We stayed here for a week in August. The hotel is beautiful with wonderful views and perfect for all-day seaside walks. The heated pools accommodate swimming even in winter. The staff are exceptional: friendly, efficient and kind. The mealtime staff are very good and go out of their way to provide a good experience. Venay, Vimla, Priya and Vassen were terrific. The staff at reception were so helpful in planning day trips and ensuring even a breakfast pack was ready as we had an early departure. An all-round wonderful experience in an exceptional hotel that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Mauritius.
Koushal is a waiter in one of the restaurants in the Intercontinental Hotel in Mauritius. He was always very friendly and ready to help anytime. He likes to make people happy and is very successful in doimg so. :)
I have been staying in Intercontinental Mauritius since 5 days already and everything is top notch. Starting from the arrival since we were greeted by the Front Desk Manager Ishrat and was warmly welcome by his team. I was recognised being ambassador upon arrival itself ans was given upgrade as per my status. Second you eat well and drink well. All is good and far more is the staff. Thank you intercontinental team for making our stay memorable.
I have stayed at Intercontinental in other countries so we had very high hopes for Mauritius, unfortunately there is improvement needed in all areas. We stayed for 10 days. Firstly, lunch needs more variety of foods especially for vegetarians, not just pizzas and pasta. Dinner had no meat curries and not enough variety, never saw much seafood. The restaurants were good especially the Indian, they always welcomed us and the food and service was amazing, thank you Veneesha. The Asian was good the first time and then not as good, service is very slow. We had our anniversary dinner there and not once did they say Happy Anniversary. We just wanted to leave but they did cake as my husband requested it, poor service. The mediterrean was awful, not enough options for vegetarians at dinner. There are also too many flies around the food and drinks, a problem that needs to be sorted out! Breakfast had a great variety of food but the service was awful. Catriona was always welcoming but not the others. I asked for coffee one day, first she told me to wait and then when she delivered the coffee she slammed the cups and milk on my table, it was a lady called Bhavna who we noticed was nice to the French but not to asian guests! We were all inclusive but preminum drinks are not included. Ami was fantastic and always smiling when preparing our drinks, the only one who could make the best cocktails, the other need further training!! As for the rooms, they are clean but they always took our towels but never left new ones, which was frustrating especially if you didn't want them washed!! Never replaced the shower caps either, poor for 5 star!! After a few calls it got better on the second week. Also little ants in the room especially when you have the bedding changed. Overall the hotel has amazing grounds, the water was rough so couldn't go in the sea, the entertainment could be better and the bar closes at 11pm. The spa was amazing, thank you Devika, an amazing body scrub and hot stone massage. Worth the money. Book your excursions online as it is not cheaper to book from the hotel and the lady does not know her stuff just wants to sell stuff but you have to chase her afterwards. Also she only takes cash!!…
The staff are fabulous and go out of their way to make your holiday perfect. We upgraded our room to have a lovely view of the beach - would recommend. The bars had a good range of drinks, the restaurants were all good. We had a couple of massages in the spa which were good. The sea was rough so we couldn’t take part in any of the water sports but there was a good range of choice. The only slight downside is that the all inclusive doesn’t start until 1800 hrs on your day of arrival and finishes at 1200 hrs on day of departure- the food and drinks are expensive so be prepared to pay.
I have stayed in lot's of hotels, but for me this one is the best. Starting from the architecture, location and the spacious and clean room. The best part is staff - always willing to help, nothing is too complicated for them. I had some nice experience with reception staff - they were very helpful and nice. The rooms are clean, the area is well-maintained and really clean. The food is absolutely delicious, I already miss the tandoori food. The service in restaurant work really hard and they are always smiling and kind. Thank you Jay for taking care of our wine glasses, they were never empty! Thank you all the staff for making my holiday unforgettable!
We checked in on 27th july and checked out on 28th july. We received a very warm welcome. All the staff were magnificient and we enjoyed every second we spent there. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very nice. I would, without any hesitation, recommend any friend or relative wishing to spend a few days at a hotel. A special mention to the manager, Mr Ishrat, who was very caring and helpful all the way. From Zahed Toorbuth
I visited along with my partner in April 2022. The hotel has a very lavish lobby and is well maintained. The rooms were decent as well, though could be improved to up the stature of the hotel itself - no complaints though. The property is well maintained and clean. We had a personal point of contact from the hotel Mr. Ramesh who did a fantastic job of assisting us with any kind of needs we had. The food and the beverage area needs to be improved at the hotel. Whilst there are people visiting from across the globe, the representation of vegetarian/vegan options was limited and at times did not taste great - especially for the desserts section. It was a nightmare to convince the dessert chef to get us something egg free - since we are allergic to eggs. The labelling of food was also not quite accurate at times e.g. A dish labelled vegetarian, had meat in it (happened with the tortilla wraps) and extreme care had to be taken whilst selecting what to eat. The hygiene in the main restaurant Senso during evenings wasn’t the best, especially with the increased number of flying bees due to close proximity to the beach. The hotel’s concept of charging for a bottle of water for people who had all meals included was quite unfair and seemed stingy and unreasonable - just as a mechanism to pocket out money from the patrons. Extremely disappointed by the approach. The recreational activities were good, but could be developed further beyond being just a tick in the box. Overall a good visit, but the culinary experience can be improved.…
We were extremely impressed with the InterContinental Mauritius from the moment we arrived and the welcome all the staff gave us, but particularly Isharat, to the moment we left. We'd booked on the all inclusive rate directly with IHG as a Diamond Ambassador. Isharat advised us we'd been upgraded from our booked honeymoon suite, to the presidential suite. Wow....the biggest room we've stayed in anywhere! Really appreciated the upgrade. The first thing to strike us when arriving was the reception area. It's stunning with stunning views over the ocean. An excellent first impression. The pool area was lovely, the pool itself heated. The swim up bar was good and being on all inclusive gave us access to basically everything. Cocktails were a regular of ours! And here, as with check in, staff were awesome. There are loads of sun beds and if you want more peace and quite you can make use of the sunbeds up and down the coast line. There are loads. The all inclusive element really did include everything. The buffet restaurant, any of the 3 a la carte restaurants, or the sugar cane bar for lunch (a la carte). There were no restrictions. As it should be for all inclusive. The food was excellent everywhere too although our favourite restaurant was Segala, the Mediterranean offering. Also open for breakfast and lunch and very quiet each time we visited. We made us of the pedalo and glass bottom boat which were good fun too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and fully intend to book again and bring our 10 year old daughter with us for the experience.…
We had an amazing time as a group family. The welcome we had from the staff were outstanding. We were spoilt for choice in regards to the amazing food. The hotel facilities and pool were first class and the rooms were really nice and comfortable. I look forward to revisiting very soon.
