Upside:
Location is superb. Very close to the airport so your airport transfer will be 600 Rupees. Right on the lagoon, you enjoy the gorgeous aqua waters and associated activities - snorkelling, glass bottom boat cruise as part of your package.

The ‘half board’ rate (b’fast and dinner) are well done with really no need to pay the over priced (E25) for lunch. Food and selection is good.

Wind is a major factor, however, the pool area is sufficiently protected so you can swim or lounge around comfortably.

Day trip: Your taxi driver will likely sell you on a day trip around the island, and it is well worth it (1300 Rupees). Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Downside:
Wind seldom was below 30kph.

The coral was pathetic - essentially bleached/dead. Rather sad.

If you do go for a taxi island tour, get ready for a prescribed journey to various vendors. The drivers evidently get ‘credits’ for which they are rewarded at the end of the year. Ours was honest enough to let us know. You don’t have to buy anything, rather various stops at unwanted destinations.

All in all, the hotel package was good.

Amazing location, beautiful beaches and incredibly helpful staff. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which also included 2 for 1 on evening meals at the hotel. Each night they put on a themed buffet and we ate on Italian night. There was a wide variety of food, including pasta, pizzas and salads. All of which were delicious! The room was spacious and clean with lots of character, and a lovely view of the pool/garden and the ocean! Special shout out to Even and the bar staff, who were always warm and welcoming!

This is not the 5 star Marriott or Ritz but it is a really good hotel right on the sand. The staff were all fantastic and the buffet breakfast has cook to order omelettes. Room basic but Ac worked great and it was clean. Bed very comfortable. Eat overlooking the ocean and walk out onto the sand, into the water and swim with plenty of fish. All water sports included and they have paddle boards, peddle boats, snorkeling, kayaks and some other things that I cannot remember. If you want to be in the middle of the city then go to Port Louis and stay in a hotel there but if you want to be on the beach, with no noise at night and the only lights being the stars in the sky then stay in Blue Bay, that is a personal choice. There are only a few restaurants that you can walk to from here or eat in the hotel but there are always taxis out front and a mall 7 minutes away by car.

I booked this hotel as a solo traveller what a gem and what a location. There is some noise from low flying planes as the hotel is quite near to the airport the benefit of this is transfers are very quck. I have no complaints about this hotel or the staff it was a fabulous place to stay as a solo traveller. If you want a hotel with lots of activites and huge choices this may not be for you. There is entertainment and choices with meals but not as much as you would find at some resorts. I always found something that i enjoyed and the curry nights were amazing. I will come back her again and all of the staff were so happy and always smiling and finding time to have a chat. The beach by the hotel has some rocky areas but sandy beaches are only a short walk from the hotel. I caught the bus to the town a few time which cost 24 rupees about 60p and would walk back along the lovely beaches. Found some lovley local people too. I can not express my thanks to this hotel enough on here thanks for an amazing 11 nights I look forward to meeting you all again, Dont change anything a perfect holiday in a perfect location thank you

My partner and I stayed at this little heaven in November last year and it was simply amazing and glorious. Brought to the hotel by a taxi driver who mistook Blue Lagoon for Lagoona beach resort, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We had the pleasure to sample great meals, great daily entertainment, breathtaking views of the blue ocean and great ambiance. Staff were friendly and attentive to details. The manager was able to give us a discount considering that we had already made a commitment elsewhere but somehow landed at his little heaven. The resort is located 10 minutes away from the airport making it very convenient.

We were 8 in total last Friday 29.07.2022 til Sunday 31st July.At first we got a warm and nice welcome. Everything seems quite ok at the first sight. The Barman were nice, only one of them was kind of impolite.

For diner time on Friday, the buffet was good.

The next day for the lunch time we had the same chicken cooked in different way(sauce) and on Sunday too.

We asked the chef whether the chicken was freshed he do confirm that it was the same chicken as the day before.( there was a bad smell also).

We propose that the animators follow course to be more customer focus.

Even the music was not that good because of the DJ who played only bad music where everybody went to their room so that he could leave earlier.

There was spiders in the rooms.

A cat which is always presence under the table during lunch time and dinner.

There was not hot water for the shower.

The lightning was not strong enough there was a barely light while we were eating.

However there is a positive point: the bed were very comfortable and we had a lot of fun. The cocktails were good.

Hope this will help you to improve your next guests.

We booked this hotel as a technical stop before leaving the island of Mauritius since it is only a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the hotel to the airport. And in general, we didn’t expect anything special from our stay here. Moreover, we were traveling to them in very heavy rain, when the whole of Mauritius was waiting for a new cyclone Candice.
BUT when we saw the picturesque facade of the hotel with the warm light emanating from inside, framed by the columns of the main entrance, our melancholy immediately evaporated. And within a couple of minutes we were in a cozy foyer, smoothly passing into the restaurant hall with tables under white tablecloths.
Our Privilege room was on the second floor and the journey there took place along a very beautiful, simply cinematic white staircase with curved wooden railings. The room turned out to be two-level and with a large balcony overlooking a huge pool and the ocean. On the upper level there was a bathroom with a bathtub and a hallway with a wardrobe, and on the lower level there was a bedroom. For a hotel that is positioned as 3 stars, this is simply a gorgeous room.
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are served as a buffet. The theme of the dinners changes every day. We were able to taste Mediterranean and Creole cuisine. All this was very tasty and was accompanied by the sounds of a saxophone and Latin-style vocals. In the evenings, for some reason, it seemed to us that we were somewhere in Argentina in the 30s and 40s of the last century, although in fact most of the guests were clearly French.
Now about the beach. Gentlemen, I can responsibly declare that Blue Bay beach is probably the most beautiful among all the beaches of Mauritius. It is endless, incredibly picturesque and diverse. And here is practically the only place where we, while snorkeling, saw a wide variety of colored fish.
I can confidently recommend this hotel not only as a place from and to which it is convenient to arrive after a long flight, but also as a hotel for a long holiday in Mauritius.

