This hotel was great base to visit the island. The Le more area is beautiful. The hotel is is on the windy side of the island so for kite surfers it is perfect. Not a kite surfer myself I found either walking or in the car we rented there were several secluded beach near by. The island itself is small so you can drive around it in a day. We chose the hotel in spite of several bad review here on trip advisor. We are both very glad we did the swimming pool was a wonderful chlorine free pool cleaned daily. The rooms were well presented clean and tidy. My only real problem with the hotel was the organised events put in by marmara a French tour operator. I cannot understand why anybody would visit a island like Mauritius and spend there time around the pool doing holiday camp activities. Overall this was a great hotel that let itself down by trying to cater to much to typical swimming pool Neanderthal My recommendation sleep there and try as much local food as you can as it is great. …
We were booked for 24 Aug 2013 at the hotel, upon arrival (@ 9:00 pm) we found a dark hotel with no staff. After a struggle we were told that the hotel is closed due to renovations. Luckily the hotel next door indian resort and spa could accomodate us. Please make sure the hotel is open for business before you book!
An ideal location right in front of the beach to get to the Wave One Eye and Manawa. Great wind conditions and rooms are ideal. Lots of buffet food pretty average but again ideal if you have been out on the water all day Would stay there again
services very nice very courteous staffs nice welcome Good food Saturday night Show (Sega) plus Animation done By Staffs and DJ very good Wish you good continuation keep it up continue in same way A special Thanks to the Chief Cook Mr Barlene Lasavanne ,Mr Dev F&B Manager ,Mr Aminel, Ms Ramona in charge of Mini Club From AGATHE Family Room 2071 ,2074,2091
Stayed for 3 nights on all inclusive basis. Staff friendly and helpful. Kids taken care of, lots of activities for them. Lots of choice of food at buffet. Main issue was lack of water in the rooms. Furniture quite basic in the rooms. Everything was up and running within the room.
We visit Mauritius annually over December and I must say that this place is a joke. Le Mornea Hotel is a split budget section of the Indian resort that offers nothing in terms of Water sports activities etc... It is run by the Indian resort and your meals are carted in on trays daily and it does not even posses a functional kitchen. On new years eve I had to cart my entire family in the rain to the Indian resort for our paid for function at Le Mornea as they were not in a position to cater. On that topic there is a major water shortage problem, hot water is only available from 4pm in the afternoons on limited supply. This would be good if one had a shower that worked which in my case I had a faulty shower of which the management simply ignored every and all requests to try and resolved. As for the pics provided on there sites, there is no beach suitable for swimming at the resort unless you take a 300m trip up to the public beach! When asking the manager as to why this hotel is falsely advertised he shrugged his shoulders and sat with a mouth full of teeth. The reception is not 24hours so should you need assistance like we did as our shuttle times were moved to 3:45am there is no one to assist... Ghost town. If it were not for technology and my mobile I would have been stranded. As for the WIFI access, WIFI is supplied by a dated router with a 10m span.... pathetic for 4 star and or a hotel offering WIFI. As for TV, they are decorative as they don't work. The All inclusive on this resort is a waste as the food is simply terrible not forgetting the hygiene and as for the bar selection your very limited to watered down sodas, some advise, request sealed drinks. As for the SPA there is not one, as with everything else you have to make use of the hotel next door whereby you feel you imposing. In conclusion, the staff are good considering what they have to deal with. The Hotel, shocking ... STAY AWAY.... I need a holiday and a good shower from having visited Le Mornea…
We booked and stayed on the all-inclusive package for 7 nights. This was exactly the laid back and relaxed holiday we were looking for in Mauritius. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel not too overcrowded like some of the other more popular resorts and the food reasonable but can get a bit boring after a few days. We mostly had the place to ourselves and a few other couples and families and nearly had our own private barman (Jean Paul) who provided us with constant excellent service including carrying our drinks to the beach. The beach is windy being on the south side of the island and the hotel caters for kite surfing - great to watch but looks extremely difficult for beginners. A gentle 10 minute walk along the beach past the Indian resort and you are on a completely wind still beach with aquamarine water. Value for money this hotel is superb, our rooms were spacious and clean and service from the staff immaculate - sure you can get more luxury but that comes with a price tag.…
Fact : This Hotel is in distress. It frequently runs out of water. Its a *** hotel at best with standard food albeit a bit boring after 7 days. Many things are broken including aircons, furniture, fittings ,room access systems .Hot water is intermittant .We moved rooms 3 times till we got the right room which wed paid for but initially were not given as official policy seems to be to fill up the one side of the hotel which is in a dilapidated condition . This saves costs in the long run but leaves the paying guest worse off . What is excellent though is the staff and their service. The beach in front is the worst on the peninsular so youd have to go to the Indian (sister hotel) for that reason .This also takes out of the prevailing south easterly wind . The exact location of this hotel is on the southeastern tip of LeMourn Peninsular....another fact thats hard to find on the internet. The owner of these 3 hotels doesnt care about them and provides no budget . The place is a general fire hazard with thatch roofs urgently needing attention ...lack of water would also be an issue. The "Italian" restaurant never opens and if it did Id be nervous to eat from there . The Spa suddenly was closed on the day we asked for its service ...not sure why.Im not moaning here just stating the facts which could easily be attested to by all the other people that we saw everyday also complaining and getting the same excuses -technical difficulties ,"well sort it out" ,"we are at your service" ,"dont worry ",a shrug and then a misunderstanding frown ....I felt sorry for the staff afterwards as they cant do much about it as the owner doesnt care. In general if you come here with your babe expect to have a trying time sorting out the issues...it kinda kills the romance .Dont expect what the brochure or web page says . If you come here with your family its great value and the pool area and entertainment by Yanniq is very cool .Oh and for the Kite folk its perfect too . For the rest pay the extra US$700 and stay up the way at the DinRobin .…
We come annually to Mauritius and normally stay at the Indian Resort which was temporarily closed for renovation. We stayed at the Mornea of which was above our expectations. Many of the staff we knew from the Indian Resort so it was nice to see familiar friendly faces again. Our stay was excellent and the staff very attentive and enthusiastic to ensure they could provide the best service. The hotel is excellent value for money and the rooms are spacious, clean and our had a great view. The housekeeping staff are very nice and come in daily to clean the room and provide fresh towels. We come for kitesurfing and general water sports the location can be windy but both the Indian Resort and Mornea are set back and sheltered for the most part. The Spa at the Indian Resort is outstanding and at the Mornea the massage treatment rooms are definitely more basic but the massage truly excellent. The Mornea has a very nice rather large pool. As a family we had a very enjoyable and stay and look forward to seeing the staff again next year.…
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, especially mr. Vijay, from reception. Vijay is very forthcoming and absolutely professional. If all the staff were as competent as mr. Vijay, the hotel would get better results. As there was a meeting for north dealers during our stay the hotel was pretty full and very loud. Our room was nice, the beds a bit too soft and the pillows very uncomfortable. The cleaning staff was good.
