We returned to get married at Maritim resort and Spa after visiting 8 years ago. The Hotel has been recently renovated and now even more lovely than we remembered. It’s such a beautiful Resort we were a family with older parents, and teenage children and there is plenty to suit all ages. The staff here are fantastic, would like to give a special thank you to The manager of La Maree Mithun who has worked here for 22 years such a lovely man even remembered us from 8 years ago. Faarhan who worked at the pool bar for his friendly manner. Danette at the Belle Vue restaurant. The lovely staff at Anno and Chateux All the staff at the Spa the manager, Sunita and Joyce who made my wedding day so special. Cherina on the front desk was very helpful. Kishen the porter also great. A huge heartfelt thank you to the wedding coordinator Madvi who was excellent at her job and ensured everything went smoothly for our big day. The Hotel photographer was fabulous we were so pleased with our photographs and wedding video. To get married here was easy with the legalities all arranged for us with English speaking officials. All hassle free, highly recommend this as a wedding venue it’s simply stunning. So many great photo opportunities from the beach, the waterfalls, the magnificent Bougainville trees to the château and the Banyan trees. The Spa has its own bridal rooms to get ready, a bonus. The food at all the restaurants is good but the food at Anno and the Château is exceptional worth paying extra for it was so delicious. We had a private room at the château for our wedding breakfast (unfortunately we were not able to do it on the actual, wedding day as it wasn’t open on Monday (our wedding day) but well worth waiting for. We also had candlelit dinner on the beach at La Maree with our own waiter excellent service. The waiter at Lamaze Kreol worked so hard too what a superstar! We enjoyed the beach BBQ Les Filaos too. I would recommend booking in advance for all the restaurants as soon as you can as they get booked up. The bedrooms are spacious with a walk in wardrobe, massive bed, and great shower. All rooms seem to have lovely sea views, we had our own decked area as we were on the ground floor. The grounds are kept neat and tidy, the whole complex is gorgeous comfortable chairs, we were so well looked after. Water sports was fun, easy to arrange to take out a boat, kayak or pedalo. Crazy golf and tennis was good too. The animal farm, horses & giant tortoises was worth a visit, we loved the tour on the golf buggy! For us the Tropical Spa was just paradise, it’s truly fabulous so relaxing with fantastic facilities loved our treatments so much. We really had the best time and can’t wait to return. The weather was good for us around 26 degrees each day. (we visited on 17th Aug for 12 nights) it got cooler in the evening so you needed a jacket or cardigan. Huge thank you once again to everyone who made our wedding day celebrations so special and to the wonderful staff who ensured we had a holiday and honeymoon to treasure! Helen and Martin Spearman

I can't process how a big of a hotel chain can be this bad. 1. They had just mopped the floor with a dirty mop as they floor was clearly wet when we got in the room and they were hair all over the place. 2. They never had a table for us for tea, dinner, breakfast and lunch. They had us stand during tea time as they had no chairs. What hotel does not have chairs? We had to wait 10 mins on the stairs to have a table for breakfast. They clearly seated other people instead of us at least 3 times. 3. My booking mentionned activities included in my reservation but they asked for Rs 400 for table tennis; which was covered in my booking. 4. The babyfoot table and the pool table were in terrible conditions. 5. Most of their staff were so rude. We had to chase waiters to be able to order drinks. 6. I had bugs on my mint leaves in my mojito. Disgusting !! 7. No hot/warm water in the shower in the morning. 8. Wasps nest on the balcony. 9. Raw saussages served at the buffet for breakfast. 10. Hair in the food-pizza. It was clearly there before baking as part of it was in the melted cheese. 11. The board games are either damaged or missing parts. We borrowed 2 decks of cards and both had missing cards. 12. Incompetant staff at the bar and restaurant. I was served cocktails with 1tablespoon granulated sugar at the bottom of my glass. They lack organisation at the restaurant, it seems like they can't figure out how to do their job. Definitely do not recommend. Horrible experience.

We booked a weekend get away with the family but we ended spending the time trying to get a waiter attention or waiting hours before being served. Some of the waiters were rude and focused mostly of their attention on tourists and had little consideration to locals. We were asked to come and pick our drinks at the bar!!. No comments about the cocktails which were mainly white spirit and the ladies couldn't drink. On the saturday night the restaurant was so crowded and understaffed that they took more than 45mins to serve a glass of water. Most of the activities that we wanted to do were fully booked like horse riding which were booked for the next 2 days. We had to escalate our issues several times to management to gain a bare minimum of attention. The fresh fruits were not fresh!! The kiwis and melons tasted like out of the fridge after a few days. What is sad about all the above is that these comments are about a 5star hotel which is supposed to be good in every areas. I have been in a few hotels from 3 stars to 5 stars, so far this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Before we chose Maritim we went through the comments and noticed some of the negative feebacks but we wanted to get our own experience. From what we experienced, I can confirm that the negative comments are legit and I can feel their pain. If you're a mauritian and looking to spend your hard earned money in a hotel, there is much much better than Maritim.

