Guests often laud the Akassia Swiss Resort for its warm and professional staff, alongside efficient service, despite a few reports of inconsistency. The value proposition is debated; some regard it as a great deal, while others are put off by extra charges. The resort's amenities, particularly the aquapark and the range of activities, receive high marks for cleanliness and family-friendliness.
Room experiences vary, with many finding them clean and cozy, yet some criticize their datedness. The hotel's atmosphere and location are generally celebrated, with the festive vibe and proximity to the sea being highlights.

Detailed Reviews
We are a family group of 20 and we stayed at Akassia Swiss Resorts for 6 nights. It was an exceptional experience I will never forget. . Ever since we step foot in the lobby of the hotel, the reception staff were very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and able to choose our rooms as exactly as our needs . The rooms were cool and always clean. The room service would even make animals out of towels on our beds which never failed to make us smile, especially the kids. The food at the restaurant was different each day and always tasted amazing. Our kids had so much fun at the Aqua Park which was so big that they never got tired or bored of riding the slides on a daily basis. The staff at the main restaurant bar, especially Asaad and Mina, were very friendly and always putting a smile on every ones face. I would like to thank Mr. Hosny for making our last night very special. Also a big thanks to the desert chef for making our custom birthday cake very delicious.
overall the resort is family friendly, clean and lots of fun.

I am about to leave the hotel for the airport, but since they did not take our AI bands and towel cards, the Kids are swimming at the pool I am chilling on a sunbed and writing this review.
First of all the place is huge! There are three main areas: the beach where you can (what a surprise) swim in the sea and see the fish. There are two jetties, and this is one of the only "complaint" I have: although the weather is perfect in October, the strong winds caused a constant red flag, on the jetty. The good thing is, there is a big cutout in the reef where the kids can swim, and there are quite a few fish there as well. What is more, you can sign up for a very short trip to a neighbouring bay, where the reef is spectacular. It is free of charge, and you are driven there in the company of lifeguards. Must see!
The beach area also have a bar, and a restaurant where you can have breakfast and lunch.
The pool area is nice and varied. There are more than enough of sunbeds, and a well equipped bar.
The aquapark area is huge. It has slides and pools for small and big ones. My kids loved it.
The room: very big, cleaned everyday. Although the furniture is oldish, and sometimes a bit "tired" everything works and is clean. No complaints here. The food: breakfast is ok. Fresh omelette made on the spot, pancakes, a few kinds of veggies and fruit, loads of breads and buns. Lunch always has something to interest you, but the dinner is where Akassia shines: everyday we were here there was something new on the grill, from koftas to crawfish, and a vast variety of other things. The taste also ok, although I would expect more spices from Egyptian cooks. The people: very nice, very helpful. Everyone from the cleaning staff, bus boy, to a bread-baking lady made us feel welcome, but special thanks goes to Mr Hosni, who took great care of us and was really interested in our wellbeing. Overal: great holiday!

During our 8 day stay we loved Akassia more and more each day. The resort is very big, so it takes a few days to get your bearings, To find out where you can get coffee before 7:00AM, what is the best location in the aqua park to put your towel down, when is the best time to go snorkeling, etc. But this exploration is part of the adventure we like.
The snorkeling is unreal. The friendly lifeguards make sure everything is safe and also swam with us a couple of times to point out special fish and corals. The amount of different fish, the number of fish and colors you see underwater is astonishing. It truly is like a zoo's aquarium down there.
The quality of food in the resort is really good. I would rate the choice of food only average though. Choice in fruit and vegetables is limited.
The aqua park has plenty of slides, some of the fastest and longest I have ever seen!
What stood out was the friendly staff throughout Akassia. At the hotel, the gardeners, bus drivers, life guards, housekeeping everybody was friendly, helpful and interested. They all made sure our stay was a welcome one and the experience one to trepeat as soon as we can

This was our fourth visit to Egypt, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the least enjoyable of all our trips. The hotel, part of the Akassia Swiss Resort now split with Sentido Resort, certainly has potential. It’s a vast complex boasting numerous pools (not all available to Akassia Swiss Resort guests) and is situated in a warm spot of Egypt, allowing for pleasant sea swimming even in December – which is a truly delight indeed, so especially families with children might find these aspects appealing.
However, beyond these positives, the hotel falls short in several areas. The rooms are substandard with non-functional amenities. The approach to cleanliness is unenthusiastic, requiring guests to insist on proper housekeeping. The rooms are very old and not functional, the mattresses are uncomfortably hard, and the food quality is disappointingly poor.
Customer service at the reception, particularly , was also a significant letdown. The staff there came across as arrogant and unhelpful, especially when we needed assistance or information. For instance, the only travel option presented to us was an overpriced taxi service to the old part of El Quseir, costing $40 compared to the much cheaper Uber alternative ($3 one way). This taxi service was not only expensive but also disappointing, as it led to an unsatisfactory tour where we felt pressured to buy souvenirs we didn’t want.
Additionally, an encounter with a local pharmacy staff member was off-putting due to the continuous attempt to overcharge us for basic items, significantly above the official retail price on the box (9 times higher prices), without providing you even a receipt.
Despite the commendable efforts of the hotel management to address our concerns – which we greatly appreciated – I regret to say that I cannot recommend this location. Our overall experience warrants a rating of 3 out of 5 and without the management’s intervention, this rating would have been lower. Travelers looking for a hassle-free and pleasant stay might want to consider other options

