We stayed at the Intercontinental for 2 weeks holiday and had a really wonderful time! The staff are super friendly and helpful and surroundings are comfortable and peaceful. Looking west you can watch the most stunning sunsets. Aside from having a brilliant holiday, we also got married at the hotel! We would like to give Simmi, who organised our wedding, a special mention. She was so organised and efficient, and made the day very special for us. She had suggestions we hadn’t even thought of - additional touches that added to the enjoyment of our day. She was also great at communicating so we were able to fully relax and trust that she would put everything in place to make the day as special as possible. The hotel has a little island opposite the main beach where we had our wedding ceremony - it was a stunning location with mountain backdrop and perfect for us, thank you so much Simmi, we are very grateful for all your help and expertise. The housekeeping staff also did a great job, keeping our room clean and providing us with fresh towels when we needed them at a time always convenient for us. Abhishek deserves a particular mention - he decorated our room beautifully with flowers before and after our wedding ceremony. He also did a great job at servicing our room every day and was always professional and respectful. The hotel itself has plenty of places to relax, swim and eat delicious food - we enjoyed trying the different restaurants. The buffet was very extensive with a huge number of options for breakfast and dinner. The complimentary watersports were also a great option - we enjoyed using the kayaks to get out on the sea, and the glass bottom boat trip. The hotel also has plenty of parking so it was very straightforward to hire a car and explore the island at our own pace. Taxis are also plentiful and prompt. At night we sat at the bar, listened to the live music and enjoyed spotting the local wildlife :) All in all, thank you for a fabulous stay, we would love to return!

I travelled with someone who needs extremely high standards so I devoted a week to read reviews in search of the perfect hotel for us. I can say in all honesty, not one thing from this hotel's bad reviews was seen during our 10 full days. Definitely recommend staying longer than we did to take full advantage of ALL the hotel has to offer.
We needed: - High cleanliness and fresh look, ie not tired decor. - proper beach, not windy, with sea we could swim in. - good swimming pools near the beach. - Good complimentary activities. - Good food pref all inclusive. - sunset. - ocean view. - Quiet when needed. - feeling of being on a tropical island (lush greenery).
THIS RESORT DOES IT ALL!!! And EXTREMELY well.
The cherry on the top is the incredible staff who can't do enough for you.
There was no feeling of it being a money grabbing hotel. On the contrary we were spoilt for no extra and only spent more in a few areas we really wanted to splurge. All inclusive could have started from arrival but the manager and staff more than made up for this. If arriving early, I highly recommend having a swimming bag easy to get out your luggage so you can use the spa showers and get enjoying your holiday from the get go.
I will put more detail in below, under these themes for those that want it.
I want to thank others for helpful reviews that enabled us to choose this amazing place. A special thank you to Kevin (who rightly is mentioned often in the reviews) Top tip: if he offers you an upgrade deal... take it!! I feel the presidential suit needs a whole review in itself. I mean... 3 balconies (one with a jacuzzi) and a jacuzzi style bath indoors while watching the sunset 💁🏻♀️Not to mention 2 floors and 2 bath/shower rooms. Enormously grateful to Kevin for making this possible for us.
Cleanliness/decor: There is a lovely feel to the whole resort. It is well maintained and kept clean all the time. Bedding is lovely high quality and soft. Even the shampoo/conditioner/body wash was so lovely I didn't bother using my own. I felt the whole resort was bigger than expected but so well designed you don't feel you have to walk far for anything.
Beach: Unlike the hotel next door, this resort is spread out along the beachfront. It never feels busy and there are always loungers available. I wish we had more time to try their different suntanning spots. I enjoyed a bit of snorkeling too. Like others, I recommend you take foot wear to use in the sea
Swimming pools: We loved that you had the choice of the cool beach vibes at the main pool with the joy of having a cocktail at the bar while still tanning and keeping your feet cool in the water. Do try the fab aqua aerobics!! We later found the other pool is quieter and there was a super bar tender coming round to ask you if you wanted him to bring you a drink at your lounger.
Good complimentary activities: Oh my word!! There are so many activities available free of charge. I will add a photo. My disappointment is we didn't get round to taking full advantage. I mean, water skiing, snorkeling out with the glass bottom boat etc. The diving is chargeable and not part of the hotel. Do watch out for them demanding cash 😰 Ask Kevin for help if needed.
Good food pref all inclusive We were a bit skeptical as this hotel offered all-inclusive at a MUCH more reasonable rate than other similar hotels. To be honest it was a big attraction for us and people reviewed the food to be good. Well... wow!! Can't recommend all inclusive enough!! Great value especially for the fine dining you get. TOP TIP- Book into the a la cart restaurants on your first day. You can always cancel the booking should you fancy the buffet- also very good!! Do try: Nobel House (Asian)- Sushi to start, Pad thai and Melon Sago Veda (Indian) - Triptic of meats on vermicelli, Butter chicken and cheese naan followed by the Creme Brulè
(Top tip) Segala (Mediterranean): Nicoise Salad (Stunning and delicious), Beef wrapped in Parma Ham, Salted caramel Panna Cotta (best panna cotta I've ever had) Make sure you are served by Vivek!! The manager, Issen, was also so kind fitting us in and making a super special birthday dinner for me. Our last meal was lunch at this restaurant and Sam recommended an incredible local fish that was a special way to end our culinary delights.
I'm not a fish person but LOVED all the fish at this resort.
Breakfast would not have been the same without Vishal. He always ensured we had plenty of our prefered items especially our barista style coffee and lychee jam (a must try) I have no idea how the sweet Raunuka manages to juggle everyone's egg orders in such heat and smile away at us. 🥰 This is the kind of staff culture you can enjoy at this resort.
Another top tip for all-inclusive: we had lovely packed lunch prepared for us at no extra € to enjoy the day we got a taxi to Troux aux Biches (swimming with turtles) To see dolphin's you need to go really early.
Even until they closed the door on our taxi leaving finally, a manager, Ishrat, made sure we had all we needed for a comfortable journey. *Please not if you get car sick it is best to get taxi transfers.
We are excited to try another IHG hotel elsewhere but this one is going to be very hard to beat!! We are seriously contemplating saving ourselves all the effort and just returning to this ticks-all-the-boxes lush hotel.