Our flight landed quite early in the morning, we got to the hotel around 10.30 took them a while to offer a drink. Then we were told Check in is at 3pm, we were so tired we just wanted a room to get some sleep, staff at reception were not at helpful, sorry nothing we can do. They only had 3 check in that day, they could’ve made some arrangements , but nothing at all. Food was disgusting, only liked breakfast, but staff were Amazing! Especially a lady called Vimla, she was so understanding and made special tea for use every morning. They definitely need to improve with their menu. If you’re on half board you have to pay for water too. One plastic bottle given in the room daily. And what can I say about the cleaning! No effort made at all. Would not stay there again.

Mostly spent my time in the spa. The vitality pool and spa treatments are amazing. But the thing that was not so great was the quality of the food at the buffet and the service. Overall staff members were nice. Room service was not great at all. We ordered "chicken and prawn curry" when it arrived, the chicken was missing from the CHICKEN and prawn curry. They said that they would give another one but the service was so slow that we decided to leave it and take some papadums instead. Also, in the drinks, the amount of alcohol that was added in the alcoholic drinks was horrible. I do drink alcoholic drinks but I think that those were the worst drinks that I have drank in my life. It was honestly disgusting. I had to change drinks to non alcohol multiple times in 3 days.

My wife and I stayed here in 2019 and were thrilled to return this year with some of the wider family. Every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay and would have loved to stay longer! We cannot commend the attentive, friendly and helpful staff highly enough ... they had a major impact on our enjoyment. There's a variety of eating places ... all of which provide excellent food ... but our pick would probably be La Maree, situated on the beach. A wonderful range of activities ... water and land based sports, horse-riding MUCH enjoyed by our grand-daughter, dog-walking, historic ruins. Something for everyone! We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We returned a week ago from our fourth visit to The Maritim in Turtle bay and once again had a wonderful time. We were greeted upon our arrival with chilled welcome drinks and shown to our suite which was, as always spotlessly clean, elegant, spacious and comfortable with a generous selection of toiletries and a well stocked minibar. Many thanks to the efficient butlers Sanjeev and Meha for organising our activities and making our holiday run so smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed starting our day with breakfast in the beachside restaurant La Maree (as well as many evening meals and cocktails). The setting is beautiful and the food delicious - amazing chefs! A huge thanks to all the staff who were so friendly and efficient. Although they worked long hours but were always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. A special thanks to Ishwaree and Mithun - we'd like to mention everyone individually but it would take too long. The highlight of our holiday was the wonderful suite beach managed by Jay. The comfortable pre reserved sunbeds at the edge of the ocean with fluffy towels were so relaxing. Jay is fantastic and looks after the guests brilliantly. He seems to know what you want before you've realised it yourself! He is so pleasant, welcoming and with a vast knowledge of the hotel and Mauritius very helpful - a huge asset to the hotel. If you can book a suite to have these benefits it is definitely worthwhile. The whole resort is idyllic, with plenty to do and something for everyone from archery to a variety water sports (swimming with turtles was great), scenic waterfalls and well looked after animals. The majestic banyan trees were a sight to behold especially at dusk when the fruit bats took flight. An evening at The Chateau Mon Desir is a special treat (additional cost) and highly recommended as is the Chateau brunch - the buffet is a work of art! A meal at the impressive Anno 1743 restaurant and rum distillery was great fun with rum tasting and a live band & disco. The Rooftop bar ( The Nest) overlooks to ruins of Balaclava and the Beautiful River Citron - a great sight to see. A special evening for us and our friends was the traditional Lakaz Kreol dinner. A Mauritian feast with a cooking demonstration. Thanks to Jolem for his enthusiastic service. You will need to book in advance if you want this experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we look forwards to returning in the future. Jed & Helen

Great to be back! This was our fifth visit and as ever, we had an incredible holiday. It had been 4 years since our last visit but we were still 'welcomed home' by Kavita and instantly relaxed. It was so lovely to be back! Huge thanks as ever to Mithun, Rakesh, Yevin, Ishwaree, Vidya and Yevin. They go above and beyond and we appreciate them looking after us all so well. They truly make our holidays special. Naresh was great behind the bar - La Maree bar was a great way to watch the sunset. It was lovely to see Jay again - he helped to make sure I could have something to eat from the lunchtime beach menu - I’m coeliac and he couldn’t have done more. And Maurice on the beach - he looked after us all so well. Our children were 7 and 9 on our first visit and at 17 and 19 now, it says it all that we all travelled back here together. They accessed all the water sports and activities. It was unfortunate that there is now a charge for waterskiing but under the circumstances of the hotel reopening after the pandemic, we understood and hope in the future this might change. We can't wait to return and thank you again for a wonderful holiday.
