Fantastic property just up the road from Ithaca. The property consists of multiple buildings including a beautiful old house containing the restaurant and bar. There also is a large home with multiple apartments ala Airbnb, a more conventional 2 story hotel style building and a small “ pet friendly” building as well. Being off season the property was pretty quiet in terms of activity but the staff was still very attentive. Clearly lots of effort has been placed by management and ownership to create a premier hotel property. In fact, sitting by the fire pit one night the owner stopped to introduce himself and ensure our stay exceeded our expectations. At our invitation he stayed a good while and we enjoyed a marvelous conversation about his vision for the hotel. I highly recommend the Inn at Taughannock and will absolutely stay again my next visit to tour wine country.…
Nice clean room and peaceful breakfast with a view of the lake. The breakfast spread was absolutely delicious and they were kind enough to give us second servings of frittata and freshly made pumpkin muffins. We also really liked the location because it is close to fishing areas at the falls and across the street, and Ithaca is fairly close as well. Lastly, the price is very reasonable.
Beautifully restored manor in a lovely setting overlooking Cayuga Lake. Right by Taughannock Falls (great 1 1/2 hour hike). The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We stayed in a separate building in a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. We had dinner and breakfast in the charming restaurant and drinks on the beautiful porch with heat lamps and firepits. Lovely stay.
This place blew me away. I felt like I was staying on the set of a movie. The main lodge sat on top of a hill surrounded by trees and gorgeous views. There is a private entrance to the Gorge trail at Taughannock Falls state park a few steps from the main lodge. I stayed here at the end of September for a low-key Girl’s trip. The inn was just what we were looking for and more. We planned to go hiking and check-out local wineries. Watkins Glenn state park is a 35-40 min drive. It was my favorite for hiking and seeing waterfalls. There were so many I lost count. The winery trails are about 20 – 60 min away, depending on how far you go. Call before going because some wineries have limited hours due to the pandemic. The nights were peaceful and you could see the stars and the moon. They have a modern table-style fireplace outside lined with smaller trees that lit up at night. It was the perfect spot to unwind after hiking. We stayed at the main inn. The room was clean, comfortable, and done in a Cape Cod theme. The Lindt truffle balls on our pillows were a nice touch. The bathroom felt big and had large spa-style tub w jets in addition to the shower. We did have an issue with the showerhead. It was after hours, but as soon as we said something it was promptly fixed by the owner of the inn. He even gave us complimentary drinks that night for the trouble. Instead of a buffet, they served a lovely breakfast of a veggie quiche, a muffin, yogurt w berries, and granola. So much better than the bagged breakfast, most places are doing now. Though, the best part of the meal was our view of the mountains and fall leaves. The Main Lodge was clean and they provided masks. I felt safe in the dining room. All staff wore masks and the tables were spaced more than 6 feet. They were building an outdoor wedding venue while we were there but we never had an issue with noise. Every staff member had a friendly and helpful demeanor. They accommodated our 10 pm arrival with a smile. I felt like the staff genuinely wanted me to enjoy my stay. I would stay here again without hesitation and have already recommended it to friends.…
From the moment we arrived, Tanya who checked us in made us feel right at home. Our room was clean, comfortable & views of the lake perfect! Professional and Friendly Staff Lloyd who manages the restaurant staff, Tanya, Amber at the front desk, treated us like we were old friend not first time guest. The Restaurant was very good & beautiful setting for dinner, the Filet Mignon and the lambs chops were Delicious, service top notch. If open for lunch get the burger. One of the top 3 burgers I have ever had. Dinner or Lunch they will have a dish for anyone in your party. After an active day you can came back and sit by the fire pit (gas no smoke) with a nice glass of wine or cocktail (they have a full service bar!)met other guests with the owner of the Inn greeting all who stop by, enjoy the evening/views before retiring to your room. The Location - right at the start of Taughannock falls trial, just walk down past the main house/Inn and you will be at the falls trail in 3 mins. Close to Trumansburg and Itacha - lots of wineries (Right on the Cayuga Wine Trail) distilleries and Cider Houses. Many trails to hikes close by. Staying at the Inn gives you the charm of a B&B but with the service and amenities of a Hotel. You have a restaurant, bar and full staff. Beautiful grounds and views. I can't say enough and we can't wait to book next years visit.!! Thank you all at the Inn for making our stay one of the best vacations we have had. We can't wait to return!!…