A stay again above our expectations. This hotel is constantly improving.
A gym worthy of a high sports complex with new high-end equipment and a coach at the same time singer, guitarist, drummer and sportsman.
The rooms redone in pastel tone with renewal of bedding sheets and towels with a really complete equipment.
Catering with new chefs for the restaurant SEGALA.
Cleanliness of the hotel impeccable.
Treatment room Jacuzzi hamam sauna always at the top.
The staff were always so attentive with a special mention for Reshma and Wesley from the main restaurant SENSO and at the reception the smile and kindness of Pascaline, not forgetting all the hotel staff who participated in the quality of our stay.
The downside to all hotels in Mauritius is the use of English-speaking workers from India or Africa who make no effort to understand the language of the guests. Slight disappointment on the first evening at the buffet of the main restaurant on the meats presented. I would have preferred cooking on demand rather than permanently reheated dishes (hard meat and no taste)

This hotel is located on the northwest coast, a little north of Port Louis, on a very beautiful, well-kept sandy beach that is cleaned daily. The 5 stars are well deserved. The hotel is very large and is also used for international conferences and local weddings, but the spacious design means that even when it is fully booked, the crowds are not noticeable. There is something for everyone in the various specialty restaurants and the main restaurant (international buffet) is top-notch, everything is super fresh and the seafood is amazing. If you can't find anything here, it's your own fault. The rooms are very sour and if you need help, room service comes straight away. The spa is definitely worth a visit, a great hotel for everyone.

Since we wanted to stay in the 4-digit range, we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, this came at the expense of cleanliness and service, for example, towels were constantly forgotten in the room and the tables in the main restaurant were often very dirty. These are wiped by hand if you ask for them, but this has little to do with cleanliness. Of course there were exceptions in the service, but the majority of the employees are rather slow and disinterested. I absolutely do not accept the argument "We are in Africa" here, the service stands and falls with the management. After all, 5-star hotels work in other countries too, and even daily complaints to different managers only brought short-term improvement. I also do not want to have to constantly ask for things that are taken for granted (hand and face towels were forgotten every day, and I only saw face towels for the first time in the 2nd week of vacation), this is one of the basics that even untrained housekeeping can do. The very good dinner buffet deserves special mention, but due to many annoying and rude guests we often went to one of the 3 restaurants. The atmosphere there is more pleasant, but the food unfortunately has very European flavors. The sea in this hotel is not suitable for swimming, but if you walk a little way along the beach you have a nice access to the sea. Unfortunately, sunbeds are reserved even at the crack of dawn, which is why we often ended up on the less well-kept sections of the beach. I would like to highlight Sailesh, Ashton, Aza, Vashis, Vishal, Brinda, Jaywantee and Vinod - thank you for the nice service and the delicious food!

