The Sheraton Soma Bay Resort garners praise for its attentive staff and personalized service, creating an inviting atmosphere that many guests appreciate. Its prime location by the beach is a highlight for travelers seeking relaxation and snorkeling adventures. While some visitors believe the rooms and food are somewhat overpriced, others are content with the value, particularly given the beach facilities. Though the spacious rooms boast impressive views, reviewers suggest they could benefit from modernization. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with a well-maintained beach and clean rooms frequently mentioned.

This was my first visit to Soma Bay.

The hotel located in excellent location in Soma Bay with huge area built like ancient Egyptian temples.
The beach is big and sandy, the water is perfect.

Pools are bug but not deep, I suppose the most deepest one is only 1 meter.

All the staff is helpful, front desk Mr Mohamed & Mr Khaled finished my check in/out very quickly; luggage transfer was fast although my room was far; Mr Eid who accompanied me to the room and explained everything in the way; Mr Said, Mr Amr, Mr Mahmoud in the main restaurant were very helpful and smiling all the time; housekeeping was very clever ; and the most hidden person Mr Ibrahim from the GM office who is really every where trying to discover and solve any problems and really I appreciate his efforts in solving very small problem to me.

I booked 2 rooms and upgraded to seaview and soft all inclusive.

Due to Covid19 situation, most of hotel facilities are restricted:
All restaurants are closed
Kids club closed
The main restaurant and sea view restaurant are opened for meals.
Solar bar is opened because most of its area is outdoors.
All water sports are available.
Sauna and massage are available

The hotel is taking fairly good measurements against COVID19:
Temp taken before entering the hotel and before entering the restaurants.
Sanitizers are spreaded everywhere.
All the staff is wearing masks.
Towels and cups inside the rooms are inside sealed plastic bags.
The open buffet is not self served, chefs are serving.
No animation team or night activities (this made the stay boring).

The beach is lovely with sand and very wide area, the water is not deep.
Pools are good but not deep.
The aqua park need to be bigger with more games and the working hours need to be extended.

The food is very good, but with all inclusive supplement the lunch was set menu which is the same every day, so for one week stay we stopped having lunch because we already tried all the menu, also the food in sea view restaurant (lunch restaurant) is not so good not like the main restaurant.

The rooms were good but everything needs renovation, TV system is slow and boring with limited channels.
Nearly all the bath amenities are removed till you request due to Covid19 situation.

What I want to mention that the all inclusive supplement is not good, although you have all soft drinks free but there is no snacks on the beach and you only have 3 hours (from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm) to take cakes inside the bar.
Also everything in the aqua park is extra charge.

In conclusion, the hotel is very good and although now is not fully occupied, but I'm sure that after the pandemic finish it will recover again with its excellent location and lovely staff.

I love the place . Everything was perfect , starting from the cleanness of our room , sanitizers everywhere and all staff are wearing their masks . Location is wonderful with its amazing view facing ( sea + mountain ) & a safe sandy beach for a family having a two years old baby . Food was delicious & freshly served with a variety of items to choose out from their menus. A daily follow up from their staff heads that we are enjoying our stay and if any negative feedback..so really they are caring. Pool is very clean . A place to relax in. I would recommend to dedicate a space around as kids area having some swings , see saw & slides rather than the aqua park which is not suitable for toddlers. Need to increase the entertainment program singer, belly dancer..etc ! Thanks for everything & will probably visit again !

Just came back from a lovely family holiday at the Sheraton Soma bay hotel, everything was perfect, especially that we were very worried about staying in a hotel with this COVID 19 pandemic. The hotel was super clean, all staff wearing masks, sanitizers everywhere, everything was regularly sanitized, staff were always helpful and eager to serve us especially the waiters Ibrahim and Taha who were constantly making sure that all our requests are met. Food was also great regardless of the fact that there were no open buffets and everything was to be served on tables.
The hotel is very family oriented with a huge pool and beach and there is also a very nice spot for snorkeling.
There is also a small water park just outside the gates of the hotel which was so much for our kids.
I honestly believe that everyone at the hotel did an amazing job to make sure that we enjoy our stay and we will definitely be back for more stays at this hotel.

I needed a relaxing vacation and head to Sheraton Somabay. The staff are not taking COVID-19 lightly. Everything is continuously sterilised. The rooms are clean and new sealed towels are delivered everyday. The buffet is good but they serve the guests to reduce handling, the tables are thoroughly sterilised after each guest.
The staff are very friendly and doing everything possible to serve and provide a special experience. They know the guests by name and quickly pick up the guest routines.
Now this is a beach resort and hence must talk the beach. Hands down this is the best beach in Egypt and probably one of the best in the world. The water is clam, pristine with a nice breeze. It is great for all water sports. I used the opportunity to relax and swim. Imaging swimming in November, wow, Also important to note that the hotel staff had their face masks all the time, even outdoors by the beach. It felt really safe.

