Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I were on the road returning from the east coast and wanted to stop to see Ft. Ticonderoga. We decided to stay two nights. This hotel looked great on the web. When we drove up, it looked a little rough - parking lot had worn off its markings, foliage was dry and it looked empty. Once inside, we found that it looked slightly dated but very well kept up. It was in very good shape. Nice clean indoor pool, very impressive exercise room, clean, well taken care of room and very friendly and helpful staff.
The inside restaurant opens at 4:00 pm and we were there for the pasta night event. The chef has a pasta bar on Tuesday and makes whatever you want right in front of you. It was well done. The restaurant staff are very friendly and trying hard but they need more training and experience. Orders for a table do not always come out at the same time; one table of 5 only had 4 dinners delivered. I put my dinner charge on my room and it never showed up on the final statement. The next night that server asked for my room number again and explained that there had been a problem. The dinner charge still never ended on my final statement. The staff at the main desk finally just manually entered the meal total.
Breakfast was well-done. Large selection, very clean and well maintained. We would certainly stay here should we drive through again.

My recent stay here while working in the area was great. The hotel is very clean, the rooms, the pool the hot tub even the laundry room. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the room temp was at what you want it to be.
The food served at the restaurant located inside the hotel is great with lots of choices to pick from whether it be just something small or a full dinner. The breakfast that is included in the morning are freshly made to order.
Plenty off parking and well lit.

The bes6t Western at Ti is the ONLY really good hotel in town or surrounding area. It is well run, very clean and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food is quite good and breakfast offers custom-made breakfast sandwiches. There is no daily maid service unless you request due to covid and probably low staffing but that's OK. Bed and pillows were comfortable and NO MOLD in the bathroom! What a concerpt, huh? Hotel is just outside of downtown Ti and close to Ft Ticonderoga, Lake George, the 87 Northway, Lake Champlain ferries and bridges to Vermont. They could pay a bit more atention to their landscaping as weeds abounded around the nice looking hotel.

Stayed one awful night while visiting Ft Ticonderoga. Found this hotel to be old, dark, dated and dirty and the most expensive and basic of our week long road trip staying at moderately priced chain competititors.
to start, marketing photo is not accurate. Front of hotel unkempt with faded parking lot markings and weeds for landscaping. Hallways dirty with old and peeling wallpaper. Room dark and dated. Brown sheers had to suffice for curtains as room darkening draperies would not close allowing the room to be lit with the pool lights all night. Ventilation unit rattled each time it turned on. Mattress not comfortable. Hotel required 3 day cancellation but credit card was charged 5 days prior to reservation. Few guests in hotel. Had we seen the hotel in person when reserving we would have kept on driving. Restaurant was short staffed and the most expensive for the week with limited and poor quality choices. Found breakfast to have limited choices as well with the eggs and French toast overcooked and hard. This is the only hotel in the area that is part of a chain and it seems obvious that management is taking advantage through high room charges without providing a quality stay. If visiting Fort Ticonderoga would recommend arriving when it opens at 10 am which should be plenty of time to see everything for the day and in time to leave the area for lodging.

I preordered my room months prior for a business trip with a coworker of mine. I ordered a room with two queen beds and the best western worker called me an hour before I arrived to tell me I had an "upgrade", she lied and it was one king bed. This is unacceptable she had no rooms that I paid for, so I know they gave my room out to make more money.
She told me "the pull out bed was comfortable" that she sleeps on it when she stays overnight.
I told her I needed my own bed. She proceeded to tell me that there's "more privacy " in the one king bedroom. I wanted what I paid for I didn't want to sleep in the same bed as a COWORKER!
So traveling all day, with my coworker and having to wake up early to not be able to have my own space is quite frustrating. She told me she would give me a free stay or credit for a next stay and never received anything. Highly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Lumpy beds, dark and dirty. The complimentary breakfast is only good if you take yogurt, fruit or oatmeal. Everything else is over cooked/burnt. The bed was lumpy and soft. Unmanageable. No housekeeping unless you request it (I request that they close this sty) and there will be an envelope to tip the staff. My tip would be not to take any more reservations if/until this place is redone. The owner of the franchise CLEARLY must be from a 3rd world country judging from conditions. PLUS it was more expensive than the Marriott we went to next! MARRIOTT! Which is a wonderful relief from the foxhole we were given at Best Western.

An average hotel where we spend two comfortable nights. Very clean and the staff very friendly. The continental breakfast adapted to the present pandemic conditions. We enjoyed our stay
Our problem was the reservation. While trying to book on line, a window appeared offering better deals calling an 800 number. I did it thinking it was a Best Western office. No it was the following company: RESERVATION.COM
They never identified themselves until I received my confirmation by text, Yes the offered a discount, but once you add their fee, the price is the same. In addition the charged more for taxes and other fees. 297.98 + 73.41 = 371.39 plus the 19.99 reservation fee. But the additional problem was the agent was going to charge a total of 440.00. I complained and she did not recognize the error but offered me a additional discount of about 50.00. ???????
The problem started with the window that opens when you are in the Best Western site. Best Western must eliminate this type of scam!!! And this is the reason of the present complain.

Substandard for $300/night. Breakfast: coffee machine not working, juice machine not working, substandard breakfast fare, an open trash bin sitting against a chair at a table (really?), flimsy utensils. Room key will not open pool door - you have to go to the front desk in your swimsuit to ask the clerk to open the door. Totally unnecessary. The first impression of the hotel upon arrival are weeds tin the landscaping. Says a lot of the lack of pride in upkeep.

Very disappointed with our stay at the best western. We were not notified that the Pool would be closed our entire stay. (Terrible time to drain and renovate the pool) Bad communication overall, we were never told we needed to request housekeeping so that was never done for us. Breakfast time kept changing while we were there, very limited choices too

no complaints, it's what you expect from a Best Western.
Breakfast egg sandwich MADE TO ORDER by a very cheerful server was the high point. All the other breakfast items you expect too.
Clean and wel kept.
