We were speding 1 week in this hotel in 2021 july. The ownersehip taken over by Pickalbatros since around 1 year ago. There were a couple of improvements but there are still lot to do to renovate. Cons Room: Front door has zero seeling. This mean all the noise, small animals, wind could come "thorugh" the gap of the door. The bathroom : the paint is peeling off the door and the bathtub were badly repaired on various places. Our room was on the 3rd floor which is very nice and you could enjoy the see from the balcony. Unfortunatelly there were 2 elevators but both of them were out of order during the 1 week! Beach: very nice, like on the internet but the corals were a bit unpleasant when you want to enjoy the water. Pros There were doing maintanace duning the day, which is were nice that they taking good care of the grass, pools, walkways. They were cleaning the whole are everyday. Mosquitos maintanance were taken everyday too! Fresh beach towels everyday! 2 beach bar were operating during the day! Spa, gym, massage pretty new! There is a sneck bar near to the beach. You can do kitesurfing at the beach, there is a tennis court, and quad renting opportunity. Nice small shops just outside of the hotel (jewellery, glasses, small market, bags, pharmacy). The best place for me was the coffee area. This is the best renovated part for me and the coffee is number 1! Staff: I have to say all the staff were very nice! I would like to mention Shehab from the beach bar, Mohamed from the coffee bar, Mahmun from the lobby bar and Mohamed from the main reception! Thank you for all!

I stayed here with my boyfriend in November and it was honestly the best holiday I’ve ever been on. The hotel itself is very clean, the staff are very helpful and can’t do enough for you. We smashed a glass in our room late at night and called down to reception and someone came within 10 minutes to clean it up. We forgot the password to our safe, management again came quickly and reset it for us no problem. The animation team are brill for both adults and children’s entertainment. We paid extra for an evening meal on the beach on our first night and it was amazing. We ordered 8oz steaks but they were huge. That meal cost around £50 between the two of us but for two steak dinners, wine, the table service etc. You can’t go wrong. The main restaurant is buffet style. It has lots of choices of meals and it really catered to everyone, even had a children’s corner with small tables and chairs and finger food for kids. The Italian restaurant was our favourite, again buffet style. There is pizza available, but they also make pasta at your request although this did hold up the queue sometimes. Only thing I would say is that the drinks service in the restaurant isn’t the best, sometimes could have been halfway through your food before anyone came to take requests for drinks. There is a pool bar that also offers snacks during the day, things like pizza and nuggets etc. The bar service is brilliant, the cocktails are amazing and the staff are so friendly. I have been to Hurghada before and stayed at Mamlouk Palace, the staff there were quite pervy and would make sexist/rude comments so I was apprehensive about coming to Egypt again but the staff at Amwaj were genuinely lovely and polite. We did tip them however felt no pressure to do so. The hotel WiFi isn’t brilliant however we took a WiFi box and paid around £20 at the airport for a SIM card and this lasted us throughout the whole holiday. We did lots of excursions whilst out there, the only company I would go to and use again is Falcon. They were absolutely amazing, we had our own personal guide whilst on any excursion with them. We paid for a spa day, Jeep safari into the Bedoiun village in the hills, two boat trips with one to Paradise Island. Falcon pick you up from your hotel (as the hotel is quite far out they tend to pick you up first) and drop you back off. Would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat, unfortunately by the looks of things on tripadvisor it’s been shut down for refurbishment. Hopefully will open back up soon as we will be back.

I have stayed at the Amwaj on 5 occasions in the last few years, and always had excellent service, and an enjoyable break, in October 2019 my wife and i stayed for 3 weeks, and the price included 3 weeks parking at Birmingham Airport, a Total of £1,905 for 2 persons, the current price shown for 2 weeks in October 2020 would be for 2 persons, with out parking would be £5,900, whats going on, its a good hotel, in a quiet location, and was very good value for money, i hope that its not being knocked down, and will return in the near future at a sensible price,i know alot of friends who have used this hotel many times, but will not be returning at these silly prices.

We boarded a plane at 11am today from London. At 1109 we received an email to advised that the hotel was closed. Little you can do when you being pushed back for take off at 1130. Our transfer driver advised that the hotel is being demolished by the new owner. If you have a resovation get on to your tour operator now before you travel.

Very good food nice beach, snorkelling from the pier very clean hotel with good staff. Pools freezing apart from small heated pool by the beach. Beach bar ok but barman very grumpy. Mix of European tourists. Room with all amenities. Great for winter sun but the hotel closes down this week for a six month refurbish. A bit remote but still good
