer from the airport is also not too long (around an hour). So, on to some more quibbles (none of which is a deal-breaker). Our room (prestige junior suite) was maybe a bit smaller than we were anticipating. It wasn't a major issue, just a slight surprise. Having said that, it was beautifully decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the its location (our room was 254) was perfection: it was a 15 second stumble onto the beach and a 30 second stroll to the Beach restaurant (our favourite), which despite having two theme nights while we were staying, was never too noisy for us. In general, the food was great. We were on the all-inclusive plan, which made life a bit easier. It wasn't always too easy to figure out what was included and what wasn't, and there were some supplements for some things (particularly cocktails), but this didn't prove to be a major problem. There were some oddnesses - I asked for some spicy sauce to go with my pizza and then gave me a little pot of Mauritian chill paste (the sort you get to add to dhal puri) which was absolutely delicious, but they charged me something like 150 rupees for it (not very much - only maybe £2.30) but it seemed a bit odd. I have got into cocktails recently, both making them at home, and also going to some smart cocktail bars, and unfortunately, the cocktails really aren't up to their standard. We did go off-list a couple of times (for example an espresso martini), and it wasn't anything like as good as you could get in London. Not unpleasant, but just not as good. The included cocktail list is a bit limited. There is a mai tai, but it was very sweet, and I had to ask for the sweetness to be dialled back a bit (which improved it enormously). I think there was also a non-inclusive mai tai, and I should have ordered one of those to see what the difference was. In the end, we mostly stuck with wine and beer (the included beer is local, which is lovely: exactly the sort of cold lager you need on a tropical island) as is the included wine (the bizarrely, if logically, named ScruCap and PopCap). The PopCap, in particular, was lovely - a sparkling white wine which was pretty neutral, but worked very well in things like Bellinis or Kir Royales. There was also a range of whites (we tried the Riesling and Sauvgnon blanc, both lovely), rosé and reds (I think the cabernet sauvgning was my favourite, the Merlot less so). Food was great, but I think we would have started to get a bit bored had we stayed much longer. It was a great pity that we weren't able to get to the Mauritian night at the Beach restaurant, as the best food I had there was the dhal puri from the Kitchen (buffet). The Beach was our favourite restaurant. The lunches in particular were lovely, with international food like burgers, and pizzas (pretty well done - the first one I had was undercooked slightly, but the second one was spot on. Not the best pizza I have ever had, but pretty good, nonetheless). The Kitchen is a pretty huge cavernous place which is set up for buffets. I'm not a great fan of buffets. I've been to some of the high end ones in Vegas, and while the range is impressive, there is always a temptation to try everything. The other issue is that it's difficult to have a proper chat because you or your companion(s) are forever popping up and down to get stuff. However, as buffets go, it was pretty good. Notably, there wasn't too much in the way of make-weight carbs, which is usually the sign of a poor buffet. At lunch, there is an à la carte menu, with more international hotel food (e.g. club sandwiches), which was fine. Breakfast was also pretty good, again, buffet style. One morning, we did order breakfast in our room (included in all inclusive, but subject to a fairly small tray charge). it was fine, but did take well over an hour to arrive. Lazing by the beach was marvellous, and the wifi is superb (some of the coconut palms are fitted with disguise hotspots), and there is a call button on the beach umbrellas so you can summon a waiter. The app was a good idea, but it really didn't work so well (the idea is that it would present you with a timeline of things you had booked, for example), but it never quite worked properly. So- frustrations: it would have been good to have had the opportunity to book Mauritian night in the Beach restaurant before we arrived. It's a real pity we missed that. Some additional clarity on what was included in all inclusive would have helped, and upping the cocktail game as well. We would also have liked to have seen more emphasis on Mauritian specialities - food, and rum! Overall, as I say, it was a lovely trip, and we will cherish the fond memories. Will we be back? Quite possibly. We would love to come back to Mauritius, but there are also a lot of other very tempting hotels (including another two Lux properties) on the Island which also look quite intriguing...

We spent an amazing week at Lux Le Morne as part of our honeymoon . The service was impeccable and started way before we even got there. Manie was amazing at organising activities and everything we needed to make our stay both memorable and special from start to end. Special mention to Vik as well for the personal service. He also managed to get us some fresh sea urchins that were lovely. We also had a sunset photoshoot with Hemanth the photographer and the results were something special. Overall the staff were amazing, the facilities were excellent, and the sunsets were to die for! I would highly recommend staying there.

Had a great time at Lux Le Morne. It was my first time there and let me tell you how awesome it was! Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles and friendly staffs. Check in was fast and easy and we were taken to our room after some refreshments. The hotel is small and very cozy. The room is not as big as the Lux Belle mare or Lux Grand gaube but it still very nice. We had a nice view of the pool. The buffet at night and for breakfast were very nice and had a good variety. All the staffs were very nice and service was great. overall stay was awesome. Will def go back and I highly recommend this hotel!
