Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius is nestled in a tranquil and scenic location applauded for its proximity to serene beaches. While the spacious rooms with stunning views are often appreciated, some guests have pointed out cleanliness could be enhanced. The hotel's amenities, including an array of leisure activities and dining options, receive high marks, as does the service, noted for its friendly and professional staff. However, the value proposition has been questioned due to extra costs and the atmosphere could benefit from more vibrant evening entertainment.

My partner and I visited Maritim for 2 weeks and it was paradise from the beginning.

We stayed in a junior suite, if you can afford to upgrade then I would very much recommend it. The suite is very spacious and the bed is huge! It is one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. My partner is a bad sleeper and even he slept in!
The room has a large shower with a beautiful bath and complimentary shower gel, shampoo etc There is a walk-in-wardrobe available with plenty of space for additional luggage too. The air con is a life saver and we were pleasantly greeted with a lovely cool room whenever we returned to it. The fridge is stocked daily and offers you Coca Cola, sprite and juices which are free of charge. There are lagers available at an additional cost.
With junior suites, comes its own private pool for the occupants. We’d like to give a special shout out to Brenda at the pool bar. Thank you so much for looking after us and being your fabulous self during our stay :-) The pool isn’t deep but it’s enough for you to have a swim etc there are plenty of sun loungers available - none of this ‘I need to get up at 5am to reserve a lounger’

There are 4 main restaurants in the resort: Asian, buffet, BBQ and Mediterranean. All of which are excellent quality. I usually hate buffets but this is cooked fresh and very tasty with plenty of choice. The buffet food is stored securely away from pesky flies so you’re safe eating it :-) No complaints from us. There are plenty of bars too, our favourite is the one on the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset.

The location is absolutely spot on.. right on a sandy beach. The hotel also offers free water activities such as glass bottom boats, peddle boarding, Peddlo, snorkelling and much more… again, all free! Just nip down to the boat house and book on.

The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. If you want something, they will do their absolute best to get it for you. They are so helpful and really go above and beyond for you.

My only gripe is that ‘all inclusive’ isn’t actually all inclusive. All inclusive to me means that everything is included in your overall price but this is not the case here as there are certain things that you still have to pay for. With the price you pay to stay here, I would have thought that everything was included. It didn’t really cause too much disappointment for us as there is still plenty of choice but I think it’s definitely something that should be reviewed by management.

Ignore Ray’s review, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. This place is lovely and I would definitely return.

We had an excellent stay from 24/06 to 28/06 at Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius in Balaclava, I would first like to say a big THANK YOU to Chef Vishnu for his welcome and his excellent jump mine, thanks also to Mr Bakory at the bar who brought us excellent cocktails and very good service, a big thank you to Chef Samir who showed us around the restaurant Anno, not to mention Chef Navin and his warm welcome. Congratulations to Pastry Chef Ansel who made an almond pie and a nut pie that were succulent! Thank you very much to the breakfast manager Vimla, thank you to the manager Kavita and a special thought to Mr Chantrini the Buggy driver. The activities offered were very good we enjoyed well with family.

However we had some inconveniences especially at the reception which was often unpleasant, hanging up on us or giving us bad information when we arrived. We had asked for a room on the ground floor and close to the reception we had quite the opposite which was a room on the first floor and at the very end of the hotel and when we called the reception to have a buggy to get us to activities and so on, they were almost never available. Arriving in our room, there was no toothpaste and toothbrush that are essential during a stay and when we ask for them they offered us to buy them at an exorbitant price. There were often problems with unresolved air conditioning, there was also no wastebasket in the bathroom. The bedroom sofa was stained. The children wanted to enjoy the pool but unfortunately it was not heated which is very disappointing as we were not able to enjoy it at this time. One last remark that concerns television and more specifically the TF1 channel, we were in the Euro 2024 period, if we wanted to see a match it was absolutely necessary to go to a restaurant of the hotel outdoors to see it and it was not possible to watch it in our room because the hotel cut the broadcast of the channel.

We stayed at this Pension for about ten days.
Airport Pension trip about 1h drive, Check in quite fast.

Very large room with nice bathtub, however this bathtub takes a very long time to fill for a bath, but it is very nice.
We have all the hygiene products available (body creams, shampoo, shower gel, swimming cap etc...). There is a mini bar with coca water juice and sprite available. Great comfortable bed and we had a great view.
I think it’s a shame that there are no garbage cans in the bathroom or toilet

I did not swim in the pools they are cold, too bad that in an area of 25 hectares there is no indoor or heated pool, it is true that I do not understand the idea ...

The main restaurant is fine the food is tasty, the ice cream is top and the sweet pies hmmm
The catch is the my God cats they are everywhere, they go under the table, next to you, personally I have the phobia, I let you imagine the meals.

The burgers in the main bar are very good but 20 to 30 minutes waiting. At the restaurant the tide is faster, the waiter Nis is very friendly.
We tested the tide restaurant in the evening, not bad, but the cat was there so I didn’t appreciate the moment and it’s the same for Filao restaurant.