Le Peninsula Bay Resort is located on the more quiet part of the island 15 min away from the airport.
We took the all inclusive package and made use of every single thing that was included.
Located right next door to Blue Bay Marine Park this is the perfect location get away from the business of life and just relax.
Snorkelling at Blue bay is included, they take you out on a glass bottom boat and the Captain, with his great sense of humour, makes it fun for everyone.
If you don't feel like going out on the boat the snorkelling right off the beach is also very enjoyable. Other activities include, kayaking, paddle boarding and a few others. The snorkelling was definitely a highlight! They also provide all equipment needed.

The Bar and restaurant staff went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. The food was mostly Buffet or Set menu and after a day out and about it really hit the spot. Flavourful and tasty!
The Bar staff made the yummy cocktails and there were no issues about drinking in the pool or taking drinks and food down to the beach. Their main priority was that the guests must enjoy themselves, relax and have a wonderful time.

The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Not much privacy in the bathroom, but nothing you cant work around. Housekeeping staff were friendly, helpful and always willing to work around our daily schedule.

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Mauritius. Perfect location and wonderful staff!

I spent 8 days at Peninsula Bay at the end of October 2023.
This hotel is the best value for money you can find: located in the heart of the lagoon, it is ideal for snorkeling (probably the most beautiful and accessible spot in Mauritius, excluding the Northern Islands), with magnificent spots directly on the beach. of the hotel. If you prefer more "relaxing" beaches, you only have to walk 1 minute to find yourself on the lagoon beach which is wide and turquoise.
My room was very clean and very pretty (some people complain about the bathroom, in fact it is separated from the bedroom by large windows, it can be annoying if you are modest but it remains "airtight" and still practical) . A big positive point: THE BUFFET! It was varied with Thai/Chinese, Indian, Mauritian and Italian cuisines. I enjoyed myself every evening. The breakfast does not vary but it is very good and you can enjoy it with a view of the sea every morning.
The hotel offers plenty of free activities including puddle, kayaking... and in particular 2 free boat trips per day on the lagoon, which is quite exceptional considering the price you would pay outside the hotel. In terms of paid activities, I was able to test their spa including their massages which I would recommend. In addition, I did my first dive with them for the price of 95 euros which may seem expensive but you will see that the prices in Mauritius are very high and given the places where they take us, I would still recommend it.
Finally, I would like to highlight the kindness and professionalism of the entire hotel team, from the cleaning and kitchen team to the entertainment team who are always smiling and welcoming. (You will see that it is a Mauritian cultural phenomenon...) The arrival/departure management of the hotel is also remarkable since they provide a room in the hotel spa which is reserved for customers who arrive before the availability of their room or leave after having returned it. We can therefore shower and go to the toilet in peace, which is not something we should refuse after a long flight.
To conclude, it is true that the hotel is close to the airport so you can hear the planes when you are on the beach, but honestly it did not bother me at all because it barely lasts 30 seconds and they do not rarely pass. I will obviously return to this hotel with my eyes closed.
(Bonus: magnificent sunsets observable from the hotel)

We really enjoyed our two weeks, we knew this was a relatively small hotel and we were not expecting that luxury large resort feel, if you are after this then you may wish to spend quite alot more money to visit those type of resorts.
The location was for us great, next to blue bay fantastic snorkelling and the hotel offer one free boat trip into blue bay, but the shore by the hotel also is a great spot for snorkelling.
The food for us was great, always a good variety in the evening a real attempt was made to offer something different over our whole stay. The food was very tasty, but this was not your usual buffet that you may find in Turkey, we only saw chips once at lunch the whole two weeks and not a nugget or burger in sight , for us this was great but if you maybe a bit fussy with food don’t like fish, spice sauces etc or are vegetarian or vegan you may struggle.
The drink quality was ok, always offer still or sparkling water lunch and diner.
The time for the evening meal was from 7.30 for us not an issue but some may find this a bit late, but as small amount of guests I understand why it makes more sense for most people to eat at similar time.
Staff all across hotel were great, friendly and attentive.
Entertainment seemed to be arranged by a French tour operator and at times felt exclusive for their guests only but other times did get everyone evolved. Hotel did also organise some, really nice pre diner get together with homemade rum and Mauritian nibbles, got the guests chatting to each other which was lovely, followed by Mauritian dancers and band after diner.
Our room was a standard room and for a two week stay did feel a tad small, but lovely comfy bed, good air con and very clean.
Pool could do with a drain and re paint, and there was a hot tub outside that was not working, it did seem the hotel was undergoing improvements whilst we were there with new TV/ Telephone lines being installed and general maintenance being carried out, but overall everything was good.
We hired a car for 4 days and had a great drive around Mauritius and visited some beaches next to these large more luxury resorts and we did ask ourselves if these hotels are worth the extra money, that is all a personal choice, but you can not compare this hotel to those they both offer something different, but ultimately you will all swim in the same wonderful blue sea.
We would go back if the price remained competitive to those other luxury resorts.
There have been some negative reviews and I do not know what people have paid but at the end of the day if you are not paying 5 star price you are not going to get 5 star luxury.
