Wonderful quiet hotel. We rested for 10 days in late September. The weather is great - in the daytime 26 degrees, in the evenings you can even put on a hoodie or palantine and enjoy your vacation. The ocean is warm, the beach is great, sandy, clean. Swimming in the pools was wonderful for the child, because he was shallow and the child learned to swim. There are also great lunches in the form of delicious pizza, burgers, fries, as well as huge salads and so on. It's delicious. Special thanks to the staff, especially the pool waiters, Nathanael in particular (the name may have been distorted, sorry). Always friendly, sympathetic, sitting still for a minute. And cocktails and coconut water in coconut and whatever you want. The receptionists are always smiling and knowledgeable. Several languages are spoken - English, French and local languages, there is a Russian-speaking manager (if anyone cares). The employees of the main restaurant Horizon (breakfast and dinner) - both chefs and waiters - all know their business, everything clearly and on time. Always with smiles and tune into great service. We also thank the staff of the Sea Restaurant. Fire. Salt”. The delicious and refined atmosphere of the restaurant. Charming waiters (unfortunately, you can't remember all the names). An impossible head waiter or manager who set fire to and brought dessert! The rooms are very spacious and cozy. We have everything we need. Iron, board, hairdryer - great, not as usual worthless, but powerful! The only recommendation is to pay attention to cleaning rooms, or rather cleaning floors. Other than that, it's very good. Minibar - wine (white, red, rosé), beer, juices, cola and other things - even every day. Wonderful place!

Room 6101. The stay was awful! The staff at reception were unfriendly and I would say discriminatory. We arrived at the hotel at 7:30am on Monday 24th June 2024. We were not greeted by any staff, apart from the miserable man at reception who told us the room would be ready shortly, he took our passports and told us to please go and have breakfast. No smile, no warmth, just misery. We were not greeted with a cold drink and chopped, seasonal fruits like the non-Indian guests were served with. Instead, we got unfriendliness and bitchiness. We finished what I would call an average breakfast (the staff in the kitchen are lovely) and proceeded to reception to go and check the progress of our room and noticed that our passports were left on the desk unattended. Just open for people to have a perusal. We were then greeted by An even more miserable woman called deepa I think or Priya looked like she was waiting for death to approach her with how miserable and annoyed she looked. She told us to wait a few mins and our room will be ready. We waited 3.5hrs and she had allowed another family (non-Indian) to get their room. We waited another hour and I decided to go and check on the progress. I was told by another reception staff called ocean that our room was already ready and has been for some time. So, instead of informing me, I had to personally go and see if I could get 1 out of 164 rooms! We finally checked into our room after a 12hr flight, exhausted and eager for a shower. We were horrified to find how filthy the sink was and the toilet with brown poo stains in the flush (yuck). We told the miserable woman about this and she said she can send someone. I told her not to worry this evening and instead, to send someone tomorrow as we will be going to bed. At about 8:30pm, a small sized house keeping lady barged into our room after knocking only once. She realised we were sleeping and said “oh sorry” and left. This was so unprofessional especially since the hotel is so rubbish they don’t even offer a turndown service. After this, we had to keep on requesting essentials such as coffee cups as these were just rinsed in the bathroom sink btw and not sterilised and washed between guests! The room would only be cleaned if we called reception to ask for the service, whereas at normal 5* resorts, this is a standard service and is done when guests are usually out for breakfast. In the week, someone came to clean our room at 4pm! When we had requested this after breakfast. I would class this hotel as a 2* with the cleanliness, service and lack of hospitality and staff attitudes.

Location is not great: this place is close to the airport - you'll hear planes landing 10 times a day. Also the hotel seems to have its own micro climate where it rains all the time when it is sunny on the rest of the island. The Cambuse beach is beautiful but too windy to be practical, and a long distance to walk from the hotel. There is nothing around the hotel. To go to the Pointe d'Esny beach or Blue bay beach, you'll need to drive all around the airport, so at 20min drive minimum.
Food: nothing around the hotel. Only option is to drive min 20min or to eat at the resort 20 EUR for a burger. 50 EUR for buffet dinner. If you have children you have no choice but to eat at the buffet. Expensive for average food. The Breakfast staff however is great, lovely ladies remembering children's birthday, the egg cooking lady remembers your order from one day to the next.
Cleanliness: Rooms are dirty, house cleaning is way too superficial. Once we came back to our room at 2pm, our room still hadn't been cleaned. We found a kids shoe under our desk at arrival. A cigarette butt on our terrace table which stayed there during our all stay as well! Dirty beach towels are everywhere at the end of the day. It looks a bit like a run-down camping.
Staff: they are so many staff members but still things are run unefficiently and everything take ages (check in, getting your luggage, getting a simple meal at the bar). The parking is far from the lobby, they have "voiturette" to take you there but half the time there is no one to greet you so you have to walk with your bags. If by luck there is a ray of sunlight, and you ask to open a parasol they will say no there is too much wind, so your kids are left to burn! The life guard watches his phone instead of the kids in the pool.
They ask for your feedback often but if you ask for an improvement you are ignored / left to wait for so long that you give up.
=> We put two stars for the nice breakfast staff. But we would not stay there again. It is not the quality expected of Anantara resorts

