Overall, it was a very nice relaxing stay. We enjoy our session at the Spa , especially the multi jet pool. Our suite with the private pool and with a splendid view was awesome. The only bad experience that we had and I believe this should not happen at the time of check-in. It took us 2 hours from the time we arrived to get to our suite. upon check-in, we were greeted warmly by a gentleman name Kiran, who introduced him as the incharge of the Reception. He took our passport and invited us to do an Antigen test and accompany us back to the sitting area to complete the check-in formalities. We were not offered any refreshing towel nor any welcoming drink. He was talking to a girl, i believe she is new and he was explaining him in another language which we did not understand and then both started to smile. We found that rude. After waiting for 30 min, I went to meet the gentleman Kiran. I was informed by him that my suite is not ready and I will have to wait, I said I was already waiting for nearly 30 min and is already 14:00 pm. The response that I received from him as a manager was very astonishing, he told me he will not be able to do anything, I have no choice than waiting. He even told me that If I have an issue he can call the Manager in charge and I can discuss further with him. Also he occasionally was calling me brother, in every conversation he was calling me brother. I was feeling embarrased as I already have my brother and why this gentleman is calling me brother. As a recomendation for a luxury hotel like Angsana, i believ the staff should respect the guests and not trying to make relationship with them, If calling me brother and giving me my suite after 2 hour then no thank you sir. Call me by my name and give me my suite on time would make me happier. My wife wanted to be at Angsana and was very exsiting for that stay I did not infomed her anything and stayed. A big thank to Arvin and ajay, who treat us well and make our stay a memorable one. On our check-out, the same gentleman, Kiran, came to fetch our luggage, I believe the hotel lack staffing thats why the Manager came to collect my luggage, but thats ok for me. The check-out took more than it expected as the gentleman told me that he need to verify the mini bar first. Our car was waiting, I told him we are in a hurry if he could do a bit quick, he said I have to wait and if I want I can put a feedback on trip advisor, so that th upper Management can take some action and the situation will remedy for the guets and for him as well. I looked at my wife and said,wow are we really in a hotel or what. I will recomend the hotel only for its spa and private pool suites. I hoe things get better for our next stay.

On a different note, I am extremely sorry, that you found the services rendered at the Front Desk, be it upon your check-in, as well as upon your check-out to be totally dissatisfactory and it is clear that they fell well beneath the expected standards short. Furthermore, I wish to convey to you my most sincere apologies for the unprofessional and totally unacceptable behavior displayed by Kiran, at the Front Desk on both occasions. In this regard, I can assure you, that this does not represent our norm, especially, as we have very clear cut procedures that need to be upheld by all at all times, when dealing with our most esteemed guests at the Front Desk. Meanwhile, I have discussed this important feedback with the parties concerned, so as to avoid any such occurrences from taking place again in the future, for the benefit of our discerning guests. Consequently, once again, I profusely apologise for the above mentioned shortcoming . We have booked for 2N. While we had made a request that we won't be able to wait too long at the reception to check in as we had an infant, and we even got a reply from someone responsible that communication was made in that respect and needful will be done. However, we still waited for more than 1.5 hours and our room was still not ready and after the booking agency spoke with someone responsible, still the later could not confirm at what time the room would have been available. I had to fill in the forms again and provide IDs which I had already provided via email before -I believe there is a lack of communication between the reservation team and front office. There was no refreshing drinks for any customers and lots of birds droppings at the reception. When I enquired with the front office, the guy told me that he works in the marketing department and he is only replacing here as they don't have enough staff, and this is high staff turnover. I came for holidays and not to listen to the management's problem. I cancelled my booking via the agency after it was confirm that they can't say at what time the room will be available and I preferred canceling the booking. The other front office guy even told me that if I can cancel, then it better. A proper approach would have been, to ask the customer to go and enjoy the activities, offer a drink at the bar and when the room is ready, they will contact us. I had to feed my baby in that dirty reception. On the contrary, the front office guy told me that they are low in staff, don't have welcoming drink and can't say anything about when the room will be ready. To note on the agency website, check in time was 2PM and our room was not ready at 4Pm and we decided to leave this place. Having stayed at many 5 star hotels in Mauritius, I can say that our experience was not reflective of a 5 star standard at all. WE WERE VERY DISSAPOINTED AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DIGEST THIS EXPERIENCE. Now i am reading the other comments and came across bird droppings in the room and pool, luckily we left that place and check in to another true 5 star hotel on the next day to forget that very bad trip at Angsana.

In this regard, it is indeed, most regrettable, what transpired upon your arrival at the Resort on November 20, 2021, was not at all to your satisfaction and thus, clearly, did not meet with your expectations. Whilst I fully appreciate the fact, that when you made your booking at our Resort, you requested for an expedient check-in, especially, being accompanied by a baby, which is totally understandable, most unfortunately, as a result of the high occupancy experience at a time, we were unable to comply thereto, despite our best endeavors. Having said this, there is no excuse for the poor services provided by our Front Office staff at the time nor for their lack of professionalism and attention to detail, as one would have expected. Given the seriousness of the matter, I wish to give you my personal assurance, that, in the meantime, this subject has been raised and discussed in detail with all concerned, so as to avoid any possible recurrence of a similar nature. Once again, I wish to offer you my most profuse apologies relating hereto. As to your comment made in respect of the lack of cleanliness at our Reception, I truly regret any inconvenience experienced resulting therefrom, even though, our Housekeeping team see to it that, under the watchful eye and supervision of our Executive Housekeeper, the highest standard of hygiene and sanitation are maintained at all times. In closing, I am extremely sorry, that you decided not stay at the Resort, which is most unfortunate. Booked a luxury ocean pool suite and was very disappointed from the start till the end. The disappointment started from the continuous droppings from pigeon on the balcony which made it not accessible at all during our stay. Though the housekeeping would clean it, after 1 hour the balcony would again be infested with the droppings. This prevent us from enjoying the balcony as well as the ocean view. We could not even enjoy the pool which was very cold. We made several complaints and the pool was never heated even after meeting the GM who assured us that needful would be done and the pool would be heated to 29 degrees. However, the pool never reached 29 degrees and it remained very cold. We preferred to stop the complaints as it was useless and we did not come to the hotel to spend our time on complaints. The worst was still to come. At night we thought we were in the spiders nest. Several big spiders were seen on the ceiling and one even dropped on the bed. The TV remote control did not work even after being replaced. The TV could only be turned off after removing the cable. The breakfast had very limited choice and replenishment was not done on time as cheese was only brought after i finished my breakfast. All above was addressed to the front office team and we even requested to change the room but was told all rooms were taken. The only positive thing which i will remember is Kiran who was always to our attention. Hope the review brings some improvement.

