After a two year wait since booking the St Regis (at time of booking) now rebranded as JW Marriott, and four delays to our stay due to Covid-19 (initially meant to stay September 2020) we finally got to enjoy a much anticipated holiday. Initially, I was a little nervous about the rebranding to JW Marriott, mainly because the draw of St Regis was what made us book our holiday through a deal we found on Travel zoo with luxury holidays direct. We had a 10 nights stay in an Ocean view and access junior suite on a full board basis. From start to finish, the service and attention to detail we experienced was fantastic. The staff all seem to really take pride in their jobs and go above and beyond for all their guests. We felt like royalty, with most staff greeting us by our names and always checking in with us to see if we were enjoying our day and if we needed anything. Special mention to our butler Jaysen for everything he did for us, all the special little touches in our room, from champagne and chocolates on arrival, to making sure we woke up to tea or coffee in bed, and having our favourite drinks arranged for us. He really made our stay beyond special. Vimal and Akshay had our sun loungers ready for us in our favourite spot on the beach each morning, and practically waited on us hand on foot - nothing was too much trouble and we were spoilt rotten! The spa was to die for us, I treated myself to two of the daily spa specials. The spa itself feels completely independent from the hotel and was beautifully furnished and equipped. I had a Balinese massage with Angela and then a coffee and cardamon body scrub and massage with another therapist (I am sorry I didn't catch her name) which was lovely and I felt so relaxed and my body was like a newborn baby afterwards! In regards to the food... god, I miss those breakfasts! The bircher muesli was to die for - nothing can taste that good and not be 1000 calories. We were lucky enough to experience Le Manoir with both the buffet dinner and ala carte options - exceptional food! The boathouse restaurant served fantastic seafood and a chocolate pudding desert which my husband was very concerned about how much I enjoyed! Nicholas, Ryan and a few others I am afraid I am unable to remember their names always made meal times the best they could be - from remembering which of us had coffee over tea or that I would need a teaspoon to get the bircher out of the pot each morning - those little things that they take notice of really make you feel valued as a guest. The indian restaurant had just reopened two days before we were due to leave so I was grateful to try that as well - gorgeous food and I thought the staff coped very well with some difficult guests complaining about 'atmosphere' - in my opinion, the only atmosphere was the one those guests created themselves! Virgine dealt with this very well, another staff member worth mentioning for her pleasant and courteous demeanour. We also sampled the Japanese and Thai restaurants while we were there - both very enjoyable and because we were full board we were able to enjoy most of the meals that came at a supplementary cost without having to pay, though most supplement prices were next to nothing anyway. Thank you to Karishma for organising our reservations and making sure our stay was the best it could be. Good points: Complimentary watersports (we paddle boarded and used the glass bottom boat) Wifi range and efficiency was the best I've experienced at a hotel Complimentary pressing service (of which I took full advantage!) Buggies taking us everywhere and anywhere we needed to go Complimentary press media app for daily newspapers etc Complimentary fruit and drinks on arrival and randomly during our stay Beautiful views of the sunset every evening from our suite or the beach Taking note of our favourite drinks and having them arranged for us without even asking Our room 419 was being occupied by new guests the day we were leaving, so we were unable to keep it on for our late flight but we were able to have another room, which was very helpful and gave us an opportunity to enjoy the beach all day - though I discovered our A/C hadn't been working properly in our suite the whole time we had been there when we used the A/C in the new room. There was a slightly odd smell in our shower and separate toilet -maybe a lack of ventilation. Lovely and well appointed room, great location and fantastic bathroom facilities. The only downside... we had to come home! If we can afford it again, we will be back!

Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at JW Marriott Mauritius. We stayed 5 nights in October and had the most wonderful time ever! It was our first trip to Mauritius and everything was beyond our expectation. We had a little check-in delay upon arrival but I was very impressed at how the staff at JW Marriott handled the situation. We were very tired after a long overnight flight but they made us felt very well looked after from Day 1. When you are at JW Marriott, we would like to recommend everyone to take full advantage of the water activities (SUP, snorkelling, paddle boat, kayaks) offered in the hotel and definitely hike the Le Morne. It takes around 3 hours up and down (average fitness) but there is some scrambling in the last half an hour to the top so just be mentally & physically prepared. Also, if you play tennis, please try out the court! It has a nice view of the Le Morne and we really enjoyed playing tennis here. Also, rent the bikes from the hotel (complimentary) and cycle around Le Morne. It is very beautiful. It is one of our favourite moments in Mauritius. The four restaurants in the hotel are superb. We loved everything they served us. We loved fresh seafoods and I especially liked the lamb chops at the Floating Market. Appetizers at the Japanese restaurant were delicious as well. We were on a half- board package and there were some menus we had to pay extra (such as lobster) but they don’t cost much. Mauritius is a beautiful island and there’s so much to do. We would definitely love to come back again. Martin and I got engaged in Seychelles last year and went to the Maldives for our Honeymoon but we both agreed that Mauritius has been our favourite beach holiday amongst all and I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say the main reason for this is because of our impeccable experience at JW Marriott Mauritius. A big thank you to Riad, our butler for taking care of every single detail from dinner reservations to helping us get the best Mauritian souvenirs! Riad, you are a superstar and we couldn’t have asked for a better butler. Thank you so much for your great service. Special shout out to other staff members including Jimmy (F&B manager), Rakesh (Reservations manager) Jottie at reception, Ali (Sou chef), Kolly from the bar, Smitesh from the restaurants and Jean, who helped my husband with his first sabrage! You guys made our trip so much more fun and memorable. We really enjoyed talking to the staff and how they really made us smile no matter where we were. Whenever they see us they would greet and ask “How can I help you?” Last but not least, we would like to extend our thanks to Dimitros Kotsifakos, the Resort Manager for having such a wonderful team. We always saw him walking around mornings and nights greeting every single guest. You can really feel that all of the staff members really care for your well being and happiness during your stay. Thank you once again for making our wedding anniversary such an unforgettable one. It’s been one of our best trips so far. Hope to see you again in near future!

This is a lovely hotel with a colonial, tropical vibe. The food in all the restaurants is really top quality making meals a real pleasure. We particularly rated the Floating Market restaurant. Minta, our housekeeper, was very friendly and thoughtful in making sure we had everything we needed in our room. Archi, our complimentary butler, was outstanding always knowing when to check we had everything and offering helpful advice. Our flight was at 11pm so we were kindly offered use of another room for a late check out which was much appreciated. We also really enjoyed the Le Morne hike organised through the concierge with Alan the guide - though it should be warned is a hike / scramble so needs a reasonable level of fitness.

Our stay @JW Marriott was outstanding. We had a very nice oceanfront room steps from the beach. All employees made a great job and we felt very much welcomed. We enjoyed the food especially at the Indian restaurant with the new Chef Veer, we never ever had such perfect cooked Indian food. The sommelier Jean Raymond made our dinners special with his excellent wine tips and his excellent knowledge. Many thanks to the whole team of JW Marriott for an unforgettable vacation.

5 star great amazing drinks by nope rikish. Highly recommend to all travelers. Love the service And rooms. Everything is local and is all you can ask for. Love love love.great place to stay and fun people to meet all In one. The staff is amazing and the entire resort.