To put simply everything could be better as it is a 3 star hotel pretending to be a 5 star hotel and I cannot believe it is an Anantara hotel. Giving it a 3 seems generous too. The Reception and housekeeping let the hotel down majorly and the F&B staff lacked a lot as well. The reception staff acted like they were doing you a favor and housekeeping did a terrible job. They didn't even do a hotel tour when we arrived and did not explain anything to us at all. The food although good was a bit of a let down as it was a bit repetitive. Sea, Fire and Salt was a big disappointment as the food was average and a simple instruction such as please take the the shells off the prawns was ignored and when taken back the chef just pulled them out slightly and left the rest in the shell so basically ignored the ask. However Zafran' food was very delicious and Venita and Kunal were amazing. The people in Horizon who made it a good experience are Shyama and Elodie, they were also amazing but the other staff were lacking. In the Spa special mentions to Krishi, Roshan and Nalini who were excellent. In terms of the rooms they were not cleaned properly, there were no bathrobes and they did a terrible job of cleaning rooms daily. We had to actually ask to get them cleaned and 6202 is infested with ants. A dirty rag was left on my clean clothes in my suitcase that was open. Furthermore, my sister who's 40th we came to celebrate had a fall due to an uneven surface, and a staff member who saw what happened just walked by instead of helping. The wonderful staff at the Spa helped her and cleaned a pretty bad wounded knee and iced her ankle. Vidya from the kids club was excellent too and was great! Not only that, the people who arrived a day earlier had to move room and we were treated so badly by reception that the packing to move was rushed and a few items were forgotten in the room and despite us informing housekeeping the items were not recovered. The air-conditioning did not work well in the rooms either. I came away thinking I wasted a lot of money on an experience that was supposed be amazing and a memorable occasion as I counted on having Anantara standards. I massively overpaid for sub standard service that really took away from enjoyment. When issues were raised apologies were made but then the next day the same issue was repeated, nothing changed or even worse new issues cropped up. How is this an Anantara hotel?

We went there to celebrate my birthday on a one night stay in half board with 2 rooms booked, one garden view and one upgraded to ocean view. The hotel itself is really beautiful with the sea view. The food was delicious. Nilanka, Rekha and Magen from F&B took great care of us. Vidja, Queenay and Kristabelle from kids club did an amazing job with my 5 years old son.
Upon arrival we waited for some time at the reception before anyone bothers to take care of us. Our luggage also arrived at least 30 minutes after we entered our rooms. Housekeeping needs to be taken care of. I found a long black hair on my bed sheet cover upon arrival and a used hair band hanging on the shower door. In the 2nd room there was no shower gel, only shampoo. These details make a difference when Anantara Iko claims itself to be a 5 star hotel. It just does not match with 5 star etiquette.
I would have enjoyed my stay much more if housekeeping was done as expected.

The resort was a pleasant stay and delivered on the 5 star rating. The resort grounds and facilities are very well manicured, the architecture is beautiful and the facilities are of a very high standard.
The rooms are modern, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. They provided 6 coffee capsules which is a lot more than some other 5 star resorts. The bathroom area is very well designed with a walk in closet and counter for luggage and shoes and the lighting ambience is relaxing. We enjoyed our time in the room. We had a sea view room with a furnished balcony.
The service throughout the resort was very friendly and efficient. The food at the buffet was very good, both breakfast and dinner, and the lunchtime pizzas at the poolside bar was also really good. They even prepared a complimentary cake for my wife's birthday at dinner.
My only problem was with check out. We check-out of the room about 1.5hrs before check-out time (12:00), and there wasn't a porter to collect our luggage despite calling them twice. We had to carry our luggage out by ourselves and get the car to load it. This annoyed me and I reported such to the reception desk.
As for the beach, if you are looking for a calm, shallow island style beach, I'm afraid this one is a bit of a rough wavy one. It may influence your choice depending on what you expect from your resort beach.

This hotel is definitely not a five-star hotel, and there are plenty of open-air spaces in the lobby to the room or restaurant, whether it's sunny or rainy. The quality of the food and service in the restaurant is also common, and a branch of water also costs several yuan. We also used the wrong non-slip bricks next to the restaurant and pool - but the wet water is dangerous, so the companions fell together. The cleanliness is not perfect, the bathroom has no garbage cans, and the previous guests used the refrigerator as a garbage box, but the staff did not clean, nor did they re-add coffee powder and personal care supplies. Fortunately I only stayed for three days, not too disappointed. Overall, there are many better options in Mauritius for this price.

Overall property is too good. There was lot of communication gap between the management. On second day i ask for housekeeping when I was leave for south tour when I came back around 6pm i confirmed at reception wheather it's housekeeping is done or not they said it's already done but when I entered the room I saw the room was in the same situation I left in the mrg I have also clicked some photos. At the time of check in i saw bodywash was not available in the room I asked at hotel service for the 2 times & 2 times at reception for the same but still no one rected on that. Then they refilled on second day evening at the time of house keeping. On fourth day i ordered some dish in main course but the meal which I ordered was not prepared then they changed for 3 times still they were not getting connected what I have ordered. Thanks to chef pradeep he personally came on the table and got what I was welling for on the fifth day i had the best meal served by chef Pradeep I'm very Greatful for Him.