It is most regrettable, that from on overall point of view, you did not find your experience at our Resort to be to your satisfaction. With regards to your disappointment resulting from the bird droppings found on the balcony of your Suite, I feel it only appropriate to mention, that in respect of the presence of birds, Mauritius enjoying a sub-tropical climate and being located in a unique semi-open layout, surrounded by plush gardens, birds tend to fly within the vicinity and in all sincerity, it is extremely challenging to avoid the presence of any birds. In addition hereto, it is worth highlighting, that the Rivulet Bird Sanctuary is located only some 20 minutes away from the Hotel and houses migratory birds from Siberia during the year. Having said this, we have installed dedicated platforms at different locations within the Resort, with a view to minimizing the presence of birds. In any event, we are extremely sorry that you were inconvenienced by the presence of birds during your stay with us. In terms of the comment you made in regard of the private pool in your Suite, I would like to point-out that the private pools of our “Luxury Oceanfront Pool Suites” & our “Luxury Beachfront Pool Suites” are temperature controlled at 29 degrees Celsius in the Mauritian winter, for the convenience of our esteemed guests. On the same subject matter, after having carefully double checked our records and as confirmed by our Chief Engineer, when we verified the actual temperature of your pool prior to your arrival, it was recorded at 29.5 degrees Celsius. The same was actually also shared with you, when I, personally, met you outside your Suite during your stay with us and when, on that occasion, you mentioned, that you did not find the temperature in your pool to be to your expectations, I did, in fact, immediately contact our Chief Engineer and instructed him to increase the temperature to 31 degrees Celsius, which was promptly executed. As it so happens, a little later the same afternoon, I even came to meet you when you were enjoying a swim with your spouse in our lap pool, during which, I reconfirmed the aforementioned to you and you even responded, that this was fine. Furthermore, it is noteworthy, that even after increasing the temperature in your pool, as shared with you during our initial conversation, I, respectfully, took this opportunity to share with you that being a pool, it would take some time for the said temperature in your pool to reach 31 degrees, which you kindly acknowledged. As to the presence of any spiders in your Suite, even though, we make use of an external Contractor specialized in Pest Control, which do the needful, in order to avoid the presence of any spiders and in addition thereto, our Executive Housekeeper & his team also carefully and diligently inspects the Suites, on a daily basis, in order to maintain the highest standards, as one would expect. I am, in all sincerity, very sorry of this occurrence taking place, despite our best endeavors. By the same token, please accept my utmost apologies, in terms of the malfunction of the remote control in your Suite. With regard to your comment made ref our Culinary offerings at breakfast, I am very sorry if the breakfast was not to your contentment, however, I feel it appropriate to highlight, that our breakfast buffet consists of a hot, live & cold section; fresh & homemade pastries and breads, as well as a wide variety of fruits and cereals. In addition hereto, we also offer an "A la Carte" menu, whereby, we are delighted to make available a wide selection of breakfast items or one can also place an advanced order of their desired dish, which our Chefs are more than happy to prepare for the benefit & enjoyment of our most discerning guests. Nonetheless, I regret any delay incurred ref the replenishing of cheese on the buffet on November 1, 2021. On a positive note, I am most grateful to you for your kind appreciation of our team member, Kiran, and your words of appreciation will, no doubt, motivate our team members to always go to the extra mile in the view of delighting our guests. Once again, thank you for your feedback, which will, undoubtedly, enable us in view of our continued endeavors to deliver the finest level of service, in order to provide our most discerning guests with an optimal experience leading to total guest satisfaction. We booked the Luxury Oceanfront Pool Suite for an overnight stay and everything exceeded our expectation. The staff was ever so kind and helpful. The à la carte menu offered a wide variety of international cuisine. We ate so much for breakfast that we didn't feel hungry at lunchtime. The seafood platter for dinner and the complimentary mignardise were top notch. There was not a wide choice of wine by the glass but the ones we chose were excellent. Now the room.... we were simply left speechless when our host gave us the tour of the room. The ocean view from our bed was just stunning, we were able to watch the sunset and take some amazing pictures. The bed mattress and the pillows felt like cotton candy. The private infinity pool, the hammam integrated shower, the bath tub and lounge couch in the bathroom were just pure bliss. The hydrotherapy at the spa was also a relaxing experience. All in all, we had a wonderful and relaxing experience at Angsana and we would highly recommend the Luxury Oceanfront Pool Suite

We went there for our honeymoon and our experience was magical. We had the honeymoon package where we stayed in a luxury beach front pool suite. The package included a special honeymoon dinner, a romantic bath setup, a romance butler and 60 min spa experience. The food and service were excellent. I definitely recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing and quiet stay. We will definitely go there again when we go to Mauritius!