We spent 12 days at the InterContinental Mauritius hotel. As soon as we arrived early in the morning, everything was done to ensure that we had access to our room as quickly as possible. We had a fabulous 12 days. The staff takes great care. Thank you Pascal and Serena at the beach restaurant. Lunch buffet not open every day, but the sea bream from the beach restaurant still resonates with our taste buds. Generous and varied breakfast and evening buffet. We tried all the restaurants, delicious. Thanks to Kingsley at the pool, always quick to ask if everything is ok (;-) C&F). The swimming pool is very pleasant and impeccably clean, as are the common areas of the hotel, the beach, the toilets, the gym, the SPA... Lomi Lomi massage at the memorable SPA, we almost fell asleep, divine. Well-equipped gym with a view of the lagoon and the Indian Ocean which spoils nothing. Beach towels changed daily on request. Really excellent musical speakers in the evening and sometimes in the afternoon, quality singers and musicians. We loved our breakfasts in the company of the birds who eyed our plates and were gluttonous for croissants and bread, even going to the point of fetching our offerings directly from our fingertips. The gardens and plants are superb and very well maintained. The few requests/“complaints” that we were able to make were processed in record time, unheard of before in the hotels where we were able to stay everywhere.
Note that you need beach slippers to explore the lagoon.
The only downside, the view of the cargo ships waiting to return to Port Louis, a bit of a shame and the cleaning which deserves to be more thorough (but we are particularly sticklers ;-)) - the restocking of towels each day was random .

The Interconti is beautifully designed, the many reviews reflect reality very well! The hotel dates back to 2009. At least the public areas have been renovated. The rooms have not, or only partially. Ours was not as fresh as new (chipped tiles in the bathroom, some black grout on the floor) but still clean.
The park-like outdoor areas with old trees are particularly beautiful. The beach and the sea access are artificial and made of gravel but very, very beautiful. The restaurants are also TOP. Both the main restaurant with a varied buffet (always a Mediterranean line, a pasta station, an Indian line, sushi, starters and desserts) and the three a la carte restaurants (reservations around 24 hours in advance always work).
The team everywhere is TOP, always friendly and very attentive. There is also a German employee at reception.
It is also important to know the very few negative points that can also be found in the other reviews. If you know them and they are not a problem for you, the Interconti is highly recommended: - The hotel is very remote. There is nothing in the immediate vicinity within walking distance, absolutely nothing. You definitely need a rental car or driver if you want to see anything of the island. The hotel offers fixed prices for numerous destinations on Mauritius, including day trips (see photo attached). The drivers are also reliable and the fixed price remains fixed. - You can bathe in the sea but not really swim (the water depth in the artificially created bay is just over 1m. Bathing shoes are absolutely necessary (stones, coral fragments). The pools are not much deeper than the sea either.

The hotel itself had a lot of positives - the room was beautifully appointed with an amazing seafront view. The on-site Thai restaurant also served up delicious meals during our stay. However, our experience was significantly marred by the unsanitary and unacceptable conditions at the hotel's Senso breakfast buffet. On both mornings, we were appalled to find flies swarming around many of the food stations. Even worse, there were cockroaches crawling on the pizzas at the corner counter. Despite pointing this out to staff, they seemed embarrassed but took no visible action to address or remedy the situation. While the room quality and location were lovely, the flagrant health code violations with pest issues at the main breakfast venue put a dark cloud over the whole stay. Seeing roaches walking across food is absolutely unacceptable for any reputable hotel, let alone one charging premium rates. The indifferent staff response only compounded the problem. Unless the hotel gets its pest control issues fully resolved, I cannot recommend staying here based on this extremely off-putting experience at the breakfast buffet. Cleanliness should be a top priority, and the hotel failed drastically in this regard during our visit. The room and views don't make up for having to dine among insects and roaches

This hotel definitely has the wow factor! From the moment you step into the lobby you feel relaxed.
We visited with our 2 children, age 5 and 3 and stayed in a family room with a separate bedroom for the kids. Ample space, bathroom with a bath as well as a separate powerful rain shower, tea & coffee in the rooms etc. couldn’t fault it!
Special hats off to the kids club - they were wonderful. Our daughters LOVED going & would run to the door as soon as they saw it. The ladies who ran it were lovely and the activities were brilliant, including a trip on a glass bottom boat! As the club was complimentary for children over 4, we paid for a baby sitting service for our youngest which was 400 rupees an hour (about £7.20/hr - VERY reasonable in my opinion!) and she got to do all the same activities as big sis!
Dinner service starts from 6pm (buffet or à la carte restaurants). We tried one of the restaurants but in the end preferred the buffet as it was the best for food choice and speed of food into children’s bellies!! Our children also enjoyed the chocolate crepe / waffle cart every day at 3pm to keep them going until dinner.
Drinks menu at the bar was fab, plenty of delicious cocktails & mocktails available all day including the swim up bar in the pool.
The staff are definitely what made this hotel special for us. They adored our children and made them feel special by remembering their names and greeting them personally at meal times and around the hotel.
My husband and I went on a snorkelling trip which was great. (Complimentary) They provided us with the equipment and took us a short distance away where the coral reef was beautiful. We loved it so much we took the kids the following day. They had buoyancy aids for the children and we just used their goggles.
Thank you so much for a fantastic stay!