Boat ride glass background nice but we didn’t have good weather
I couldn’t do the snorkeling because I’m not a good swimmer and there was a bcp of wind, too bad the staff didn’t accompany us in the water.

The nautical base offers excursions at very decent rates, Mika is a super nice young.

Team Kappa
Ivano super friendly and cultured, a very nice meeting as well as the rest of the team, Valerie with her eternal smile, she is always ready to answer questions, AD and her constant good mood and sweet Mégane.
Thank you for Things to do.

Meals at home
Magic, Desire and their family are very welcoming.

The Inn staff is very good, always available to help or inform us.

The stable
I loved this time with the Jungle horse, and Dipa is a great instructor, Trip Tip bcp, Patience bcp it was a real pleasure.
You have to book and pay at the Towel Cabin or at the reception as the stable does not collect money. Besides, they lend board games to the Cabin.

The spa is beautiful and they are doing super interesting promotions.

I recommend the Inn for those who like peace and quiet, if you are looking for an Inn with animation, music during the day this is not the right Inn.

We stayed at Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius from January 11 to 21 in Junior Suite, and it was an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink, smiles and great kindness from the staff. The explanations on the operation of the hotel, the 7 restaurants and the many leisure activities were clear and complete.

The staff is very caring and always available. Whether in the various restaurants, on the beach or by the pool, the service is impeccable. The rooms are immaculately maintained, with daily cleaning and towels changed every day.

We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to travel by electric cart through the hotel park to see giant turtles or horses, a really unique touch.

The setting is beautiful, from the entrance gate to the private white sand beach lined with coconut trees. A magical moment was to have dinner in the evening at the restaurant La Marée, feet in the sand, with the sound of waves in the background.

A perfect stay, a total change of scenery that allows you to forget the daily life. We recommend this hotel without hesitation and already plan to return in September to find this caring team and enjoy this little piece of paradise again.

This was our third stay at the Maritim Resort & Spa in Balaclava.
We once again greatly enjoyed the 11 nights we spent in All Inclusive in March 2024
When we arrived, we were perfectly welcomed by Kavila and his team. We immediately felt at home.
After having breakfast, we were accompanied to our room on the ground floor near the Marée restaurant. The room which overlooks the beach is large, the bedding is of good quality.
We take the majority of our meals at La Marée, it is the Resort's "feet in the sand and water" restaurant. The assistant managers Mithun, Devond, the service managers, Ishwaree, Rakesh, Fabrice, and other servers that we have known for several years are very professional while showing great kindness, they are excellent ambassadors of Maritim Balaclava.
Kumar, the head of the catering at Maritim, and Chef Boojahwon are at our service to offer us good tastings and make us have a good time.
At Banyan, Paolo always gives us a warm welcome, he often has a little joke to tell us, or a kind word for the customers.
We really like Sunday brunch at Château de Mondesir. Govin is very welcoming, the pianist has an excellent repertoire. It's always an excellent moment of gastronomy, in a high-class place.
At the beach suites, Jay, a veteran of the Maritim, takes great care of his customers. His availability is matched only by his kindness.
The 25 hectare Maritim Park is one of the most beautiful gardens in Mauritius, the banyan trees are majestic. The natural sand beach is splendid. During our stay, the Citron River and its alluvium did not disturb the lagoon this year. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water of the lagoon, and didn't even take advantage of the hotel pools.
How could Maritim improve in the future?
We would like the evenings to be more lively, with a systematic presence of orchestras, singers, or shows. There are good musicians in Mauritius.
We love Turtle Bay, the Maritim Hotel, and its long-time employees so much that we invested in The Welnest residence which adjoins the hotel's 9-hole golf course. So we will spend several months a year in our Mauritian paradise, while enjoying the many services of the Maritim Balaclava, and the extreme kindness of the staff!
We can't wait to take possession of our future Mauritian residence.
We hope you have a great time at the Maritim!

We spent 2 weeks at the Kappa maritim resort last December

We enjoyed the hotel and its environment.

As far as catering is concerned, the main buffet is not bad but very repetitive , little choice , little fruit.

On the other hand the restaurants "Latide" and "Filaos" are excellent and a special mention for the waitresses and waiters of these restaurants, great kindness on their part and high quality of products.
.
It's just a shame that these 2 restaurants (we didn't want to test the other 2 restaurants) are only bookable in the evening once/week and it seems so that everyone can enjoy..... We were almost the only ones one evening in Filaos and a lot of room also at the Tide.

We had some very nice lunches at the Tide but of course it did not have the same charm as in the evening and there was also no queue there was all the time of the place so, it seems, from what we heard that there was queue at lunch last year..

In addition when we booked this trip, I asked about the frequency of à la carte restaurants and we were never told that it was only once a week and also from what we heard last year there were no such restrictions...