This is not my first stay at Sheraton Soma Bay and this was the best by far. The resort’s precautionary measures against COVID-19 are being followed thoroughly. The entire hotel is disinfected all the time including the beach sun lunges. The room is spacious. The resort is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation or anyone who enjoys water sports, ranging from windsurfing, and catamaran sailing, to snorkeling and diving trips. The resort offers bike rentals and tennis lessons. The iconic jetty is the perfect spot for early morning and sunset swims, snorkeling, and diving.
Special thanks to the water center staff for the catamaran sailing lessons and snorkeling trips,

I have been going to “my” Sheraton Soma Bay for several years now. I have visited many hotels around the world, but I always enjoy coming back to the Sheraton Soma Bay. I love this place! The rooms are large and incredibly clean (same standard as in Europe), the beach and the water are great (the water is crystal clear, like in the Caribbean), the staff is more than friendly - you can ask nearly everything you need, they will do everything they can to make your wish come true.
The breakfast is very good, a lot of choice...smoked salmon, Crêpes, wafles, fresh juices etc.. You can eat like a gourmet in the Italian Restaurant, or choose the buffet in the main restaurant at night.

Unfortunately, we are all living a very bad time at the moment, facing the Corona virus. If you decide to travel and you go to Hurghada, you can safely choose the Sheraton Soma Bay. I am sure they will take good care of you.

The beach called Soma Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region.

I miss the Sheraton Soma Bay very much. My flight and journey in March were cancelled.
I count the day when I will be back again.

I want to share my trip to Soma Bay where I was looking for a 5 star luxury experience. I spent the first night Wednesday 23 September in Sheraton Soma Bay but decided to checkout the following day (something I never had to do before at any hotel) and go to Kempiniski which is just a short distance away.
Sheraton Soma bay is simply incomparable to Kempinski. It felt like leaving a 3 star hotel to go to a 7 star hotel.
I was shocked with how poor and cheap everything in Sheraton is, rooms, food, amenities, entertainment etc. To be fair the staff is very nice, especially Mr. Mina, but they are all just trying to compensate a 3 star experience by simply being nice. They tried to deal with our dissatisfaction by sending us a poor-quality cake which we could not eat. Upon our checkout, we expected to be offered an exception to refunding us on our card (since this is how we paid for our stay upon check in) and refunding us in cash instead of having to wait for 14 days. They did not try to apologise by making special discount either.
Just as we arrived to Kempenski and checked in, we were sure we made the right decision and enjoyed the rest of our three day holiday.
The room was impeccable, food variety and quality was great, and the staff is extremely professional and attentive. The mood on the beach was unforgettable, with a DJ right before sunset playing tasteful music. After dinner there was lovely entertainment including a belly dancer and a tanoura show. I must also add that the hotel takes the Covid 19 safety measures seriously at all times and premises. Great value for money in every sense.
Thank you Kempinski, and shame on you Sheraton. We will never have faith in the Sheraton brand again. I am currently still in Kempnski room 1506 with stunning view and leaving tomorrow

Visited from England with my wife / 3 children 6th August to 20th, welcomed on arrival drink etc

Quickly shown to room

Hotel /room dated but absolutely spotless (room 2326 and 2327)

Staff, majority very friendly, I felt it was understaffed expecially at the pool bar, on most days it was difficult to get served if you were in the pool.

Food very good

Beach lovely and snorkeling from the jetty possibly the best I've seen in Egypt

Location in the middle of knowhere, we got an uber to senzo mall 10 english each way approximately

Couldn't really fault the hotel, animation team were good and entertainment good.

Downside for me was the hotel was full of egyption tourists some nice but majority very rude, no manners, touching food with hands etc several times I had a couple of minor arguments with them over this I thought they were like animals, they have the staff absolutely mithered and rushed off their feet

Restaurant at breakfast / dinner it was difficult to find a table at times.

We were all Inclusive and it was frustrating that every time we ordered drinks or went into the restaurant we had to sign a receipt, I noticed it got to the point where we were signing for items we hadn't ordered, this was a hotel wide issue and got to the point where we refused, I hadn't ordered vodka and beer at 11am.....

Kids on roller skates etc in restaurant

Overall a great hotel but for the money we paid we probably wouldn't return

The egyption tourists let it down for me massively

Booked this 2-3 months ago. Got a good deal for a Egyptian all inclusive, however be careful but it’s not quite what it seems. You have to pay for some foods in 2 of the 3 restaurants and only a few drinks are all inclusive.
The hotel is a bit dated and needs some refurbishments, however this was going on during our visit.
We met some great staff. Saied our butler room 2210 was amazing either some great towel art. And ibrahim the waiter int the Italian and the lunch snack bar was very helpful he also sorted out our seafood meal which cost a bit extra but worth the money.
Great beach and the house reef was amazing.
I guess in summary you get what you pay for. Be prepared to have to tip for good service.

I was honestly impressed, this place really exceeded our expectations. If you don’t like crowds and noise, it is a perfect choice for a relaxing holiday. The beach is a heaven on earth! Beautiful sand and turquoise waters... Architecture of this hotel is really impressive. Lobby has a stunning view! Sheraton took covid precautions to the next level (everything was properly sanitized, the entire staff wore proper masks, sanitizers were available at every corner). The staff were super nice and friendly. The food was really good. The facilities were well-kept and clean. Everyone did their job properly without being asked to.
The place was quiet in the night so they may need to consider adding a few more night entertainment options, but that didn’t really bother us as we appreciated the calmness.
We would like to give special thanks to the receptionist Mina who helped us a lot with all the questions we had, George (Guest relation) for his kindness and nice fruit surprise and Abdel Salam, waiter (he took really good care of us everyday, very kind, professional and positive).
We would like to come again in the middle of July because we really enjoyed our stay in May. I would highly recommend this hotel!