Before I start I just want to say that Mina and the guys at the lobby bar are fantastic and stand out among other staff members!
We stayed here over Christmas 2023, a party of 6 and every single one of us has been unwell since.
When we arrived we were given the wrong rooms and I was spoken down too by reception staff on the phone, however when my boyfriend phoned he was spoken to in a very different manner which I found to be discriminatory.
Our room was never cleaned to a good standard and by the end of the holiday we only had one flat pillow per person for some reason and towels were not replenished properly. The bathroom was never cleaned the whole stay, hair everywhere and the floor always felt sandy where it had been cleaned with a dirty towel.
There was a terrible rainstorm while we were there which is nobody’s fault however the bricks were dissolving on the ceiling and falling to the floor and the rain was actually coming through the roof. When housekeeping arrived to sort the room later on, they were trying to make a bed that had been soaked through to the bottom of the mattress, they were not even going to replace the bedding if we didn’t complain even though it was soaked through with dirty rainwater.
Food is very repetitive, even theme nights it’s the same food. There is next to no entertainment, a disco on the seafront with no bar and only playing techno music (met with snarky responses if you ask for a change of music).
All in all, my main criticism is the staffs attitudes and the cleanliness.
Safe to say I will not be returning to this resort and will warn others not to aswell.

We stayed here for 2 weeks with the whole family:
Pro: 🥳
- Super animation staff (children)
- Great location of the room (pool)
- The staff in the resaurants
- The sea
- Absolutely great diving school with super nice and professional team
Contra:😡
- Very much is old and needs renovation!
- Very intrusive beach vendors!
- Many sun loungers early in the morning, making it hard for families to get a good seat.
- No change in the food offer, except for minimal changes
- The quality of drinks (Much too chemical and sweet)
- Hygiene of drinks. It is served everything that is not consumed directly at the bar in plastic cups that are only briefly rinsed out by hand.
- Condition of the water park. Very rusty and old. You're afraid it'll fall outside. The staff there were mostly very pissed off.
- The evening shows were 90% on stage at the restaurant. If you wanted to see the shows, you had to go to the restaurant and occupy the seat very early. Otherwise you don't have a chance to see them. Except for the Fireshow (in our opinion anyway the only show worth calling) which was on the beach.
- No rest at dinner. Always any dance performances or chants. Far too loud
- Many visitors from Poland and the Czech Republic, which are very space-consuming and loud. The hotel advertises itself as a family hotel, but a lot of drinking there just all day.
- A bit confused at first, as there are two hotels in this complex (Sentido and Swiss).
- Construction site right next to, which also work at night and make noise. When this one's done, there'll be more people.
- The room was never really well cleaned except with tips. The ground was actually always sandy and we had a lot of ants, just everywhere! Despite telling multiple times, no solution. On arrival we were not allowed to touch various things in the room - Freshly painted.
Conclusion: 📍
As a family we could still enjoy the holiday, however we would never return to this hotel. Much we promise. More appearance than being and simply outdated.
If you decide to go anyway, definitely go to the Sentido (Very clean, better food, more rest, nicer rooms). We have experienced this from our own experience. But many employees also tell you this 😇

Rooms are clean with a fridge and a safe, the shower was exellent with plenty of clean towels. The gardens are very pretty. The food is good at the main restaurant. The pizzas at the beach restaurant are cooked fresh they are lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. The dive centre (wonderful dive) is exellent offering many trips, all the staff there are very professional. We had some treatments at the spa which was great. Waterpark was great. Only negatives I had was the wifi, it was ok to send a message but you couldn't watch netflix ect, and there was only one english chanel on the T.V .

We visited the Akassia Swiss Resort for Christmas 2023 and we couldn't have been happier! The team are amazing, couldn't do enough for us.
I had made contact with the hotel prior to travel to request rooms close together. Hosni leading the guest experience team was most helpful and we were very happy that we had been allocated the blocks next to each other. Our room overlooked the olympic swimming pool which was lovely and quiet.
The hotel was decorated beautifully for the festive season and a fab party was held on Christmas Eve which the team had worked hard to ensure everyone had a great time.
The beach is the best I've experienced in Egypt and the 'swimming pool' in the sea was amazing! No need for a snorkel , the water is crystal clear and the fish simply swam around us.
Good variety of food and drink available. At times when there isn't food on offer, simply visit the lobby bar and they can provide sandwiches etc for you.
We visited the spa for a few treatments and all were excellent!
We found some areas were looking a little tired as the hotel is still recovering from covid times however, there is a room refurbishment taking place currently (not that you would have known this). The staff work very hard to maintain the property and it's vast grounds. The resort is sprayed at 5am and 5pm daily to help minimise the mosquito population! We didn't get bitten once during our stay.
So my conclusion yes, some areas are a little tired in places but it certainly wouldn't stop us staying here again. In fact we're already looking.
We'd just like to say thank you to everyone that made our stay so special!!