Concerning the maintenance of the rooms special mention also to Rosette, "a real fairy of the house" not to mention his kindness and benevolence when it came to "hunting" has a cockroach!

Let's move on to the animation, the big black spot of this hotel.

We already knew other kappa where the animation is totally different from the El Dorador we know, namely lighter, but there it was almost non-existent, 2 people during our stay, Valerie and Junior , the first having been ill a good part of the time and replaced by a young woman part-time, according to her, one or 2 days and another the day before our departure!
Junior trying to manage as well as possible but little invested and animator at the hotel as for a month at the time.

So apart from the homestay outing in the evening and the two other kappa outings on offer, a few rare daytime activities, sometimes postponed or cancelled at the last moment, we were bored in the evening,
Fortunately the hotel offered groups (guitarists, singers, dances) some evenings , a dj once but "the entertainment team" was very little present at 9:30 p.m. plus nobody, no sleepless evening, no aperitif games, (the aperitif was moreover at 5 p.m.) while everyone was still at the beach! no casino night.... as in all the kappa...
it seems that the hotel is not too much in favor of kappa entertainment but at this time you should not sell the hotel in kappa club..

It would be useful to review all kappa management and that real animation professionals are recruited.

Otherwise this resort remains magnificent with a staff at the height of 5 stars.

We have just returned from the Maritim Spa Hotel, and it was fantastic. From the minute we got there to the minute we left we were looked after.

I would like to thank so many members of staff at this hotel for making our stay very special and memorable.

Kishen, Kavita and Devan – thank you for constantly checking if we were ok and needed anything and always smiling.

Asfar & Ramful – to these two fantastic chefs and the whole team, we were blown away with the quality and variety of food that was on offer.

Belle Vue - I would especially like to thank Avinash, Diya, Lydia, Alida, Shivani and Ashi for looking after us as every meal, they continually checked to see if we were ok and if we needed anything and it was always done with a smile. They made us feel very welcome in the Belle Vue restaurant every day.

Les Filaos Beach BBQ – the chefs were amazing, and the food was outstanding, thank you.

Room – a very spacious and quiet room, cleaned daily to a very high standard.

Other hotels should learn from this one on how to look after customers, make them feel welcome, safe and at home.

Our stay at the Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the warm, friendly staff who made every effort to make us feel at home. We had reserved a baby cot and on arrival it was perfectly made up in the room and there was also provided a diaper bucket and bottle warmer! Super arranged. The genuine hospitality and smiles of the staff really made a difference and allowed us to relax immediately.

The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful. The well-kept gardens, beautiful beaches and impressive grounds make a stroll through the resort a delight in itself.

In terms of activities, Maritim Resort & Spa offers so many possibilities that we have never been bored. Whether diving at the on-site diving school, relaxing spa treatment, horseback riding on the beach, a tour of the ruins, golf, tennis or just relaxing by the beautiful pools, there was something for everyone.

The resort also offers delicious culinary experiences in their various restaurants, in beautiful historic buildings or on the beach. Perfect locations for any occasion, whether you're grabbing a quick bite from the buffet, eating fresh lobster while watching the sun set in the sea, or enjoying a luxurious dinner or very sumptuous brunch at Château Mon Désir.

In short, a perfect combination of luxury, nature and top service. We cannot wait to return to this piece of paradise. Definitely recommended!

My family and I spent 3 wonderful nights at Maritim Balaclava in their junior suits. The room, bathroom and toilet were spacious, so it was quite easy to move around, specially when you have a kid on wheelchair.
Meetun at the main restaurant and Atish at front Office were very proactive by helping us to move my son and his wheelchair pass through the stairs.
The hotel can boast to have such an iconic location, les ruines de Balaclava and its huge 25 hectares property with tropical plants like mangoes, tamarin...
The kids enjoyed the land (horses, mini golf) and sea activities.
Hats off to the management team and staff.
We surely will be back for our next holidays.

We have just got back today from an amazing honeymoon spent here, we were both very sad to leave and wish we had booked 14 nights instead of 10.
Upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite with other extras like a candlelit Dinner on the beach.
Every member of staff was friendly and happy to help with any questions you had, couldn’t fault any of these at all.
The food was all amazing with plenty of choices in the buffet restaurant for lunch and dinner the only thing we would fault is the birds that liked to join you especially when a plate had food left on it.
The room was spotless with a very large bed, large shower area and also a walk in wardrobe, we were in room 555 with a lovely view out of the patio doors to the pool in the new block. There was never an issue getting a bed at the pool as very often empty at 10am.
The beach is where we spent most of our days as this was paradise, white sands and clear water with waiters ready to look after you with drinks.
Can’t fault anything at all about this hotel and the amazing staff that make your stay at Maritim.
Would also recommend tours of the island we did a south and a north tour which was lovely.
We have already said we would 100% want to come back to Mauritius and would come back to this hotel without a doubt.
Thank you Maritim for making our honeymoon so special and forgettable.
