Bernetta's Place B&B is a pet friendly inn located close to all the major areas near Mohonk, Minnewaska and in New Paltz. It offers all the country splendor that the Hudson Valley has to offer. Tillson Lake is a a 22 acre lake that you can walk to and enjoy the view of the Shawangunk mountains. New Paltz boasts some of the finest dining and most exciting activities in Ulster County.
Found this B&B by accident searching for dog friendly places to stay. We were looking to get out of NYC for the Fourth of July and this was the perfect spot. From the moment we arrived it was a pleasant experience. Bernetta met us when we arrived and told us about the grounds and showed us to our room, The Millbrook mountain suite. Located in the main house, the suite is a mini apartment and was perfectly neat and clean. You enter into a fully equipped kitchen area and make a left to the hall leading to the bathroom, big living room and separate equally big king bedroom. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Two homemade cupcakes awaited us in the kitchen and they were delicious. The property is about 2 acres and fully fenced in if you’re bringing your dog. It is well manicured with many different flowers and shrubs throughout that add to the serenity of the property. Many areas to sit and chill and listen to nature. No horns, planes or traffic here. Bernetta has fresh coffee brewing starting at 7 AM and a delicious, gourmet, homemade breakfast is served at 9AM on the deck. Breakfast changes daily and is always an experience. If there are any dietary restrictions, Bernetta will accommodate. There is a large salt water pool with lounge chairs and shaded areas surrounding it. Pool towels are in the room. Bernetta was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area’s different trails, waterfalls and lakes. She is happy to help you with restaurant suggestions and make reservations for you. She also has a little very happy friendly dog named Lucia who welcomes you and your dog every chance she gets. New Paltz with many different restaurants and shops and several wineries and lakes are a short drive away. I highly recommend this B&B. It’s a quiet location, beautiful property situated close to everything with the nicest owner, Bernetta. It is a must visit and re-visit. We will definitely be staying again soon!

Bernetta's Place was a dream! My husband and I were looking for a great place to travel with our dog and reached out to Bernetta a bit last minute, hoping a room was available, as there are limited options for pet friendly lodging in the Hudson Valley. Bernetta responded right away and we were able to book the carriage house. We arrived on a Friday evening and Bernetta came out to greet us personally at our car and to show us around the grounds. Her property is stunning, with beautiful fields, gardens, paths to walk, and a gorgeous outdoor pool. There is also a large firepit with plenty of seating where we sat with other folks staying at Bernetta's over a glass of wine and it was great! Our room was immaculate, and quirky yet fun! It was a freestanding building with a bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchen/living area. The bed was super comfy, and the space was light and sunny. Each morning Bernetta prepared a multicourse breakfast including muffins, yogurt, fruit, eggs, pancakes, etc. and the food was absolutely outrageous!
The location of Bernetta's Place was perfect for us--within thirty minutes there were tons of options for hiking (Minnewaska, Awosting Falls, etc.), great restaurants, and fun breweries and wineries. We were able to find a ton of great things to do, all including our pup.
Overall our stay was memorable and lovely and Bernetta could not have been any kinder. She gave us some great suggestions for things to do and was totally gracious. We hope to come back very soon!

This was our second stay at Bernetta’s in four years and we found ourselves equally impressed the second time around as with the first.
Accommodations: The rooms are just amazing. They are spacious, exceptionally clean, and appointed in a way that makes you feel instantly at home.
Property: The grounds are beautiful as is the area around the pool. The property is quiet and serene.
Equally impressive as the property and the rooms is the hospitality and food prepared by Bernetta. She is a spectacular host. From the moment you engage to reserve a room, she works with you to determine food preferences and allergies and ensures that your stay is the best it can be. Moreover, the food served is just fantastic.
When you combine all of these elements with the location, it is the perfect get away or stop on a trip. My singular regret is that I didn’t discover this while I lived in NYC or I would have spent more time here.
Simply put, when traveling to this area you would be remiss if you didn’t stay at Bernetta’s.

I've stayed at Bernetta's Place many times over the years and always feel welcome and a bit spoiled by Bernetta, who goes out of her way to accommodate guests. There's always a friendly greeting and a beautiful, spotless suite waiting when one arrives (I stayed in the Coach House), in a beautiful, scenic, peaceful location. I've stayed in a variety of B&Bs, as well as hotels around the world, and Bernetta's Place is top shelf. So much so, that I decided to stay the entire month of September '19 to get a rest from the heat of my home in the south. Best vacation I've ever had! Thanks, Bernetta, for treating me like family. I'll be back!!

I cannot recommend Bernetta’s Place enough (but want to keep this secret gem to ourselves)! A perfect gathering spot for our large group with our dogs included! Bernetta is a wonderful and thoughtful host who has a fine attention to detail and works hard to ensure a great experience for all (offering great recommendations of things to do and see in the area). The indoor accommodations are clean and full of character. The grounds are well maintained with lush gardens and landscaping that provide some of the farm to table cuisine and a perfect outdoor gathering space. Everyone in our group had a great time here and have already looked to schedule a week next summer.

This Inn is FANTASTIC. The grounds are lovely and peaceful; the pool is excellent and Bernetta is a fabulous hostess. Went there for a week of family reunion and everyone said how wonderful the time there was for people and dogs. The breakfasts that Bernetta provides are something out of a culinary heaven -- all people could say was ahhh. The rooms are clean and very well stocked and roomy. The restaurants and surrounding hikes and parks are like the icing on the cake!. Definitely returning.

We stayed at Bernetta's from Fri to Sunday Memorial Day weekend 2022. So many wonderful personal touches: A personal greeting and tour from Bernetta, freshly baked cookies and cold waters in the frig, reservations at an excellent restaurant (Garvan's), and delicious home-cooked breakfasts. Beautiful grounds, swimming pool, fire pit, and it's all dog-friendly. My pup came everywhere with us and had a lovely time sunbathing on the lawn in front of the carriage house.
We spent the rainy Saturday at Baldwin Vineyards in the upstairs loft, playing chess while my pup snoozed on the floor. On Sunday, we walked the loop around Lake Minnewaska, enjoyed brisket sandwiches from Pop-eez (?) and built a fire in the yard.
We had such beautiful, fun, peaceful weekend. We hope to return soon.

The perfect b&b. We arrived to fresh baked cookies and our wonderful hostess Bernetta. We stayed in the millbrook room, king size, comfy bed in the master and a full size bedroom. Gourmet breakfasts with fresh baked goods and fresh squeezed orange juice. The inn is ideally located and Bernetta knows everything about the area from hiking to wineries. Absolutely perfect. Been staying at Bernetta's for over eight years now, our latest stay was December, 2019. We always feel very welcome here. The rooms are always immaculate, the host is a joy and the breakfasts are wonderful. Her suggestions for dinner and sight seeing are always right on as well. Our family uses Bernetta's Place throughout the year and we have always felt welcome and safe. We enjoy the dog friendly hospitality as well. We would never hesitate returning to this special place.

Bernetta’s inn is a gem. Such a peaceful beautiful place to go for a relaxing getaway. Bernetta puts so much love and thought into every delicious breakfast and her infectious smile says it all. Truly a place you won’t want to miss. My fur baby hates to leave :).