We didn't get bitten once during our stay.
So my conclusion yes, some areas are a little tired in places but it certainly wouldn't stop us staying here again. In fact we're already looking.
We'd just like to say thank you to everyone that made our stay so special!!

The hotel's catering and beach areas are far from being able to cope with the number of guests. In the evenings there is only a small buffet restaurant for over 1000 guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are spent queuing, only to find a dishevelled, unappetising buffet. At the beach restaurant, flocks of birds help themselves undisturbed to the open food. The staff cannot keep up with the rush of guests, so that a large proportion of the tables are not cleared or re-set. The birds feel very comfortable here too. Finding a place is a matter of luck anyway. In general, the hotel is lacking in cleanliness. There are no sunbeds on the beach, especially since the palm-free beach is not worth it.
The pool is tipped over and green. The aqua park is half closed and is unkempt. There are no heated pools for adults.
The range of bars is limited and not appealing for a 5-star hotel. Already at lunchtime there were visibly very drunk guests at the bars.
Very close by is the large construction site Akassia 2, with a lot of noise and dirt.
A New Year's Eve gala dinner costs extra, €150 for a family with one child. If you don't pay that, you have to make do with a lunch buffet somewhere else. But the gala dinner (buffet), which costs extra, was nothing special. There weren't enough places to sit here either. The gala dinner was abruptly interrupted by deafening techno music at 8 p.m. It was impossible to escape the far too loud music in the entire complex.
Complaints to the management were dismissed with the fact that the hotel was fully booked. After one night we left the hotel at our own expense because both the hotel and the tour guide didn't want to accept our complaints. Our complaint was also not countersigned.
We give one star for the room, which we only got after complaining. The first room was dirty and unrenovated.
For a relaxing and stress-free holiday, we advise against booking at this hotel.
We are now spending our holiday in a 4* hotel with much better service, food and palm beach, for half the price.
Please note that the Sentido Akassia is not part of the complex and cannot be used

We went with my girlfriend to the Akassia Swiss Resort this summer 2023. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but too many small details mean that I only give this hotel a rating of 3 All-In.
Let's start with the positive points: - On arrival, we were welcomed with a fresh fruit juice, pleasant after a few hours of travel.
- The setting of the hotel is simply exceptional. The decoration, vegetation and buildings are royal.
- Upon discovering our room, we noticed, after a quick look, a sort of mold covered with a rug in the bathtub. We then went to reception the next day to report this problem, and very kindly, we were upgraded, and sent to a new room (renovated and upstairs at that).
- The swimming pools in the hotel are very quiet, a big plus when you need to relax.
- The Aqua Park is truly immense, and offers a wide choice of activities.
- The food is simply the best that I have tried in the different Egyptian hotels before. Wide choice of succulent grilled dishes in the evening, and for those with a sweet tooth, a variety of desserts every day.
- Special mention for the safari activity, low prices and unforgettable experience with a great crew! I recommend you.
- Cleanliness level of the room is excellent.
Now the negatives:
- The service is far, very far from being up to the standard of an All-In. In the morning we were never served drinks, we had to go get them ourselves. At lunchtime, the same, except with a little luck, you will be served, if you come across a good waiter at the beach restaurant. In the evening, the service is there, and fortunately, because all the servers are gathered in the same place. To give you an idea, the servers pair up on a cart to tidy up a single area. On top of that, with the exception of some, the servers are not smiling or pleasant, no hello, nothing. Big disappointment, and very big negative point for me, who has always been accustomed to royal service in hotels in Hurghada, for comparison. Don't expect service on the deckchairs either, drinks are charged when they pass there.
- There is not a lot of choice in terms of All-In cocktails. Many of them are made with vodka, orange juice and grenadine, and one with gin. For the rest, it PAYS! A tequilla sunrise, a mojito, etc., you have to pay.
- In addition, during the day, on your deckchair, you are most of the time forced to drink your beer/cocktail/soft drink in a plastic cup, which is not pleasant. Also in the evening, or even for other meals, you must consume from a cup if you are not served by a waiter.
- Be careful, nothing to do with the hotel, if you plan to visit around it, there is nothing.
There you have it, few negative points, but for me, the 3 things that make a hotel a good All-In are cleanliness, food, service. Here, the service was really not up to par, which is why I only give it a rating of 3.
